I agree with Kenneth! THE best movie about Ireland with THE best songs. If you don't want to go there after this, then you're dead and just don't know it yet
Now, would your Da indeed be Maureen's brother James "Father Paul," at the keyboard, or Sean McClory to his right in the light coloured suit, or even Jack "Feeney" MacGowran to his left?
@@Darksideadept I'm recalling a back and forth we had in very early 2017, regarding your Aunt's whisper to the Duke at the end of TQM, and the generosity of many her personal items being offered to fans at auction the previous November. Good to hear from you again, Kevin.
ABSOLUTLEY the all time best, "they just dont make um like this any more" I remember they showed this on Christmas eve in the 1990's and I watched it again on new years eve on video at my in laws and then bought the "directors cut video" which showed how and why the film was made with background footage. If you can still get it then grab a copy as its an interesting video
T'is indeed, Anne, which I o' course revisited last week on St. Pat's day! After decades of less than stellar vhs & dvd copies, all of which had 3-strip technicolor registration and fading/deterioration issues; Olive Films has released a 4K blu-ray, which has been fully-restored from the original camera negative, so it looks and sounds the best it possibly ever has, and likely ever will. Good humour on us all, to be sure! And Ronnie's version is truly folky 'n' fun.
I'd love it if those fellers sang the whole thing. Reminds me of back home out the bay in Newfoundland. Except we'd be playing it on Accordion rather than the Harpsichord
The absolute BEST MOVIE EVER!! ☘️👍❤️
A sleepin bag?!!. LOL
The greatest movie from my childhood!.. We watch it every St. Patrick's day it's the tradition!.
Who gave this a thumbs down sake . Beilliant movie timeless

+Molly Meehan hey my grandmothers maiden name was Meehan and my mother has cousins that are meehans
Interesting moment at the end there, echoed in the late 1960's in the famous ending of "The Graduate."
I sang this at me brother's wedding.
Thanks for uploading the scene with my father in it. It means more to me than you could know.

@@questjonmark I am the son of Maureen's youngest brother James Fitzsimons (O'Hara), you know him as Father Paul the young priest.

Love the Song - Ronnie Drew does a great aul job of it. But do tell - what is the movie? Is it The Quiet Man?

@@mariojohnston7147 The Searchers is my favorite of his westerns. Epic.
@@williamsmith8790 i love that too. Uncle ethan is the man .
This was his personal favorite. His friends and family members are scattered throughout the cast. He and Maureen O'Hara were perfect for each other.
@@constancemiller3753 I got to go to Cong (Innishfree) a few years ago. Got a cup of coffee at Cohan’s.
