- Welcome to our channel! We are Immy and Tani (full-time travel family) and today we share our first impressions of the old city of Jerusalem. This is located in Israel/Palestine and we are so excited to finally visit this special place as it was one of our top bucket list destinations. The core of Jerusalem, the Old City, has a history that stretches back more than 3,000 years. The present street plan dates largely from Byzantine times, with the walls and ramparts dating back to the 16th century. The crossroad of three continents, Jerusalem has been one of the most fought over cities in human history. Within the walls, the Old City is divided into four vaguely defined quarters: Christian, Armenian, Jewish and Muslim. In this vlog we will be exploring the life inside the walls of the old city of Jerusalem so do watch till the end and as always - GIVE OUR VIDEO A LIKE!

A little insight in to Jerusalem:
The Old City of Jerusalem (Hebrew: העיר העתיקה, Ha'Ir Ha'Atiqah, Arabic: البلدة القديمة, al-Balda al-Qadimah) is that part of Jerusalem surrounded by the impressive 16th-century Ottoman city walls and representing the heart of the city both historically and spiritually. In a city already divided, the Old City is further divided culturally and historically into four residential Quarters: (clockwise from the southeast) the Jewish, Armenian, Christian, and Muslim Quarters. A fifth area, the Haram esh-Sharif, contains the Dome of the Rock, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and other Muslim religious sites, and was once the site of the Jewish Temple. The whole Old City is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Immy & Tani, me with my family were waiting for this video soo keenly. Thanks for sharing a wonderful experience. Loved that you have shared some information about each spot you visited irrespective if it is of Jews, Christians and Muslims. Would love to see if you have captured more from the inside of Jesus area in church and also the Jews holy wall rituals etc. because we find a lot on mosque Aqsa, but not for the others. So amazing to see how 3 holy prophets' followers living together keeping their own identities.

I don't understand your language, but your beautiful wife uses just enough English that I'm able to get the 'gist'. I also love the Old City and can't get enough of it. As a teenager I would go with my friends to the Old City to play snooker (a kind of billiards) and just to walk the ally ways through the Shuk. Looking for more of your videos. How you got visa
@@maheenhaider8164 Pakistani passport is not valid for Israel, so you cannot get a visa in advance, but I believe you can enter from Jordan through the King Hussain / Allenby Bridge and they will grant you a paper visa, without endorsing your passport. I travelled on my U.S. passport without the Israeli endorsement, some Arab countries and Iran won't let you in, if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport.

I love to watch you guys, and especially love your videos of Lahore and Lahori food. I was happy to find these videos in Jerusalem which really uniquely capture what an interesting and misunderstood city Jerusalem is.
Incidentally, you mentioned the houses of the "settlers" in Jerusalem, and actually these people bought the property where they live. That might still make them "settlers" to some people, but I think the history of Pakistan makes it difficult for me to reflect too badly upon the actions of the Israelis considering that before Partition Lahore was quite multicultural and nearly 50% of its people were Hindu or Sikh, while since Partition Lahore is over 97% Muslim. I don't think we would say that Muslims living in Lahore today, even in old Hindu or Sikh neighborhoods are "settlers." It is very difficult for me to judge the Partition that lead to the creation of Israel too differently from the Partition that created Pakistan . . . they have a lot of similarities if you think about it, and considering that 1 million people died in the Partition of British India, and tens of millions of people involuntarily displaced so that the religions could be separated, while these cultures sit side by side in Jerusalem today, however imperfectly.
Dear just go through some history. What happened in 1920, who was Ballford and what he did , If the jews were killed by Germans and expelled by Europeans Then british govt should settle them in Britain or some European country . Why did they decided to settle them in Palestine . Where already millions of people were living

To your story at around 16:46, Omar (radhiallahu anhu) didn't want to pray inside the church because he feared that later the church might be turned into a masjid. Because of that he prayed outside of the church and later a masjid was built there (where he prayed) and that's the Omar Masjid that y'all prayed in.
