- YAs a licensed esthetician, I’ve made the switch to natural skincare, using my tallow face cream on clients for over a year with great results. One thing to note about natural products is that they feel different from those with synthetic ingredients and preservatives-things your skin doesn’t need! In this video, I’ll show you how to make an effective and affordable tallow face cream that nourishes without the toxins. It may take some getting used to, but trust me, your skin will love the results. Whether you’re struggling with dry skin, irritation, or just want a healthier alternative, this DIY recipe is for you!

Thank you for this!! I was using “holistic esthetician” products for almost three years. Way too expensive and they push vegan agenda. I’m here for homemade and God given tallow❤
Yessss it is soooo expensive!! And God did give us everything we need ♥️ thank you so much for watching! 😊
Another retired RN here . Absolutely love your presentation , knowledge and common sense . Thank you for your hard work ! Subscribed .
I Thank you so much. Welcome!! ♥️😊
I am still an Esthetician at heart. I also returned to natural skincare using natural oils. My skin looks & feels better than when i was using serums, acids, etc. ❤❤❤ Thank you for this Tallow recipe, I would enjoy making it & using it. 😊
❤ it’s nice to hear that from another Estie! Thank you for watching! And would love for you to share what you are using! We can learn so much from each other! I like castor oil as well! Thanks again for watching!
I just found your chanel ,Wow ,i'm loving you! The way you teach is perfect ,not a lot of nonsensense . Straight information. I am a first timer with tallow, and so excited to put your method to work. You have a new viewer for sure. Thanks!
Thank you so much! Im working on follow up videos answering questions people have had and giving some more details in the rendering video and also in the face cream video! Thank you for subscribing! And keep an eye out for those soon! I really appreciate you watching! ♥️😊
my grandfather born in 1880 made a similar mild tallow product and used it for all first aid and skin care.
Oh I love that so much… thank you so much for watching! ♥️
Love this... I used tallow, castor oil, sweet almond oil, calendula oil and vitamin E and geranium 😊 thank you.
Sounds lovely!!! The possibilities are endless!!! Thank you for watching! ♥️
I’m soooo glad to have found you! I’m a retired RN & have gotten excited about herbal usage in the past 2 years. I’m growing my herbs & love harvesting & processing. I started making my own skin care products also & love them! Your background is a huge asset for you & I am excited to learn as much as I can from you!!!
I’ve just subscribed & look forward to seeing more of you!🌹🌹🌹
@@darleneburgess9248 I’m soooo glad you found me too.!!! The fact that you are an RN is so valuable. I truly believe we can all learn from each other.!!! I’m hoping to broaden my herbs I’m growing this year. It’s time to get started on seeds already. Hard to believe. Working on a hyaluronic video now!!! I thank you so much for watching and subscribing . ♥️
i just found you and binged about 5 videos!! i love love love what your are doing. As a holistic nutritionist whos been making my own skin care for at least 4 years now, I resolved to not buy any skin care product for 1 whole year to see how amazing i will feel in 1 years time. that lead me to look on you tube for all things tallow because of its nutrients. I cant wait to try your recipes and i thank you for putting them out here. 🥰
I’m so glad you found me too! ♥️. It’s a difficult switch but worth it! I’m doing a part 2 on the tallow because there are many questions and some things I wasn’t clear on! I’m also going to whip some! Deodorant has been a hard switch for me. Iona journey lol ! I’m looking for a good clean makeup. I don’t wear much . Do you have anything you like?
I've been making my deodorant since covid and absolutely winter go back to store bought. It was a little scary in the beginning not knowing if it will last my intense work schedule..but my testers tell me they confidently can go at least 2 days if they're out camping 😂 I think that's a win❤
@ lol yes that I a win. I tried all the things. But stinky. lol. But they say it’s magnesium deficiency . I’ve been using magnesium spray on my feet. And it’s working. 😊so far!
Hello! Thanks for making this video, can't wait to try it!
