  • “We just love walking. It’s just like the way of life for us. It’s simple, it’s easy. You have so many opportunities and possibilities each and every day.”
Relive the East Coast Greenway adventure of Matt and Grace Grooms, perhaps better known as The Golden Road. The couple, along with their dogs Nemo and Foxi, departed Calais, Maine, on April 20, 2023, and walked the in-development Greenway route for the next 235 days, ultimately reaching Key West, Florida, and the southernmost point of the continental United States, on Dec. 11, 2023.

I have followed Matt and Grace from the very beginning of their first journey. Tiktok was where I found them. Being an avid hiker that advocates, I salute them on all that they are doing to draw awareness to a charity of choice. Beautiful video. Keep going 🥾🥾

I was blessed to meet Matt, Grace, Nemo, Foxy and Grace's parents on Key Haven, Florida, just before there final reach to the Southernmost Point.
They are incredible and I'll continue to follow as long as their adventures continue

I started following you on this journey about a week into it. I would check on your IG daily to see your progress. I loved the interactions you had with us when you did some Q & A sessions. If I wasn't as old as I am, I would love to have walked a great distance like you did. It was sad to see Timmy go but he was really getting to be. pain. I loved watching the trail from Monkey's point of view and enjoyed seeing Nemo's glare when you told her to sit in the cart when he had the foot issue. I travel the east coast often and in the past two months I drove from NJ to Miami. It was fun to see the same things you pointed out on your walks. (The very narrow 17S highways between Myrtle Beach SC and Charleston SC. The bridges with construction leaving you no where to safely walk. Miami, where there the ECG seems to simply disappear and the area after where alligators lurk!. Are you able to have someone create/edit your IG posts into one long video? They were very entertaining. Looking forward to watching you gut the bus-hopefully some day we will meet.
