The distributer shaft I had issues with did not come from Snyders, it was purchased from Mike A-fordable parts. Im sure this is a supplied part and not one they manufacture.

Thanks for video; Good job, Suggestions 1. spray head gasket both sides with Copper sealant, before installation. 2. saw a guy after engine was totally together; pour oil into valve chamber, by way of Distributor hole, before installing distributor.😄
Thanks for the suggestions- Yes I considered the copper spray but decided against it in the end just because I was using an original copper style gasket. I had the head and deck nice and clean and flat so we will see if I have any issues. I have also seen people pour oil into the distributer hole, but since I had the valve cover off, I just added it then. It ends up in the same spot ;-)
Nicely done,im working on a 28 chevy but would prefer a ford.
Thanks! Chevys are cool too- Everyone has a Ford, Chevys are not as common. Make it cool and enjoy it!
Straight Four? Or Straight six?
Its a 4 cylinder
great work getting her up and running! love to see it when its all done!
Appreciate it! Its starting to get exciting..
What’s the “old shoestring with sandpaper” trick?
I just pulled the 1928-dated engine out of my late 30/ early 31 Roadster.
Basically cut some fine sandpaper into strips as wide as the crank journal. Lube it with wd40 and wrap around the journal overlapping itself. Then wrap the sandpaper with a shoestring a few wraps. Now pull back and forth on the shoestring. This will cause the sandpaper to roll back and forth around the journal lightly polishing it. Hope that helps.
Nice work! We're hoping to get ours in and fired up this weekend!
Awesome! Messy Garages Unite!