Oh I’m so glad you found it!! Thank you so much for watching. 😊♥️
Thanks I can't wait to try I spend so much cash on exp serums that don't work I'm a retired nurse and I'm turning organic for face foods and detox smoothies glad to find you I use alot of castor oil too we need to stop using cancer causing face creams
Same here ! Im trying to find a makeup I like! I’m wondering if people would be interested in what I’m eating and cooking . And what I’m shopping for! And why… I started this journey because of information and joint pain and its benefits are endless! Thank you for watching ♥️
I render my own tallow for soap making, and recently I've become interested in making my own skin care. I found your tutorial to be very informative and helpful. look forward to seeing more.
@@Deborah-vv5cq thank you so much for watching! I’ll be doing more hopefully in the next month! ♥️
Looking forward to the hyaluronic acid and vitamin c info! Rendered my first batch of tallow this last weekend, so I’m definitely going to have to give this face cream a try! Adding castor oil and tea tree oil to one batch then whipping some honey and tallow together for another!
Oh that sounds nice. The possibilities are endless. I’m going to do some castor oil in my next batch. I’m working on the vitamin C and hyaluronic acid! Sourcing clean single ingredients is sketchy. I’m thinking hibiscus may be a good vitamin c source. Thank you so much for watching. ♥️
@@littlebitahomestead6891Rosehips for vitamin c!
I'm looking firsts to your experience with the hyaluronic acid. I just made some with hyaluronic acid powder and it was an interesting process by not using water. I used witch hazel and lavender hydrosol to hydrate the powder. It has been very nice. Not sure how much the small amount of lavender hydrosol will affect shelf life....
@@MMary777 that sounds perfect. Especially the lavender and witch hazel. Where did you source your powder? I was looking at amazon. . Thanks for sharing what you are doing. We can learn so much from each other. Keep me posted on how you like it.
Love the hyaluronic acid, however that's gonna require a preservative due to the water content.
you, your skin, and your accent are all so adorable. Thanks for the recipe
Oh my goodness 😊 thank you so much! ♥️ and thank you for watching!
Thank goodness! Someone who doesn’t put olive oil in it. I went online trying to find some ready to use for the face and everything I found either had coconut oil 🥴 or extra virgin olive oil. Coconut oil breaks me out and I’ve read that extra virgin olive oil breaks down the skins barrier over time.
Same! Until I got older I had oily skin and couldn’t handle that either! One good thing about getting older is im not oily anymore! Thank you so much for watching! ♥️
Coconut oil is great in soap, but you wouldn't want it in lotion anyway as it clogs pores.
When I render my tallow for face cream I pour it into 2 tbsp molds then freeze them. When needed I take 2 (4 tbsp) of the tallow and melt on low, add 1 tbsp of castor oil infused calendula oil. I put it in the fridge to start to set so I can whip it. This way I can make small amounts. You really only need a very small amount. I found my cream is more sanitary this way - and don’t store it in the bathroom.
That sounds like a good system. ♥️ thank you for watching.
Thank you for sharing this , I love naturall oils, creams because it is healthier for your skin. I use jojoba, rosehip, almond and retinol oil on my face and my skin is healthy, soft and glowing!
Those all sound nice! Can I ask what retinol oil you use? And thanks for watching! ♥️😊
💕 Thank you! How would I use this with Retin-a? Would the oil interfere? Thanks again. Lord bless. 🙏🌺💙
Use the retin -a first! Just like you would with your moisturizer. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this, I have been making my own for two years now and will try this next time.
@@NikChillin ♥️♥️ I hope you like it.. thank you so much for watching!
I made the same tallow concoction lol but I whipped it after it cooled off
It’s beautiful on the skin but still hard
Thank you ♥️
Nice. May need a little more oil next time. I did some for gifts and whipped it. It turned out nice. And it may have had a little more oil than usual. Because I wasn’t measuring . lol . Not as hard as the un whipped. Thank you for watching! ♥️
Im 62 and I'm looking for the best, most natural skin care. What do you recommend? I'm loving the beef tallow cream! What facial cleanser, and hyaluronic acid, and moisturizers do you suggest?
