  • I play with my brand new bush buddy mini. It took 6 months to arrive after I bought it. But it appears to be a great product.

Nice review, I've got both the original Bush Buddy and the Mini Bush Buddy stoves. Great little stoves that are fun to use. I've gone on a four night solo backpacking trip , using only the Bush buddy stove for cooking and boiling water.

I love my Bushbuddy mini! I'm currently boiling up some coffee with it right now. I also used it for a while on my AT thru-hike this year. Until I decided send it back and go stoveless for weight and efficiency.

Wish mine would finally make it. Actually ordered a good one an a blemish of the mini but based on your time frame I still have a little left to go through from the first week of Jan. But the blemish one should be a little quicker than the perfect one. At least what the site said. Fingers crossed

Definitely excited. Got a tracking yesterday. Anyone wondering time frames. Ordered 1/7/23 got a tracking 4/25/23. For the blemished mini.
The other still probably has some time to go.
An shipping like in the video originated in Alaska.

Right off the bat I saw something I did not like. No ash pan in the bottom of it. I like the ash pan because it helps to protect the area you are using the stove in.
Something else I'm sure the manufacture does not recommend. The ash pan can also be used as an emergency alcohol stove. Yep , it's leak proof so about 1/2 to 3/4 of an ounce of alcohol can be burned in it. I have done it several times and it will boil water as fast as a gas stove.

Yep. Someone else suggested a small pie crust pan. I think I will just make something light weight to carry in my backpack as an ash pan.

That's why it breathes properly. Any aluminium or wide pie dish will do. You don't have to buy anything. Improvise.

Nice little stove. The only thing I don’t like is the open bottom, although this does allow you to light the stove from underneath. My full size bush buddy has an ash pan and closed bottom. This protects the ground or anything else that the stove might be sitting on. Their website calls this “Heat Shielded”.
I ordered mine back in June of 2021 and received it that November (5-ish months). Their customer service was fantastic. They don’t advertise or promise anything that’s not true or as factual as possible.

I think I’m going to make a small foil “pan” to set it on out in the bush. I love the stove. Great product.

Nice video…might I suggest an aluminum pie pan to place underneath when you use it to keep from starting unwanted fires or even burn marks on picnic tables. Have fun stay safe

I use a homemade disc from 5parts vermiculite and one part sand and 2 parts cement.
Its pretty good for insulating the heat off the ground

Yup, ya gotta continually feed those twig stoves.

Once going you can put thicker mini logs in. The burn time doubling. Also for long burn arrange a swedish torch mini log arrangement

Rather have a hobo stove outta a coffee can. Still gotta feed it and I'd have burned out two of em before you had your first one in your hands

Cheers 🥂 brother nice review I just do a review on the OneTigris Mini foldable stick stove and it cost about $30 and showed up in a week easily folds up flat and fits right in your backpack but I don’t think it’s as light as that one that one looks like it’s titanium. The one I got is all steel

    • @oldguyinthewoods
      @oldguyinthewoods  ปีที่แล้ว

This one is also steel. Heard it works great as a stick stove. I’d love to get the one Tigris one to compare it.

Nice little stove. I suppose someone would use it to boil water for coffee. Maybe to use a small skillet to make bacon and eggs. I like it. Let us know how well it works for you.

They are good stoves but you must be constantly putting fuel in it.
