An addition to the new ‘Retro Colour Collection,’ this piece is inspired by one of Seiko's iconic heritage pieces from 1969: the ‘Checkered Flag,’ channelling vintage 1960s style.
The design of this watch pays tribute to the popular Seiko 5 Sports watches from the late 1960s which were a firm fan favourite.
The overall look is a combination of newness and heritage - with the dial and the hands being new designs, common to this Retro Colour collection.
The case is based on the SKX series case, whilst the bezel resembles the original 1960s models. It has ‘Special Edition’ engraved on the case back.
As a re-creation of the 1969 piece, this model maintains the looks and petrol blue colour scheme. It features the same dial, 60s-style hands, and checkered bezel as the original.
Seiko 5 Sports watches are known for over fifty years of reliability, durability, performance, and value. ‘’5’’ represents the original five key features of every Seiko 5 still present today: Automatic movement, Day-date display, Water Resistance, Recessed crown and Durable case and bracelet.
The mechanism used is an in-house-built 4R36 automatic movement with manual winding capacity. This calibre movement is complete with 24 Jewels and a 41-hour power reserve.
The easy to read dial features luminous indexes and hands.