Delores, I’m in the same boat. I’m 56, right now I use very little. I have been looking. Everything is very expensive especially if you aren’t sure you will even like it. Ugggg. lol . So right now at night I use glycerin ( I have a video on how I’m using glycerin in place of hyaluronic acid. ) then I use castor oil. And in the day I use the glycerin then the tallow. And that is it. As far as cleanser I use tallow to remove my mascara. Then I have a local goats milk soap I use. I do this at night. Then in the morning I just use a very warm wet washcloth no cleanser, I like how my skin feels from the glycerin and castor oil. I hope that helps. I’m still switching over everything. I’ll need to find a foundation that is clean. And mascara. I’ll share when I find something new to me that I like. There is a brand called toups. But oh my goodness if you give them your email they will send you sooo much. But their products are clean and have good reviews. Check out the HA video. I’ll link it thank you so much for watching. ♥️😊
I love beef tallow. I have added my own additives to it and have seen good results. I am very interested in the vitamin C being used in the tallow mixture. I enjoy your videos..
Is great isn’t it! I’m looking into vitamin C! I’m thinking I’ll use it as an additional serum, or bi weekly mask . I actually will have a video later this week hopefully on Vit C but it’s a little different and will be starting seeds for a really cool plant that’s loaded with vitamin c! Thank you so much for watching! ♥️😊
Thank You! for this video. i cant wait to try this recipe. Would you use any arrow root powder in this formula to take away some of the greasiness/shine, if so how much would you recommend? i also appreciate that you are a licensed esthetician.
Good question! However I’m not sure. It would be worth trying especially on a small batch! Let me know if you try it? And same here if I get to it! Thank you so much for watching! 😊♥️
❤ Thank u & U are Lovely 😍 too SUBSCRIBED I like your accent 💕
I am AUSTRALIAN 😁
Aww you are so sweet! 😊I bet I like your accent too! ♥️thank you for watching!
So nice to share…wonder if lard just as good as tallow. It’s more available
Thank you! I would probably just you lard for cooking! Or soap making! It is definitely good for soap! Lard is complicated! I personally would only use lard from an organic source or a good farm raised source that you know how it was fed. The animal stores all of its toxins in its fat. And unfortunately our commercial pork industry is horrible! Thankfully we have a local place that . Thank you so much for watching! 😊♥️
I also apply tallow cream but I got it blended before letting set. Result came well to apply morning and night. It looks more like balm without blending. I used tarrow, sunflower seeds oil, chamomile oil and Shea butter and a bit of bee wax 😊
That sounds nice! I like it whipped as well! I’m going to do a part two and whip it! And answer some of the questions people have asked as well! Thank you for watching! 😊
@littlebitahomestead6891 look forward
Whats the difference in tarrow and tallow?
@a.scotth.9955 typing error
@@a.scotth.9955 I’m sorry, I don’t know what tarrow Is.
I use beef tallow as my all-in-one moisturizer and couldn’t for the life of me understand why all my friends dogs come right up to me and lick my face and hands! Then I remembered they’re licking the beef tallow on my skin. Now I’ve made a lot more furry friends :)
Love it!!! Yes my dogs do the same. lol! Thank you for watching! ♥️😊
Apricot kernel oil is also a natural sunscreen and also contains vitamin A.
Oh Thank you! So good to know.! Thank you so much for watching! ♥️😊
@ enjoy your vids and i am a great fan of tallow, adding a bit of castor oil (about 2 to 5% of your formulation) will give your product the “push”. Hexane free Castor oil is a wonder oil. I use it for everything.
I’m so excited that we have an Esthetician sharing your experience! Thank you. loved the dog that came in sniffing and snooping. 😂 Even he knows a good thing when he smells it.😊❤ I do have a question, I know the elderberry is good for syrups and medicinal purposes,
Are the flowers better to use for the oils?
I edited my comment and added a question.
