  • @lessthanthreemetal
    @lessthanthreemetal 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +37

    Think about how many things had to go right on the tying goal: Hughes takes Nyquist out of the play so it's 6 on 4, Pettersson doesn't blindly throw it into a crowd and gives it to Miller, who keeps his shot low for a deflection instead of going high and risking a complete miss, Zadorov blocks two players from the play. Boeser tracks the puck down and despite missing the first attempt, somehow pulls the puck into the net while stopping. Saros didn't have a good grip on the stick which meant he couldn't stop it, and Nyquist was late coming back into the play so he missed blocking it with his stick. An insane sequence of events

Forsberg's goal was textbook kicking motion (confirmed by former players on Hockey Panels) and it was a joke that it wasn't reviewable, then McCarron's hit on Casey DeSmith in G3 forcing us to start our third string goalie, and finally the cheap shot from Lauzon on Pettersson after scoring a goal. Not to mention the cocky chants from the fanbase. Game doesn't end until the whistle is heard.

I am 35 years old and none of my teams have won a Championship in my lifetime. My teams are also known for blowing games and series in miraculous and new ways. I am starting to think I am the problem. This loss by the Preds cut me to the core. It was worse than the Chargers blowing a 27-0 lead in the playoffs and worse than the Mets 2015 World Series. The only thing I could compare it to would be the AFC Championship against The Patriots in 05’. When Troy Brown tracked down Marlon McCree from behind to rip an interception away. I hope this game isn’t franchise altering. The Preds need to bounce back next game. And if they don’t, it’ll be all my fault. Because I am truly cursed!

    Insane how we managed to sneak by with that win. It's also insane that we're up 3-1 and Petey has yet to show up...

    The last sec's of every game are the most crucial and never take your foot off the gas petal. It's a good thing that he missed the open net. As a Cancuk fan now I can sleep better.

    One thing of the tying goal that doesn't get talked a lot is the presence of Zadorov in the front of the net. His size literally blocks out 2 defenders who were trying to get to the net to prevent that 2nd Brock attempt. If Zadorov wasn't there the Preds defenders may have gotten to Brock.

    A big moment too is Josi doing a cross check right in front of their net and that puts him grossly out of position leaving 3 from Vancouver at the net with zero contest. I love seeing karma on the ice.

    Important points:
    - Silovs was in net to replace DeSmith (he's now 4-0-1 this year)
    - Canucks had 2 shots on goal going into the last 5 minutes of 3rd, Preds had 11.
    - Boeser scores with 3 minutes left
    - Sissons hits the post with 1:45 left
    - Hughes breaks Nyquist's ankles, Boeser scores a hatty with 8 seconds left
    - Garland feeds Lindholm to end the game 62 seconds into OT

    One thing to also mention, is Sissons also had his teammate wide open in the slot before he was about to backhand the puck at the empty net. If he dumps that puck into the slot with a backhand pass, his teammate (who had nobody remotely close to him) has all day to put that in.

  • @stephengiles4249
    @stephengiles4249 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I can't read through 400 comments so I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but Nashville lost because Sissons took a selfish shot and failed. All he had to do was send a pass over to the slot and Jankowski had a wide open look to the empty net. Hughes of the Canucks had his back to the slot so he could not have stopped the shot. There was a huge gap between the Canuck defenders so sending a pass to the slot was the best move Sissons could have made. This one play, lasting maybe four seconds, has probably cost Nashville the series. We'll have a better idea after we some more games with Silovs. If he stands on his head in upcoming games then maybe he could have beaten Nashville in two out of three. Stay tuned!

    Great analysis! Not much said about Forsberg (#9) on the OT goal. Just skating around watching the play, and not really covering anyone. Where was he going when O'Reilly went out to the point? Hoping for a loose puck to get out of the zone. As a result he looses site of Lindholm who he should have been covering, and would have if he stayed in his position. Make a mistake like that, and any hard working team will be able to take advantage, as we saw.
