Jonny Mac's Shore 104 Audition
Surprised doesn't describe how I felt after receiving a call from Shore104.3FM Vancouver Program Director, Patrick Zulinov, that this goofy li'l audition video won an On-Air Contest to choose the playlist for an entire hour one Friday, September 24th, 2010 night; at a station whose format of "Roots, Rock & Rhythm," should have lasted much longer than it did! Keep on rockin’ . . . !

Taken with a wee Canon Sureshot bungee'd to the handlebars during a family vacation at the Cultus Lake Thousand Trails RV resort. The gent in the VW Rabbit who'd followed me the day before, told me that in the longest straightaway, he looked down at his speedometer and it read just over 80 km/hr.

Park Street Players "Music"

Really "Music Theatre," of course. While putting the "Limelight" slideshow together, I was trying to show my fellow Park Street Players in their best light. This one was intended for Duff. I purposely saved most photos of Ted for this presentation. And my word, I was certainly sent some fantastic, heart tugging, expressive photographs from some wonderful people. ABSOLUTLEY the all time best, "they just dont make um like this any more" I remember they showed this on Christmas eve in the 1990's and I watched it again on new years eve on video at my in laws and then bought the "directors cut video" which showed how and why the film was made with background footage. If you can still get it then grab a copy as its an interesting video

This was his personal favorite. His friends and family members are scattered throughout the cast. He and Maureen O'Hara were perfect for each other.

T'is indeed, Anne, which I o' course revisited last week on St. Pat's day! After decades of less than stellar vhs & dvd copies, all of which had 3-strip technicolor registration and fading/deterioration issues; Olive Films has released a 4K blu-ray, which has been fully-restored from the original camera negative, so it looks and sounds the best it possibly ever has, and likely ever will. Good humour on us all, to be sure! And Ronnie's version is truly folky 'n' fun.