Thank you ! Yes he’s always got his nose in everything! I call him my snoopervisor! Yes elderflower’s are great medicinally and for the skin! I’ll link the video where I made the oil! And I think you will get a kick out of how massive my elderberry bushes were last year! I hope they get that big this year! Thank you so much for watching! ♥️

I love this! But I was wondering if you ever whip it? I do that with my tallow sunscreen and it just goes on so much easier and it’s light and fluffy! But great recipe ❤
I actually do! And prefer it! I’m going to be doing a part 2, to answer common questions and alternatives and whip some as well! Thank you for watching! I’m interested in making sunscreen too! Do you just add zinc? I haven’t made it yet? ♥️
@@littlebitahomestead6891That sounds wonderful! I look forward to that ❤ and yes I use zinc oxide but it’s non-nano. Basically it’s just Coconut oil, beef tallow, beeswax, and zinc non-nano oxide. Paul Saladino has a video on how to make it and it comes out heavenly! It’s super effective too, I used it all through the summer and just got a nice golden tan, no burns. Definitely worth making ❤
@ thank you so much! I will check him out! 😊
Thanks for the video, does this have to be refrigerated? Also I see some people whipping it up, what’s your recommendation on that?
So welcome! If you get all the moisture out during the last render that is a dry rendering it is shelf stable and does not need refrigeration! I have a tallow rendering video where I show both methods! If you buy tallow already rendered ( especially from a store) it’s already shelf stable! Also as long as you don’t add anything with water in it to your face cream! And you sure can whip it! I’m going to do a video soon and show some different recipe options, answer some asked questions and whip some as well! Thank you so much for watching! 😊♥️

Hi there just found your channel great video, can I use an6 type of beef fat,and iam in BC Canada where do I get all the stuff like comfry and calendula flowers and the oils from
Welcome! I’m so glad you did! Yes I believe it will help with wrinkles because hydration is so important! I’ll link the video about glycerin below I would recommend the glycerin applied first then follow up with the tallow! You buy many of the items and herbs from Rose mountain herbs! They have a calendula oil! ( not to be confused with the essential oil) it’s an oil infused with calendula flower. I’m going to do a part 2 video and answer all the really good questions everyone has had! At night I use the glycerin then use castor oil! You want cold pressed hexane free organic castor oil in a brown glass bottle! It feels heavy at first! But I love how my skin feels the next morning! Thank you so very much for watching! 😊♥️

Hi there! Thank you so much for this video. I planned to make my own calendula infused oil, but after some research, I've learned it may not be safe to use while breastfeeding. Can you tell me some alternatives with similar properties to use for infusing apricot kernel oil? I like the anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and cell regenerative properties but am unsure about the safety of calendula unfortunately.
I’ll see what some good alternatives may be! In meantime if you make a small batch with 1/2 cup tallow and 1/8 cup apricot kernel oil keep it super simple! And start enjoying the benefits of the tallow and apricot kernel oil! And get some calendula oil infusing it takes about 8 weeks! ! I’ll get back to you on some alternatives! Thank you so much for watching! I have a hyaluronic acid video coming out that I think you will like! And it will be a safe alternative even for breastfeeding mammas!
I am super new to this and have seen 2 recipes yours and one that used rosehip seed oil and walnut oil what the best to use if my whole family including kids will be using it? I appreciate your help.
@@amandaparotte rosehip seed oil I would probably use myself, however vitamin c is usually not recommended for breast feeding mothers or very young children. So would recommend you only doing what makes you comfortable. The second thought is the walnut oil. For everyone, my daughter and husband both have a walnut allergy that did not show up until later in life. My husband as adult and my daughter around 8. But you know your family l personally I would choose something neutral jahoba oil is a good alternative . The recipe is definitely loose. The possibilities are endless. Do not add anything with a water base. Stick to 100% oils. Or you need to add preservatives. I hope that helps. Thank you so much for watching. 😊
What’s the approximate shelf life of this face cream? Do you make the calendula oil yourself as well? Great recipe!! Thank you!
