Can you do this using an Action, to automate it? (select all on layer and copy to other layer) It's not a menu-driven recordable step so it doesn't fit the Actions mold.
I'm not 100% sure as it wouldn't be clear which layer you want to copy to. Then again if an action is involved the usual copy paste wouldn't be much longer than triggering an action.
That's a great technique. Thank you. But what if you want to COPY the object onto a new layer, and have it appear in the same position as the original object?
you will still get sqaure indicators when selecting multiple objects and drag them one after another. Or with multiple selected just hit CMD/CTRL+G to group them together ....and then just drag one indicator on the new layer.
Every time I have to use this program I am amazed at the idiocy that went into the design.
