The “legendary, one and only!” Patuxent Jazz Band gives its debut Columbia Festival of the Arts performance at Lakefest 2024! PJB played the second slot on the second day of the three-day festival, revelling in some of the best weather of the weekend and bringing some hot jazz to the eager crowd of arts-lovers. Nestled just next to a beautiful running fountain to keep the heat down, the band delivered a tour de force in one of their best performances yet.

The Patuxent Jazz Band is an ensemble formed as the Columbia Big Band in October 2015. Our repertoire covers genres such as traditional Big Band, Bebop, Fusion, Swing and Latin, among others. We are members of the community who enjoy performing for all audiences. Though some members play and teach music professionally, the members are volunteers employed in a wide variety of professions who share a love of music. PJB is one of several bands within the Columbia Bands non-profit organization. The Patuxent Jazz Band hopes to bring the enjoyment of jazz music to a wide audience. We look forward to seeing you at our concerts!