I would say 8 months to a year. As long as the moisture is rendered out! Yes I made my calendula oil. I filled the pint jar approximately 3/4 full of dried calendula flowers. And filled the jar with apricot kernel oil. ( that’s my oil of choice for use on the face) stain it after 4 to 6 weeks. But I probably let mine infuse longer. But 4 to 6 weeks is plenty of time. Calendula is EVERYWHERE in my garden.lol Thank you so much for watching. 😊
Is it possible to replace the Tallow with shea butter or mango butter?
Thanks for this recipe!
I’m sure you can. I’m not sure about the oil to solid ratio. The end result would probably be a bit softer than the tallow. I personally would use the shea butter for a body cream and not the face. It can be pore clogging. However the mango butter should be fine for the face. Let me know how it turns out. Thank you for watching. 😊
@littlebitahomestead6891 thanks for your answer I appreciate it! Greetings from Germany
@ happy new year!
Love this! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching.
Great video ! Thank You!!!
I am so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Hi I wanted to know that if we mix tallow with 100 time washed clarify butter cream and add coconut oil and jojoba oil, would it be a good cream on face?
Hi! I’m really not sure about the butter cream. , For some people coconut oil isn’t a good choice for their face so that would depend on the person. Jojoba is a nice fat for the face! My concern with the butter cream is its shelf stability will be the shelf stability for your face cream once it’s mixed . I personally wouldn’t use butter cream or the coconut cream oil! I thank you for watching! 😊
Could I substitute the apricot oil for argan oil? I have combo skin
Sure can!
You could use jojoba too! Some people like sweet almond oil!
Could you mix the elderflower and calendula flower in the same jar to make the infused oil?
@@heatherhope7889 absolutely
@@littlebitahomestead6891thanks for answering my question, and about how much essential oils to use? I heard it should be around 1%-2% so it's not too intense?
@ it would depend on the oil I guess and that’s hard to really know with essential oils. But calendula is not a harsh oil. So I don’t think you need to worry too much. Unless you have a known allergy. If you are making the smaller batch maybe 10 drops. Especially if the essential oil is new to you.
@@littlebitahomestead6891 sorry if I wasn't clear I meant essential oil. I never made a tallow butter before but I know the unscented tallow isn't for me
@@heatherhope7889 a little frankincense or lavender essential oil might helps if you want to mask the odor.
the apricot kernel oil, is this what you infused all your herbs in because I didn't see you actually add it to the glass with the elderflower and calendula and tallow.
If it’s going to be for my face I like the apricot kernel oil! But there are other options that’s just my preference! I use avocado oil some! I have a video where I make the elderflower oil and I have one where I infuse avocado oil with Mullien flowers! I’m going to do a part two on the face tallow in a week or two to explain a bit better! And answer some questions! I’m learning a lot on the videoing part! lol! Thank you for watching! ♥️
How do you feel about good quality olive oil infused with something?
I think that is great! I personally don’t use it on my face! But many people do! That would depend on each person and skin type! I’ve found that the apricot kernel oil had worked well with a wide range of skin types! For the body I would definitely use it! I’ve been using avacado oil for body! Because of the neutral odor! But recently saw something about glyphosate levels being high in avacado oil!!!! Soooo. UGGGGHG! I’ve got to do some research on that! Thanks for watching! And try a small batch and see how your face responds!
Hi You do look amazing , like recipe a lot .thank you very much
Thank you so much! 😊 i appreciate you watching! ♥️
Can you use Sea Buckthorn oil as well?
Absolutely! Excellent choice! I’m thinking of adding black seed oil! Except use it at night with my castor oil! Thank you for watching! ♥️

Hello thank you for this informative content just came across your channel. Please what can you recommend as alternative to tallow?
thank you! I like Castor oil . it is pretty thick and i mostly use it at night . i use Organic, coldpressed, hexane free castor oil . in a dark glass bottle! maybe i can do a video on a few other oils i use! thank you again for watching.
Is it fine to add vitamin E oil?
Absolutely. . And it’s a natural preservative too. Thank you for watching
Thank you for your response.
Was that 1/4 of all three of the oils?
