Hello there Jules. I’ve been a long time lurker on your videos - they’re hugely enjoyable and I love your calm and relaxed persona. This particular video was especially enjoyable. I get a real nostalgia pang when I see old Puffin covers - such a childhood staple when I was growing up. My edition of Charlotte’s Web is very dear to me, although it’s a 70s film tie-in edition rather than the edition in your collection. That book broke my 10 year old heart! Charlotte's Web is a modern classic. I first read it in the mid 70's and have always loved the story 🙂

@@JulesBurt Cleaning and repairing. I just love the look of them and I do a bit of it myself when I can with my own collection. I've about 2000 or so religious harbacks from the 19th and early 20th century from the days when I was into that sort of thing, but I still love my books. I have to say I wasn't that into paperbacks and couldn't see the beauty in them as much, perhaps because they are cheaper and flimsier and in my mind don't last as long or stay as nice over the long decades, but you have shown me otherwise. Those old paperbacks need some love too.
@@JulesBurt I have cleaned a few. It's certainly enjoyable. I used to sell second hand books too and I'd always clean those, so I know a thing or two about the process. Removing stickers safely and that sort of thing. Some of those old book are so crusty and they're very nice to clean. Thanks for the videos.
Reflecting back to my primary school days the puffin book brochure i read with great enthuiasm well put together price list etc a great way to improve the understanding element of story telling through pictures sentences punctation a learning to keep within education to promote communication ↩

I was making a list of all the story books i had read..but list grew along with the memories...i have read..most or something by the writers...Strange after so much time i can still recall much...Spot on on the E.B White...and the others...And thoes Post Cards...Its so good that many of the books are still in print. And well worth a read or reread ( yes adults 😲😁) .Some may be ' politicaly not correct ' But read. Ps I find that many of my faves here are english...Ps i must have already ask some time back...but have you ever collected the ' Ladybird 'books ?..
Thought you might like this one Sylvan. Lots of real classics. I used to have about 100 vintage Ladybird books but I sold them about 10 years ago. Can't keep it all🙂

@@JulesBurt Cleaning and repairing. I just love the look of them and I do a bit of it myself when I can with my own collection. I've about 2000 or so religious harbacks from the 19th and early 20th century from the days when I was into that sort of thing, but I still love my books. I have to say I wasn't that into paperbacks and couldn't see the beauty in them as much, perhaps because they are cheaper and flimsier and in my mind don't last as long or stay as nice over the long decades, but you have shown me otherwise. Those old paperbacks need some love too.
Wow, that's a lot of hardbacks you have there. Have you started the cleaning process yet? I certainly intend to do more when I get the chance.

I can imagine that brochure was superb, if other Puffin paperwork is anything to go by.
