Well, they are much more mature in their musical careers. Most bands that play this style don't push out this kind of quality until they've been at it for 10-20 years, to be honest. Ascendancy was a prodigious performance, a true outlier of performance for a bunch of 19-year-olds. They were so young when that came out, but really as good as Ascendancy is, it is technically and musically nowhere near what they do in TSATS and WTDMS. These guys are about 32-33 years old man. They are just getting started...
Can we expect a full album reaction like you did for Sin? Great reactions man!!! Ps. Loved this song!! Getting vibes from every Trivium album on this song, but for me it’s like a combination of Chaos Reigns, Skylines Severance, and Wretchedness Inside!!!!
Amongst the shadows and the stone I think is the best song they have put out off this album so far then followed by catastrophist with what the dead men say right on its ass. No matter what I think Trivium is going to treat us to another great album and having Alex Bent on the kit now feels like the band is finally complete. Which is why all the new material is so fucking good. Bravo TRIVIUM.....
The 3 songs remind me more of Shogun in terms of changes . I would say one thing that defines the band right now : expect the unexpected. Paolo said that proggy fans would love the record.
You know Trivium are on the peak of their creative phase, when they have prog parts in their album. That's what made Shogun a majestic release and later The Sin and the Sentence.
It’s crazy to think that the band is still somewhat “young”. I think everyone except for Alex are in their 30s. This is a band that still has a solid 10 years of fantastic music before start decreasing in quality, and even then the band will be putting out fantastic music for at least 20 more years
I was getting a little bit of old Sepultura (Roots) riffs on this song. During the "THE HARDER WE FIGHT THE FAATER WE FALLL" part, it kinda sounded like some riffs off that album and I LOVE it.
Watching your reactions make me fall in love with the songs even more, was the same on The Sin And The Sentence videos you made, great video once again Sir 👍
It’s great how they’re doing the singles for this album. They started with Catastrophist, a song that’s heavy at the heart but it’s the most “tame” of the 3 singles. Then came the title track which upped the intensity and technicality from Catastrophist. Now Amongst the Shadows and the Stones, which is just a relentless set of riffs and commanding lyrics from Matt. Each new single makes me even more hyped for the album. Just one more week!!
You look like the happiest man in the world! I love your reactions bro! Also, this song is awesome! I can't wait to listen to the whole record and then watch you reacting to it
They just need to keep Alex forever they cant go to a different drummer now from SATS to this his drumming is just insane this song blew my mind in my first hearing and honestly Im definitely gonna pre order the vinyl
Awesome song! It's interesting if you listen to their earlier albums (Ember to Inferno or Ascendancy) Matt screams in the verses and sings clean in the chorus, and on newer albums it's the other way around with clean singing in the verse and screaming in the chorus. I've been listening to them since Ascendancy came out (which is my favorite by them) my second being The Sin and the Sentence and third being Shogun. But these new songs sound like this album is going to kick a lot of ass too!
I can just tell this album is going to be amazing. This is my favourite song so far. Regarding recent albums, they've never hit their true potential with VF and silence. After listening to shogun when it first came out, i wanted all their future albums to be hitting that same mark as they did with that album. And with sin and the sentence it was heading in the right direction but I feel this new album will be their best yet.
When I heard this song for the fist time I wasn't aware of the time remaining and there's a part when it sounded like it was gonna end there and I said to myself "is that it?" And then started back again and it felt beautiful because it was completely unexpected to me
Lamb of God have fucked everything with that album. 2020 is such a strong year for metal with all these releases, also check out the new Sepultura album
I am convinced that this band is getting fed power levels of inspiration by Satan himself. Such godly content wtf? It's like they grab different wishes from the hivemind of the world and stick that shit together and spit out these songs that appeal to everybody. I love it.
Bonjour, je suis du Québec au Canada et j'écoute tes vidéos. J'aime bien ton enthousiasme lorsque tu commentes les nouvelles chansons. Lâche pas ton bon travail
@@RyuujinLetum Every artsy video takes away from the music a little bit. Especially on reaction channels. I don't want to see someone reacting to a guy moving a Ouija board, I want to see them reacting to the song.
FUCK this song is good! Always look forward to your Trivium reactions, ever since TSATS. Would love to see you get around to Alter Bridge eventually, but this is some good shit! Keep it up.
This is the only song that I’ve been amazed by on this album so far. The title track is a miss and I have mixed feelings on Catastrophist, but Amongst the Shadows & the Stones has some awesome moments. Particularly the drumming in the bridge. The drumming there reminds me of Matt Halpern and Baard Kolstad with all the tom work and there are moments in the song that remind me of Mike Portnoy too. I’m also glad there weren’t any blast beats in this song. Alex Bent really showed me something in this song. While the vocals are still weaker and a step back, the instrumentals make up for it and then some and it’s an amazing song. This song gives me hope for What the Dead Men Say.
the difference between what the dead men say and amongst the shadows and the stones are .. what the dead men say - it has full blast beats parts amongst the shadows and the stones - don't have a blast beats parts 🤣🤣
IMO I don't care about harsh vocals, it's a nice touch but it doesn't interest me. To me a Trivium song doesn't need harsh vocals to sound heavy. Matt's voice is always amazing and i prefer his clean vocals. What makes their sound heavy are the riffs and the drumming Alex is perfect for Trivium here's hoping he stays with the band.
THIS SONG!!! So many moments I freaked out over! THANK YOU TRIVIUM!
Honestly it's really entertaining to see the joy this song brings you, my first time hearing it i felt the same 🤣
Just slapped your face off huh
I was waiting to your reaction after the last chorus when it goes full thrash haha
Song is straight nuts. Just with the three songs already this album might become my favorite from the band!
It’s crazy that they’re peaking at this point in their career.
or is it the peak...
What happens when you have a drummer as great as Bent to elevate them to this point of greatness 🤘🏽
@@ebear1454 They deserve each other. Trivium are more complete than never!
Well, i tough The Sin and The Sentence was the peak, oh boy, i was wrong...

His vocals are the best they've ever sounded, they're making some of the best music of their career, 20 plus years in......
Yeah I agree. His vocals are even more brutal and melodic than ever.

@@KaRaTeLoRd11PS3 pretty much sums it up
I sense a LOT of early Lamb of God riffage in this song, reminiscent of As the Palaces Burn and Ashes of the Wake, absolutely killer!!
I was getting a little bit of old Sepultura (Roots) riffs on this song. During the "THE HARDER WE FIGHT THE FAATER WE FALLL" part, it kinda sounded like some riffs off that album and I LOVE it.
Alex Wadeee thats EXACTLY what I was going to say as well
@@metalligeek093 awesome 🤘glad I'm not alone haha!
i got heavy LOB influence and even some Metallica
The riff at 9:13 (in this video) kind of reminds me of that riff at the 0:38 mark of “Blood of the Scribe”
5:10 casually geeks out over guitar solo

The New Trivium Album called What Dead Men Say. They dropped today. The whole Album Kicks Ass. 🤟🇺🇸🔥🎸🎤🥁
I do not care how many people react to trivium now, I will always go to the OG first. Love it dude!
How do people not like this album? This is magical

This album will already by album of the year without a shadow of a doubt!!!!

It’s not really a pass, they earn all the potential money from videos with their songs, which is fine cause the band deserves it.
what the dead men say is special.. the new song is like a bunch of old riffs put on together
