Top 3 podcast for me. Have listened to just about every episode for….. a number of years!! One of the few sports commentary which is both incredibly intelligent and non-toxic! A rare feat! Love Windy, Nathan, and Bardi.
Fun video, thanks for putting the effort in. Sadly I disagree with most of it though. - Have to push back on this Walker Peters idea. It's too much money to spend on a player who 1) isn't that good 2) is probably fourth choice right back right now 3) isn't a left back 4) is defensively suspect 5) is physically small, which isn't going to help our set piece issues - I get that KWP is a decision mainly driven by the UEFA club trained rule, I just don't think we should be spending £25m plus on a player purely for Europa League. My solution would be to promote some academy players to the first team squad if you need to fill it out. Would KWP even definitely be above Davies and Spence at LB? Just get an actual left back back up we can use in the Prem, ideally one who can also play at LCB. - Moving on Kulu is another really questionable call to me. Can play RW, #10, and false #9, and he had the second highest output in the squad last year in terms of goals + xA (16) behind only Son. If you lose him you have to find those goals somewhere. By comparison Maddison notched up 9, Brennan 12. Kulu's not perfect by any means but there are plenty of players we should be thinking of moving before him. - £70 release clause for Eze is way too much. Good player but he's behind Maddison in midfield and behind Son at LW. Use that money on a first choice RW or CF. - No way do we need to spend £50m on another CB. Especially when Phillips could potentially be ready to step up. - You mention the #6, agree it's an issue and Bentancur isn't the ideal solution, but the market is terrible for #6s when you see limited players like Onana and Palhinha moving for 50m plus. I'd just play a double pivot with a combination of Gray, Benta, Sarr, Bissouma, Devine, maybe Hall eventually. And maybe get in a cheaper prospect this summer like Burger or Hackney. - Agree another #8 like Ramsey or Gallagher is surplus to requirements. My solutions: - Spend 50m on a starting striker, 50m on a first choice RW, 30m on a LB/LCB hybrid. Fill out the rest of the holes with prospects. If we can sell Richarlison, do, he's not that good and always injured, and invest it in another striker, which would give us £110m for 2 strikers which should be ample. (Side note - where are you getting 75m for David from? He's available for 25m). So maybe something like Gyokeres 80m, David 25m, Neto (or alternatively someone who isn't constantly injured) 50m, Locko 30m. If HG is an issue, then maybe Toney or Solanke instead. - Admittedly I'm not really taking the club trained thing into account, but again I don't think we should be basing our transfer window on that rule. Just use Europa as a proving ground for the academy anyway.
Agree with most of that. The 4 academy trained for Europa should be from the current U21 squad. I'd get Eze though. Manu Kone, Yusuf Fofana and Ederson are all good 6 options. Toney and Openda not on the striker list....they'd come to less than the combined Kane and Richarlison fees.
Great video. Very organized and informative spreadsheet that brings a greater level of realism to what spurs footballing department actually has to work with.
David Button is the answer. Button is experienced in championship - his levels may be dropping a bit.But he can replace Forster and solve Club trained player issue. That means we dont need to go for KWP or Todibo and bring in Geertruida.
One play not mentioned was Alfie Dougherty. Home-grown left-footed LB who can also play RB. I think he suits inverted role okay and also a good set-piece taker. If you need someone in the Venn diagram of home-grown and left-footed I think he's the one. Especially if we get rid of Spence.
In case maddison, he is really special player sometimes he play as 10 , then sometimes drop back to play as regista. He's range of passess is real asset. I think there not much player like him right now...

