Second floor WALLS I OFF GRID Homestead Build I

We have had many mountains to climb with building our homestead hours away from our current farm but many accomplishments as well, watch as this week we finally get to erecting some of the second story walls!!
Join us as we, a family of 4 take you along our journey of buying bare land and converting it into a sustainable homestead. We show you the ups and downs of building our custom 3700 sqft house along with clearing 100 acres of land to convert into pasture for our livestock. All while living 250 kms away and maintaining a welding/fabrication business and small 31 acre hobby farm in the outskirts of town.

Assuming you have more time at where you are living or during the off season... that's a great idea to build the walls ahead of time. I bet that 1/8 inch could have been wood shrinkage. I couldn't figure out why you were in setting the walls until I daw the roofs along the sides. Awesome 👍

I made it a point to take one day off of work a week where I spent building the walls. And over the 4-5 months that I couldn’t make it to the property I was able to get 80% of the walls built. This was especially nice that I could do them inside a heated shop and avoid the elements.