Good question. The actual recipe is. 1 cup of tallow, 1/4 oil. I,made a larger batch. So divide however many different oils into the 1/4 cup. If you aren’t exact on the oil amount it won’t matter much. Just get close. I need to do a part 2 video answering some questions, also make a whipped version. Also some different options. Thank you for watching. ♥️😊
Thank you for sharing
Would there a way you could me the list of oils that you use please
Sure. I used apricot kernel oil infused with calendula flower, and same infused with elder flower. I have a video showing how I infused the elderflower oil. I’ll try to link it. You can use so many different oils of your choice. Just make sure you have 1/4 cup of oil to one cup of tallow. I did equal parts of each oil to total 1/4 cup. Thank you for watching.

Thank you so much, I have been making my own face moisturiser for years, I’m interested to make your recipe, please link the tallow kind your using❤
I linked a tallow in the description. I haven’t tried the tallow that I linked. However I actually rendered the tallow myself. I got the beef suet (fat) from a local butcher. I will be doing a video soon on how I render the tallow. I also linked some of the herbs that I made the infused oil with. You may Also find some tallow in your Area . Talk to local butchers, farmers markets are a good place to connect with people that may know where you find good tallow. Thank you so much for watching. Let me know how it turns out when you make your own. 😊
Seed oil? Is that a good thing?
Excellent question!! As long as it is cold pressed! It’s the refined oils! The high heat process is what causes the toxicity in the seed oil! I should have mentioned that! As long as it’s cold pressed it’s fine! Thank you for watching! 😊♥️
Where did you get the beautiful cream container
Oh goodness it’s hard to tell! Which one are you talking about? The one with the plant in it? My mom picks up beautiful things thrifting. So it probably came from her! 😊 thank you so much for watching!
Do you sell this product? If so, how can I purchase?
I don’t at the moment. But I’m thinking I may need to. If I do I’ll let everyone know. If you have subscribed it will notify you if I post a community post. There are some logistics I need to look into. Thank you for watching.😊
Do you use any sort of preservative
No I didn’t ! as long as you aren’t introducing any moisture it’s shelf stable! I used dried flowers to infuse my oil! We rendered all of the water out of the tallow. Thank you for watching! 😊♥️
Where do you get your herbs??
I grow as much as I can. Starwest Botanicals is a good source for herbs . We also have an Amish store near us, I get some there. I look for organic. Also look where it’s from. And read reviews before you buy. But I try to grow as much as I can. Thank you for watching.
Also Rose Mountain Herbs. They have recipes as well.
What oil do you use for your add in oils?
Apricot kernel! I have an elderflower video where I make the infused oil if you want to check that out! I make one in the Mullien flower video as well! Thank you for watching! ♥️
can this be whipped?
Yes ! I let it cool down but before it starts solidifying. I’m going to do a part 2 video and answer frequently asked questions, and whip some too! Thank you for watching! ♥️😊
Spiritual treatment and I have been warned to bring beef at home can I use mutton tallow instead of beef tallow for skin care
Yes you sure can! Thank you for watching! 😊
Is duck tallow good also?
I don’t think it would be. The tallow that is good for our skin is from a ruminant animal. Cow, sheep, bison. The consistency is probably different and the nutrients. I don’t think it would hurt anything except I may be poor clogging. Thank you for watching. 😊
I have lots of wild elderberry growing on my property!
Ohhh nice!!!! get to cutting some blooms this summer! ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I have cuttings rooting to start me some more !!! Thank you so much for watching!
I love apricot oil
Me too! 😊♥️
I just made elderflower oil and rosehip oil
Oh nice! That sounds lovely! 😊 thank you for watching!
Will tallow clog our pores?
Typically no. On the comedogenic scale it is a 2-3 on a 0-5 rating! It is most similar to our own skin barrier is why it works so well! I know it seems odd doesn’t it! Thank you for watching! 😊
How do you infuse honey in?
I’ve never tried it . I believe I’m going to do a part 2 video! Answer some questions that have come up! Give some examples of what you can and can’t add. I believe I may try the honey as well! Thank you for asking! I’m sorry I don’t have a good answer. I’ll try it and let you know. Thank you so much for watching!♥️😊
Is there an alternative for vegan version????
