    SP Takegawa P-Shooter full exhaust: bit.ly/3gZxSM1
    I am changing the exhaust on my Super Cub to make room for the KipMoto SherpaX trailer mount. The factory exhaust doesn't provide ANY clearance near the axle bolt, so out with the old and in with the new! Unfortunately, this exhaust is much louder than the OEM unit, and it might be causing the engine to run lean. We'll be digging into the fuel maps with my DynoJet Power Vision 3 fuel tuner very soon! #supercub #sptakegawa #scbr

    I bought this exhaust for my cub too! I've been waiting around 2 months for it in the mail. Now I know it'll be worth it though.

    You guys are hardcore riders. The stock exhaust sounds exactly like the trail 110 I learned to ride in 1985. Too bad your son didn’t want to join the fun.

      He was on the fence whether he wanted to go or not. We took a trial ride on the Super Cubs and my CT125 up to the Austin area about 2.5 hours away. He immediately said, "NO... OH, HELL NO", to riding on the Super Cub's little saddle for ~12 hours/day for over 3 weeks straight. He could barely survive our 3-hour ride! It takes some dedication and glueteal fortitude to do these trips! 🤣👍 --QM

      I’ve heard that so many times from friends that won’t do an iron butt And say I’m nuts for attempting it on a Zuma 125. Love all the videos 👍👍

    How much would that impact to fuel economy. Like stock it would be 1.5 liter per 100km

    Looking at a few lower exhausts. Want them as far away from passenger foot pegs as possible. Want something more restrictive and quiet or even better, an exhaust that already has a hole in the header for the aracer auto tune ecu and plug sensor that way you never need worry about going lean and can do a light bore 143 kit in the future with pcx 150 injector and it will tune automatically. Would be so much easier with hole in header rather than tracking down someone to weld one in that would probably want 300 for the small job.

    Taking off stock exhaust which nuts/bolts are removed,do you have to remove all including header or just end can.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The OEM exhaust is a one-piece design, so you must remove the two header flange bolts and the swingarm support bracket bolt. The exhaust rotates out of place around the brake pedal... it takes a bit of maneuvering, but it's not difficult. 👍 --QM

    Old video don't expect reply. But is that a second fuel tank on the second Super Cub?..If so, I would very much like to know where from and how it is plumbed?...Thanks.

      Howdy! I try to read and reply to all comments, no matter how old the videos are!
      That center storage is an auxiliary fuel tank. It's one of only two "Neil tanks" in existence! I have one on my Cub, and a friend of mine, Adrian, has the other one. Our buddy, Neil, custom fabricated those tanks and mounting cradles for us before we left on our 10K-mile cross-country trip for the 2021 Scooter Cannonball Run.
      They hold about 1.3 gallons of fuel, but they aren't plumbed into the main fuel supply. The flat metal tops of these tanks worked perfectly to hold hydration bladders or tank bags. We used them as emergency fuel supplies and as transfer tanks during our extended road trip. You can see it in action here: th-cam.com/video/NYjmV7FqLOM/w-d-xo.html . Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

      @@QuasiMotard Many thanks for the reply..Always nice to get one if a video is a few years old...most folks just don't bother replying...But folks come across videos at differing times, and so may have questions long after the video has been posted....Anyway....Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

    I’m considering changing my stock exhaust but would need to know if there are any real performance benefits before I drop $350+. Is there a noticeable difference or is it mostly just the sound?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's just sound... and in my case, clearance for the rear axle so we can mount our KipMoto SherpaX trailers. The power actually seems to be down a bit with this exhaust (about 15% according to my butt dyno) compared to the original exhaust. This is probably because the catalytic converter has been deleted and the engine is likely running lean now. I'll be tuning the Honda EFI with the DynoJet Power Vision 3 very soon. 👍 --QM

    Sounds a little lean. Has this
    affected the fuel economy?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the bike was running a bit lean with this exhaust because it eliminated the catalytic converter. I used a DynoJet Power Vision 3 to fatten the fuel mixture (injector PWM control) about 5% at 65% throttle and ~10% at WOT.
      My fuel economy wasn't drastically impacted, but the engine always felt a bit down on power compared to the factory exhaust. I averaged 109 MPG over 10K miles during our Scooter Cannonball trip. Most of that time was spent near WOT, cruising at 53-55 mph on the highway.
      Both of these SP Takegawa exhausts self-destructed during that adventure. My exhaust warped and distorted the noise baffle and physically twisted the tailpipe upward... probably from excessive heat (lean). Adrian's also deformed from heat and lost the outer stainless trim on the tail pipe.
      I removed this exhaust and reverted to OEM as soon as I returned from our trip. The only reason for using this exhaust was to allow clearance for the trailer to attach to the rear axle. I *DON'T* recommend these exhausts to anyone... they are not good units, in my experience. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Yoshi's that I saw were a bit too long, and they were considerably more expensive than the SPT. These pipes will probably come off of the bikes after we return from our trip. I prefer the sound of the factory exhaust, but this one might grow on me after a while... we'll see! Cheers! 👍 --QM