Unfortunate that Pavlidis had already gone to Benfica. Seemed like the complementary all rounder profile that we needed. Surprised that no PL teams were looking at him over the past couple of windows.
Todibo would be a wasted buy. Davies is perfectly fine as a 4th choice CB, better fit for the squad mix, has a year left on his contract so no real sale value, and keeps a place warm for Phillips for a year when he's a bit more ready to play. Todibo is great value and will be a great signing for teams but he's not going to displace Romero or VDV so it would be a waste of money and non HG squad place
I like what you did here, but I feel the squad you've built is worse than the squad we have. Defense: Todibo is cheap for the player he is, but we really don't need another RCB. Dragusin has proved that he can do it. Selling Skipp to get KWP doesn't help really, if we give Spence a chance. Also Gray could play there. We don't need another RB anyway. We need a LCB/LB though for sure. Midfield: I personally think Bissouma is our worst player in the starting 11. So either Gray starts there (or Bentancur) or we buy a CDM. The Eze transfer makes sense and Kulusevski stays imo to cover for Eze/Madders or play as RW. Eze is the profile we need 100%. Maybe I'd sell Bissouma. Also, I'm not sure if Sarr will become HG in September. Attack: Imo our striker options should be Son or Richy. No new striker. They are all too expensive for what they provide. So my starter LW will be Eze and my starter RW BJ/Kulu with Son striker. I would buy another fast dribbler. Zhergova isn't a bad shout, Nico is not realistic. So to sum it up: Transfers in: Eze, LCB/LB , another dribbler, a DM( if Bissouma leaves). Transfers out: all the players I won't register. UEFA registration: HG (at the club) : Skipp, Austin, another GK, Devine? HG(in country) : Maddison, BJ, Spence, Gray, Eze, Davies rest 15: Son, Werner, Kulu, Vic, Porro, Romero, VdV, Udogie, Dragusin, Sarr, Bentancur, Bergvall, Bissouma, Hancko, Nicolas Gonzalez Actually I don't think we need many changes for this season, just 2-3 important players like Eze.

I was doing the same thing on a notepad 📝 after listening to your last pod yesterday and here’s what I came up with. Sell Richy and Forster (along with everyone on your “ship them out” list except for Whiteman bc he is club trained) and add Eze Gyokeres while promoting Phillips to the Association trained list as our 4th CB (at least until January so we can see how he does and how we did in the group stage). Then the younger u-21 guys (Hall, Black, Gunter & Moore) can stick around and split time between 1st Team and 21’s, while the more experienced U-21’s (Donely, Lankshear, Dorrington, Keeley, Soonsup-Bell, Abbot & Veliz) can go out on loan While these 2 (John & Santiago) could be sold with a buy-back/sell-on clause. I think that gives us enough flexibility with roster construction without blocking pathways for too many of our young guys. I think Eze can play the dribbly boy role well enough, but If, however, one of your top end dribbly boys (Williams, Doue, or Bakayoko) becomes a possibility then we should get them in and loan out Phillips or sell Ben Davies to make room in the squad. Spence’s and Gray’s versatility will be key for providing defensive cover. Thanks for putting up with my huge ass post. I’ve been nerding out on my own and needed to share with someone!!

Agoume - aerial duels, ball winner, passing range + volume
Cherki - EVERYTHING
Dorgu/Locko
@@athreyathandeswaran7510Tammy Abraham hell nah. Cherki is very talented however too expensive for a backup option. We need geetruda
Why no Neto for the left footed player? That’s a player we actually have links with.
Too risky for the money. Injury prone, can’t afford any passengers. Excellent player though
@@Coys1970 Agree
Isn't Murillo the total dream cover LCB/LB/No6.
Lacks the athleticism, I think.
@@TheExtraInch Maybe so, I couldn't definitively say otherwise but he makes a good impression to me. Athletically I thought he'd be able, it's the spacial awareness as No6 which ofc is always the big question. Hope Biss gets a tag team buddy anyway.. No6 twice a week, every week! Yikes. Great stuff guys, thanks for reply.
Why do we still have Solomon
Simply because he was injured last season and didn't get a go of things it seems *shrug*
Because when Solomon has played in the premier league without injuries he has the best goals per minute(also in the UCL) of our entire squad besides Son.. in fact he's essentially tied with Son for goals per minute in the UCL and premier league. G/A he also clears every other player but Son. Have you seen him play for us?
We got him on a FREE transfer so there isn't a lot of pressure to move him on before his value drops more due to injuries.
@@roboticvenom1935 He has 0 goals.
Alt tabbing from excel to calculator in google? 😮
@@andrewpaterson8604 Haha. I should have prepared a big budget cell, you're right.
bald lads with beards and glasses who get stuck in the weeds with spreadsheets. Greetings from your long lost antipodean brother!
Where’s Neto ?
@@JohnDoe-tv4zf Personally, I removed him from my list when he got injured again.
That pronunciation of David Hancko was dreadful 😂 and he’s not balkan
