Absolutely superb as usual. The last card video encouraged me to start buying the old sets again and now have 3 more Batman Sets, The Monkees, The Beatles and various automotive sets. Great fun and wonderful memories. Thank you very much
This was so unexpected. And i loved every moment. O the memories,i could hear some of the performers, coming out of my B&W telly. And the LP and 45s.I am more a fan of the comics ,movie and TV show cards. But this had me " all shock up and doing the twitch (twist)😂 I remember having the movie stars cards , me and my sibs played star wars( no that one ) The Yul Bryner card beat all others 😂( my brother was the judge ).I had the Beatles Yellow Submarine cards .19:25 a reminder that all is not gold😢.Lots of the artist are gone and even forgotten. Some were " one hit wonders " My gosh, this your best yet .Blue Mink american pot ( no not that pot ). American TOP 40😊😊😊.Loved The Seekers.Thank you Andy. Thank you Jules.Bye. Ps 37:46 yul Bryner 😂.
@@JulesBurt Thank you, it is one of my all time favorite shows. I also have Star Trek cards, but different sets, some of them are from the 60's. Do you know that Wonder bread in the 60's had cards of the Astronauts? I have some of them, my Dad collected them and gave them to me when I was old enough to take care of them.
Always interesting and fun when the inimitable Andy drops by Studio Jules 1! The 50’s-60’s cards were fascinating to see, but my mind wandered when the 70’s came around. I was actually a teenager in the 70’s and current music was not my thing. AMERICAN GRAFFITI had introduced me to early rock and roll and right about that time the golden oldies radio stations started and I immersed myself in those roots. New Wave in the 80’s brought me back to the present, but I more or less skipped a lot of the 70’s, especially disco. Anyway, some interesting card sets here and Andy’s background knowledge is always welcome!
Thanks Glen, understood my friend. I know what you mean with those 70's cards. I remember some of the acts of course but not them all. I rely on Andy's knowledge here, he's the card expert. I rewatched American Graffiti recently and loved it!🙂
I heard that when these gum manufacturers (and hundreds of other makers of cheap stuff) approached Brian Epstein re Beatles-Themed sets he said : "We want 10% just for the use of the band's name AND NO LESS!" When he should probably have demanded 90%. Not that I feel too sorry for them getting 'ripped off'. They were getting all their taken earnings taken by the TAXMAN by that time anyway.
Hi there and so right off the bat I sure do like the Elvis UK ones . My set is later and I do have the box and the cards as well but mine is a US set :)!!! I do like the next set but don't know the next set lol. So cool you have the Beatles one as well . I do have the UK wrapper and a few of the UK cards but have all of the US Beatles card with the boxes as well :). ... I need to get more UK Beatles ones but a bit hard to get here lol!!! The UK Beatles cards are a bit smaller then the US cards. That is how you can tell the difference on them :). Wow I sure do like a lot of the British bands and the cards as well :). Stones wow nice!!!!! O wow the Monkees :). Is there a full set of Cliff Richards and is there a set of cards on Madness. Nice 74 and you have the box wow !! Yes I did see some from top of the pops. I sure did enjoy this a lot !!!!! I do think that the two of you did well for this video :)!!! I hope you both have a great Christmas and take care!!!!!!
Thanks Brad, really glad you enjoyed the video. It's awesome you have all The Beatles US sets, I'm very jealous 🙂 The Stones set is superb, a real gem. Don't think there was ever a dedicated Cliff Richard set or one for Madness, but they did get a one off comic 'The Nutty Boys'.
I did enjoy your video well done you :). I do like Madness and I do have that one you are talking about lol. But your collection we great. Have a great Christmas and see you later!!!!!!
@@beatlebrad5339 Hi Brad, thanks for your kind comments. There was a Cliff Richard gum card set in the UK, 50 black & white cards (blank backs) issued by Leaf in the early 1960s. No Madness set, though they did have stickers in some of the Panini Smash Hits sets in the 1980s.
Blue Mink " Melting Pot "😊

God this was like watching your TV viewing life in 40 minutes !
Ha! Hopefully that's a good thing🙂
love this! we had mostly cards from movies or TV shows from the 70s, but still really loved seeing these rock ones!
Me too, I never had any of these. Fascinating to look through though 🙂

Was that a Mr Glitter picture that was blurred out?
Yes it was, don't want him sullying the channel.

Yep, a deal like that today would be handled very differently 👍
