You don't understand the point of bump stops. You need the gap between the stops and the pad they bump against. This space allows your suspension to work. With you new ones you have eliminated the travel space which means your suspension isn't working. I have a 2008 jeep and have replaced the bump stops and know what they are for. Your jeep does did not have strong enough springs to support the weight of your trailer. In fact looks like your springs are wore out and need replacement. Also air bags would work for your purpose of pulling the trailer.
