Buffalonian here. The fact you enjoyed this so much, plus saying you're favorite lead singers were Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell, really makes me happy. Cheers
This was a free concert in downtown Buffalo where Im from and where the goo's are from too... on July 4th 2004....what a great night and such a great concert...I was right up front!
Iris was their greatest hit, sales-wise, and where it is a great song... they have so many others. Slide, Name, Black Balloon, Here Is Gone, Better Days, Long Way Down, Acoustic #3, Naked, Let Love In, and soooo many more.
the Dolls were my girlfriends fav band, she passed and when I saw your reaction I thought about watching but it took about a minute before I was crying as hard as the day she died, I don't know why I am commenting this but I miss her badly
I was there, fourth of July 2004. They performed on the steps of city hall. That's why they had no cover. We stood in ankle deep water around Niagara square. Epic show
Hey Mia. The Goo Goo Dolls, a Buffalo based band, known for alt rock and pop rock and guess what? They're touring in '25!!! Been active since '85. so many more songs to go!! Thank you for posting and reacting.🤘😎🤘Carry on!➡➡➡➡➡
speakin as a musician myself, (lead guitar) when ur in that moment of playing, in the music..whole world just...isnt there anymore.. even if only for those moments ur playing in the moment. is what makes music truly a magical gift to ur all.
I think what happens is that these concerts were all pretty much before cell phones. The concerts I went to as a kid in the 80's & 90's were incredible experiences for the most part. There was not that extra layer or wall that is concert goers filming with thier phones. There used to be a connection between the act and the crowds, and much more interaction. There was a sense of community. Now, everything seems lifeless in many ways.
This is live on Fourth of July in buffalo. They are from there, they gave a free concert . You need to see Slide from this concert. As he begins to play, the sun comes out, slide is on another level! Oh hey, Eddie vedder from pearl Jam and Chris Cornell from audio slave were co lead singers of temple of the dog. If you like them check out hunger strike by Temple of the Dog!
This band was our hometown secret here in Buffalo New York!!!! They started out as a Punk-Rock band (not alternative) playing in dive bars barely scrapping by, when they made the change to Pop-Rock they exploded and were no longer our little secret!!!!!! I am in this sea of humanity in the second row soaking wet but it was worth it!!!!!!
For six years, every time we would visit my wife’s parents in Buffalo a Goo Goo Dolls song would be playing on whatever radio station we had on when we got close to the city. When we eventually moved back to WNY, it was there again, welcoming us home. Not necessarily my favorite band from my youth, but definitely the one that makes me feel most nostalgic.
This song is a classic thank you Mia for the reaction I always look forward to Ur upload U get even more stunning on every upload sending you big hugs 🤗🤗
I love the Goo Goo Dolls. I’ve seen them twice. They never played my favorite song Notbroken. Iris is the best song. But watch “Notbroken” music video🙏
Love this. Im from Buffalo and they are too. This was a show on the waterfront on July 4th. Wasn't there but epic song in an epic moment that they loved so much they made it their official live video.
This was happen in New York in 2004... My friend told me he was there, he said so fcking Amazing when its raining.... This song is one of my favorite songs,i will never remove when my time is come.. Sorry for my English, i am half Finn & Mizo 🇫🇮
Hello, I'm Brazilian and I've been following your videos for some time, this song is one of my favorites I think I listen to it every day, today there are no more good songs like this one. I'm crazy about this song, I also really like the song Here Without You - 3doordown.
Good song. Good reaction. Good performance. Managing that stuff in the rain is NOT easy. Liking a lot of the picks for reactions. You're reading my mind on a lot of these. There is still A LOT of great music that is still out there for you to react to. It just might not have a billion views because of what's mainstream today. Great music is timeless. My friends and I would play some Goo Goo Dolls stuff just messing around. They were very popular in their time. Black Balloon, Name, Slide are just a few I can think of.
Music from this time is forever golden like y’all don’t understand they in the rain singing but today let something like this happen they cancel the show run with your money. I’m a 90s baby and man 🤦🏾♂️ shit wild how thing change for the worst especially in music today . Music from 90 to late 00s (2012) you can feel it now you can’t
Yep, Nic Cage was in it. Dated a girl that was obsessed with the movie and this song. The last lines of the movie is Nic's character saying something like, "it was worth it for one touch of her hair, one kiss of her lips, one..." or something like that.
The Goo Goo Dolls are from the 90's. They're an Alternative band. Most good music died when the 90's bands retired... Lucky for us there are some bands from the 80's and 90's that are still making music.
😪😪😪 And I'd give up forever to touch you 'Cause I know that you feel me somehow You're the closest to Heaven that I'll ever be And I don't wanna go home right now
Since you loved this you have to check out the Japanese Rock band called ONE OK ROCK, you'll love them. They're much better live than in the studio. They recently did a live concert that was 2+ hours and rained the entire time. They just posted a song "Make it out Alive" from that concert in Kaohsiung. They have one of the best vocalists you'll hear.
I would have listened to the studio version first tbh. All these band came out the late 80s and early to mid 90s as part of the broader alternative rock (including grunge) scene, Including your other favorite singers and bands so far. I was a wound kid during this time, and the music really was something else.
Another great live proformabce. Not sure if you mentioned it or not but this song is on the sound track from the movie "City of Angels" They have a number of good songs you might also enjoy.
Count me in as a fan. You are as captivating as the song. Goodness gracious. I would love to hear you react to Incubus and Deftones (Change In The House of Flies, or Digital Bath).
This is a great song, one of the best from that era. Wait until Mia discover Michael Hutchence from INXS. Songs like Never Tear Us Apart, Need You Tonight, Don't Change. But definitely love your reactions to some of the great music from the 80's and early 90's.
You mentioned lucky. They still tour Mia. They just did a show either this past summer or 2 summers ago back at their hometown. Check into when you can see them play.
This was a great performance. You should watch Bush live doing Glycerine in the rain at I think MTV Spring Break back in the day. I know you reacted to the song already but that live version Gavin’s voice just hits different. Love you Mia your spectrum of music is like mine glad you are experiencing all these great bands! ❤❤❤
Eddie Van Halen - Eruption is nothing but him doing incredible things with a guitar. One of the best players ever. Slash ft.Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators - Anastasia | Live in Sydney - underrated performance for Slash from Guns N Roses. Some of his best work.
Ah... 1998. I was 15, and it was my first time having a girlfriend. This was "our song." She ditched me to chase my best friend. It was a while before I could listen to this song again without feeling salty lol. I would suggest Name, and Long Way Down. This band started more alternative and hard rock at first, but this song ended up with them changing their style to fit a certain vibe, and that really annoyed me.
Johnny Rzeznik is almost better live than he is in studio, although the guitar chords will change between versions. But he's got a great energy, and a great chemistry with Rob (bass) and Mike (drums). GGD has been one of my two first-place favorite bands for most of my life, and they're an amazing mental health band for when the world gets crazy. This is their most famous song, but their entire catalogue is worth checking out. Also, I absolutely love your smile as you discover new favorite parts of the song. As a lifelong fan (who was at least a teenager in '04) it makes me happy, seeing your joy. And the name "Goo Goo Dolls" doesn't really give them a modern sound, so you're totally forgiven for thinking they were from the seventies. XD
