    marriage should not kill the passion in a relationship. sometimes the idea of getting married and the romance dying is very scary.

    • @SuppleChicTV
      @SuppleChicTV 10 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      marriage dosnt necessarily kill romance however i think because men are such goal oriented creatures when they have married you they feel that they have reached their goal so onto the next goal, also romance can still be there after you marry but it has to be more deliberate

    this short movie sends a really deep message! After reading the comments, I keep going back to catch the little details I may have missed. Why promise a woman heaven and earth when you can't even give her a shrub? It's either the married folks are hiding a lot from us, or we singles are just really jaded about marriage and need to do some digging before hopping into it. I believe more people should speak their truth so others can learn. As I get older, I'm getting sick of the portrayals of women sucking it up and sitting through anything for a ring. It's no wonder people are falling out of marriages faster than they got in. Take time to know each other, don't over-promise anything, be confident with your reality while being open and optimistic about your future as individuals and as a team. And if it hurts, no matter how long you have been dating for, walk out. It's better to have a broken relationship/engagement than a broken marriage. That pain multiples.
    With Skinny Girl in Transit, I believe Ndani is shedding light on this vital other side. Good job, Ndani!

    That story went SOOOOOOO LEFT AT THE END!! 👀 Really great short film. Real lesson in maintaining relationships - keep doing all the good things you were doing at the beginning. Don't slack. Neglect is so destrictive.

    Communication is important in marriage...the guy started with note from the beginning and it looked romantic on the part of the woman bcos as a single lady in a serious relationship she was expecting marriage proposal...but after marriage the guy did not change that form of communiction with note....but still used note to communicate with her..and now that she has the ring she wishes that another form of communication can be used by the husband....SIMPLE LESSON IN HERE IS THAT People dont change when they marry you soo do not expect too much...and you can not change them...unless they change by themselves..

      I think circumstances oo . You know the beginning the notes were a form of the proposal would it have been fun if he was speaking at every point that oh turn your lights on when she opened the boot of her car too how else will he have communicated because he wasn’t with her at all times but this one they are married you are around and still using it this marriage circumstance doesn’t work with the note and he should wise up

    • @browngirlafrica1793
      @browngirlafrica1793 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The relevance is not the medium of communication that stayed the same. It is the content. Not changing would mean he still communicates his love via notes and surprises. And that he is still romantic through the day. A note about gas shouldn't be the first thing you see in the morning, in the same place that love notes used to be. Put such a note where she'll see it at breakfast or on her way out. Passion is something to keep kindling. If you could do it once upon a time, keep doing it for ever after.

    Really, nicely done. Especially with the symbolism; their marriage now a watered down version of miscommunication. It was fun and romantic in the beginning, "hints", but not now. Shows how a lot from courtship get carried into marriage, but is it really enough? Well, my critique is that it was way too slow after the first 2mins. It would have worked better as a Punchline Short. But on the whole, good job guys!

    Never mistake romance for love. Wake up. That age old impostor will always be found out. Love is, still is, the greatest though. Love is waking up to find out that your charming spouse snores like the Bahamas Brass Band and you're going to lie by them till death do you part. You'll still love them no less.

    lol i would like to see a proposal coming from african television where the bride doesn't always look shocked. i mean unless u just met, the shocked expression is not always the right reaction. just be happy cha lol not all proposals require you to be shocked.

    • @iaspireradio8905

      i seriously agree. why the shock? you guys have been dating for what?

    • @brownnSucre
      @brownnSucre 8 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Sometimes its not the fact that he's proposing that's shocking. It might have come at an unexpected moment. I know some are exaggerated but its quite normal to be surprised esp if u didn't know he was planning it to be executed in a certain way.

    • @lisaaddo6026

      Lool I know right, even in real life o, I always wonder why they so shocked. Ooh boy like I even picked out my own ring, yes the moment was unexpected but after two years of relationship, there better be a proposal coming up. Especially if uve discussed marriage and expectations in marriage, like u should have an idea a proposal is on the way

    • @ejikeogadah565
      @ejikeogadah565 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If only I could like your comment a million times. Movies and popular culture add to peoples disillusionment with real life romance. The marriage discussions, the saving for the ring, some even live together and you act shocked when he proposes?

    Okay so I have a couple of things to say.
    One: I HATED HER WIG- sooooo fake!!!
    Two: I liked the concept of romantic gestures everywhere and then all that vanished after "I do".
    Three: I think the romantic gestures were too much! AH-AHHHH! Notes, t shirts, haba! And so, they were rather unrealistic for me. This leads me to a famous quote most married people know: What you can't continue, don't start it! Because the romance was plenty, she expected it after marriage and the disappointment was quite keen- i'm not surprised and can't blame her.
    Four: It's a good remainder that romance in marriage is VERY important. It may not reach this guy's level (KUDOS) but women too- what do YOU do????

    • @RuthAdebolaHola
      @RuthAdebolaHola 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Men go the whole 9 yards when they want something, but true its was a very high pinnacle to always meet up to

    • @priscillaasamoah8825
      @priscillaasamoah8825 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I totally agree with you but then again sometimes we forget that marriage is not always rosy. You make it how you want it to be. Either way though Mr. Smooth guy could have been a bit more romantic than a kiss on the cheek and a priority pasted on the mirror. I believe this generation expects so much considering that some of our parents were not like this during their marriage. It was either lovey dovey in the beginning and as the years go by they just acknowledged each others presence or vice versa. Either way there are so many things to learn about marriage each and every day and successful couples have made mention that they continue to go through the school of marriage daily. But I most definitely agree with your point!

    Really shouldn't start what you can't finish. People think that once you've gotten something, then you can just relax. It's like business, the energy you use to get customer should be the same energy you use to keep them. It gets tough and you relapse, yes, but you shouldn't just relax and let it be the new normal. If you give morning kisses, better continue giving it till the very end. And it's actually okay to have expectations and okay to be disappointed when it's not kept.

    And all this while I thought she had a dream of more lavish life with the perfect man “mr Wright”... only to wake up to the reality of her poorer living and mr all so wrong. Maybe an affirmation she secretly desired and hoped to come true just to wake back up to the otherwise ... but after reading the comments I guess it makes more sense that the romance had died after marriage. That makes more sense.

      Hey hey,they worked on their relationship but forgot that the most important thing is life after we both say 'we do'....all the romance ended immediately after, i am sure the last scene of him saying hbd was jst a year after they got married. The marriage itself needs more fire than the courtship because life is hard enough n not jst saying i love you does it any more.
      Two people coming from different backgrounds...Communication is the most important aspect of a relationship...my opinion thou.

      This is the reality of life.... Where a young lady always looks attractive during her single-hood and less attractive after getting married.