I really like castor oil. Organic , hexane free, cold pressed, in a dark glass bottle. It is a bit heavy for daytime. But great at night. Just use it as it is. I’ll link the one I use. Thank you for watching.

teşekkürler.... yüzde tüylenme yapar mı?
No I don’t think it would! Thank you for watching! ♥️
can you use this on baby eczema or baby “chicken skin” ?
For a baby I wouldn’t use the floral or essential oil additives! I would do 1 cup tallow and 1/4 cup jojoba oil, ! If it were my baby. Keep it super simple for baby ! Just to be safe! Not sure about any allergies with such a little baby. So go slow on introducing new things to baby. Thank you for watching . ♥️
Can I use a tallow I bought for cooking? It’s grass fed, has a beefy smell and it gives food a beefy taste I don’t like. What can I do?
You can , if you don’t mind the smell. You could try a wet render but I’d say the smell won’t come out at this point! But you could try! I’ll link my rendering video. (But I really don’t think it will help because it’s already cooked in ) you could also make the face cream with it and use some essential oils! The frankincense and lavender would have a bold scent! And the beef smell goes away after a few minutes when you apply it! But some people just can’t get past it! Thank you so much for watching!

❤❤❤
Is it equal amount of Tallow and equal amount of the sum of other oils ?
It is one cop of tallow and 1/4 cup oil. I doubled the recipe in the video so I used 2 cups tallow and 1/4 of each oil. You can use just apricot kernel oil and tallow or other oils of your choice. Thank you so much for watching.😊❤️
I believe I’m going to make another video and answer some questions I didn’t think to answer. And give some tips! I’m new to the videoing stuff . lol there are also many options to personalize your own cream ! Thanks again.
What kind of oil did you use for the elderflower and calendula oil?
Apricot kernel oil. That is my go to if I want to use it on my face.
I forgot to ask if this is good for wrinkles as iam 72 and have a lot of wrinkles lol
Will this help my dry and wrinkly hands lol
I do think it could help! It’s helped mine! 😊 thank you so much for watching! ♥️
Can you use castor oil in this?
Absolutely! I’m going to in my next batch! Thank you for watching
Where can we buy it from you?
Oh I wish I could. So many people asking. Maybe I can some day. I am going try to find a good source to refer people to. If I find something good soon I’ll try to get you the info. Thank you for watching 😊
@littlebitahomestead6891 TY!!! It sounds like a wonderful product! 😄
Could you print out the recipe please?
Sure the base recipe is
1 cup Tallow
1/4 cup of oil ( I used apricot kernel oil infused with calendula flower and one with elderflower! I doubled the recipe so I used more)
Just use some of each oil to equal 1/4 cup! You can also make this with just the apricot kernel oil!
Melt the tallow in a double boiler, or like I did in the video then add the oils! Stir well!
I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear in the video ! I’m going to make a part two, hopefully next week or two! ( I’ve ordered some items ) lol so when they arrive) 😊 I’m going to answer questions I’ve received and give some better details! Different opinions And also whip it! Maybe with honey too! Thank you for watching! 😊♥️
Were dou buy your tallo
@@susantaylor8507 here is the video that shows how and where I get mine! ( local butcher mostly). Someone commented that they found grass fed tallow at Walmart! Check out that video for now! And I’ll see if I can link some sources! Thank you for watching!

Apricot * what oil?
Sorry! 😊 Apricot Kernel oil! I have an elderflower video and a Mullien flower video where I infuse with the flowers if you would like to check those out! I’m going to do a follow up tallow video to be a little more clear and answer some questions frequently asked questions! Thank you for watching! ♥️
Am I blind? I can’t seem to find the written recipe.
