I’m really digging this. Seems like they made it super easy to program. Might be ordering one in the future. Will do this thanks to this review and your nicrew review as well!
Man this is awesome!! Thank you for sharing this for us! I have an apex classic but I've been very tempted to build a reef pi, but have a hard time finding stuff for the build, but this seems like it's a whole new level!
Its been a while since I did programming on my reef angel+ (think the web programming interface wasn't up yet) but I would test the overtemp condition if unsure; I think it shuts off many devices until the status is manually 'reset'. Good for when something goes really wrong but not good for a 'temp got a little warm'. Before that, you could set forcing lights off, alerting user, reducing pump cycles, etc. while maintaining a responsive state. Had a problem a while ago (around the time of power outage I think) where unit went into a protected mode. started disassembling different boxes when it didn't seem to reset with basic disconnects. Smelled like something overheated and fried but never found anything burned up. After starting to reconnect after finding nothing visible it has been working since and I suspect it had some brains in the power relay box that I may have not unplugged/plugged in during my initial troubleshooting I made a spreadsheet of different capabilities, options, prices in different units years ago. Other units had a nicer look to me in some ways but reef angel capabilities were not holding it back at the time and pricing was much better. Ended up with the +.

Thank you very much i am loving it so far
Very nice and i like how you break it all down. Definitely going to look into this option vs the apex. What auto water changing pump do you use?
I'm using a dual head stenner pump for the awc