No sorry. I didn’t put that in the description! ( I hate it when people do that) 😊🤓 oops… thank you for letting me know!! ♥️ 1cup tallow, 1/4 cup of oil of your choice. Heat tallow until it’s liquid, add oil. I doubled the recipe in the video. I used apricot kernel oil that I had infused with elderflower, and calendula. I’ll link the video where I make that oil. A viewer Found calendula infused oil. ( different from essential oil) on the bulk naturals ( that link is in the description for tallow. But they have oil as well. I’m going to do a part two video. And answer some questions and whip some and talk about the options. I hope that helps. Thank you so much for watching. 😊

@ you are awesome!
Would this help with creepy skin?
@@gaylejones1545 yes it would! I would recommend after you wash your face, while skin moist from the water, use a hyaluronic acid! Then apply a tallow cream! To seal the hyaluronic acid to retain the moisture in the skin! I want to do a video on the Hyaluronic acid soon! Also next video is about the oils and fats I eat as well! That helps the skin and joints as well! I thank you for watching! 😊
@littlebitahomestead6891 thank you!! 😊
What is the difference between the calendula flower infused oil and the calendula essential oil on the Bulk Naturals website you posted? Could both be used when incorporating with the tallow for skincare? If so, how many drops of the essential oil would you use? (I saw that when using the calendula oil in the video, you used 1/4 cup). Thanks
The link for bulk naturals is for the tallow. But I went and looked at the oils they have. One is an essential oil. That is highly concentrated and you would just use drops, they also had an infused oil. ( I’m not familiar with their infused oil. It seems expensive. ) but the infused oil is more like what I used. I made an oil infused with the dried calendula flowers. I used apricot kernel oil, added dried flowers and it infused for six to eight weeks. I linked some dried calendula, and elder flower in the description. If you wanted to make a small batch for now. You could use 1/2 cup tallow, 1/8 cup apricot kernel oil. And calendula essential oil drops. Like maybe 15 drops. . And it would be a nice face cream. It’s really nice even if you don’t use the calendula. . Order some dried flowers, get some oil infusion and then you will have some in about 8 weeks to make some with your own oil. I’m sorry I know that’s confusing. I’m going to do a part two video, answer some questions people have. Give you a few more recipe options. I have a video on how I made the elderflower oil. It’s exactly the same I just used different flowers. I’ll link it below. Thank you for watching. I hope that makes sense. 😊

I looked at that infused oil again. It’s a grape seed oil base. That would be fine. However I would prefer apricot kernel oil. And the 4 oz was $20 ish and I think 8 oz pouch was $36 ish. So it’s not too bad. Plus you don’t have to wait . . Thanks again.
@ Yes, that makes sense- thank you for responding! So if I want to use calendula essential oil for now, until I make my own infused oil, you would recommend using 15 drops for the recipe you used in the video? Does it still have the same health benefits as the homemade infused oil? (Will it have the same effects on the skin?)
@@john-jennifer-welch yes I think 15 to 20 drops would be fine. It should still have the benefits. I personally like infusing the oil myself but I do use essential oils as well. There is some controversy about essential oils right now. lol like everything else I guess. 😊 But I wouldn’t have a problem with the calendula myself.
It’s Lard Awesome Mexican make tamales with it
Lard is pork fat. Tallow is beef fat. But you can cook with tallow, if it's pure.
The tallow is from a ruminant animal like cow, sheep, bison. And Lard is from the pig. Yes lard is excellent for cooking! I bet you make wonderful tamales! ❤️ thank you for watching.
❤
Thank you for watching!
I wished you made a gallon...
Rose oil and Olive oil
Yes rose oil is lovely! Many people use olive oil! I don’t like olive oil for my face. But great for the rest of the body! Thank you for watching.
What kind of oils can I mix with the tallow for psoriasis? And eczem?
The apricot kernel oil is excellent for both. Also if you can infuse the apricot kernel oil with comfrey. I have a video on comfrey. ( but I used avocado oil instead of apricot. ) also the calendula infused oil as well. I’ll like two videos where I infuse oils with dried plant matter. Thank you for watching 😊♥️ also to make a small batch with just the apricot kernel oil and the tallow. To go ahead and start using it while your herb oils infuse.
