      I appreciate her hard work, but yet, she's too far from the deep understanding and elegance, shawn by Georgii Cherkin and Sofia Philharmony Orchestra, conducted by Uroš Lajovic.
      I do believe this is the best interpretation ever!

      Yes i completely understand. Let's face it, she is stunningly beautifully and sexy, she is a natural woman like that. Then on top of it she has a likeable character not that spiteful distant and proud character you often see in beautiful women.. That makes her absolutely irresistible, and i haven't even talked yet about her prodigious piano playing...

    That piece is the epitom of the junction between classic and modern "classic music". Rachmaninov is an incredible genius, putting together so many themes (with a superb touch of humour) so smoothly. And Yuja lives up to the challenge easily (as it seems, but there are hundreds hours of work concealed here). And congrats too to the orchestra, who isn't overwhelmed by the power of the pianist (partly because she knows how to hide sometimes). What a pleasure !

    Omigod! That orchestra! The _precision,_ the intensity. And the engineering -- there must have been 20 microphones expertly placed with matching cameras to catch all those solo vignettes. Oh, and I guess the piano player was okay, too. 😁 Just kidding. I am a fan of Ms. Wang on a level that approaches fanaticism. I don't have the words... I wish there were a way to put a microphone on *her* so we could hear what she was saying as she talks to her piano during the performance.
    The only thing missing was a camera at the end of the piano focused on her face so we could watch her wonderful expressiveness as she frowns just a bit for an unusually difficult part, or (be still, my heart!) when she lights up the room with that wonderful smile when something goes especially well.
    Sitting alone in my home office I found myself applauding enthusiastically at the conclusion of this performance, even though there was no one to hear. It's possible there may never be a better performance of the Rachmaninov rhapsody than this one.

    She is truly beautiful and feminine. I love her choice of dress, this yellow dress is stunning on her, i couldn't breathe when she walked on stage. Also her personality is very likeable. She is obviously very talented but there are many talented pianists, still i love her feminity and i couldn't say that of other female pianists.

    • @GingerIndiana
      @GingerIndiana 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love this yellow dress, too. Stunning with the black piano. As you said she made the choice of beautiful and sexy dresses to come out of the lot because nowadays it is quite impossible to succeed without a marketing trick. It is clever and it brings joy to many people. Mrs Wang is a fantastic pianist but among the young generation, my preference goes highly to Nobuyuki Tsujii, that blind pianist who has the same virtuosity but whose musical skills are much deeper because he always respects the composers first so the magic takes place. Menahem Pressler had said he greatly admired him... And this was no small compliment from him.

    • @ericastier1646
      @ericastier1646 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GingerIndiana I think she is naturally sexy and didn't have to make a "choice", it is natural to her and it is why it works. Unlike many sexy but usually cold and haughty women she is warm and friendly. I agree that her appearance brings joy to many people. She is ideal for the current generation. But even with her sultry appearance she has a great taste in colors and fabrics that i have not seen ever. Of course everyone me included would only praise and admire a blind pianist who can play standard concerto repertoire, it's nothing short of incredible and profoundly moving. No world class pianist would think otherwise. i think, and there was absolutely no need to mention an obscure pianist to support that view, it's quite evident.

    • @GingerIndiana
      @GingerIndiana 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ericastier1646 You had mentioned her "choice of dress" and yes, she chooses her dresses or her shorts when she plays in short. For the rest... I'm a woman so I can't see more than the beautiful dresses 😉.
      Menahem Pressler is not an "obscure pianist" ... 😳. He was the pianist of the Beaux-Arts Trio, the most famous trio of classical music history that played and recorded for more than 50 years. But he also had a solo career. He wasn't praising Nobu because of the fact he was blind but for his deep musical understanding of the repertoire : "God took his eyes but gave him physical and musical gifts that allow him to master the greatest pieces of the repertoire". And that young Japenese musician is so moving, each time he plays it sends shivers... (If interested to discover, I have made a short Playlist "Van Cliburn + Winner 2009", because he won the 1st Prize of that big international competition).

    • @ericastier1646
      @ericastier1646 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GingerIndiana Yes, there currently are no middle aged male pianists that are handsome for you as much as Yuja is Aphrodite like beautiful feminity for me, it's not just appearance she would be nothing without her flower in the sun like character. Humble yet direct.
      I vaguely remember the Beaux Art Trio. I guess only pianists with grand solo careers are very well known in posterity. Not to belittle him but there were hundreds of excellent pianists who had great careers in the last century. On the other hand only a few got the coverage and extra support from the media and venues because of their ethnicity. Because of it I don't accept fame as a sign of greatness because the music recording industry, venues, media and academics are ethnically politicized and not demographically representative. The greatest example is Horrowitz probably the most overrated pianist in history, another is Arthur Rubinstein, and it is a pattern that made it possible for them to have a career when others more deserving did not.

    • @GingerIndiana
      @GingerIndiana 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ericastier1646 I'm happy to hear this : being "the most famous pianist" doesn't make you "the best musician" at all , that's totally true. And it's even more true nowadays where Social Networks help a lot those who have a good manager. Personally I don't need a male pianist to look beautiful to appreciate his playing : I'm only looking for a true musician whose knowledge and respect for the composer will make his playing deep with emotion. Because the real artist is the composer, not the performer. Clara Haskil wasn't a beautiful woman at all but she was successful thanks to the quality of her musical playing. Menahem Pressler wasn't a beautiful man at all. Same for Nobuyuki Tsujii. But their playing conveys the great composers' music in a respectful way and that gives the deepest emotions. For example Menahem Pressler's recording of Chopin 1st Concerto makes me cry each time I listen to it. And one of his last concerts (when he was 92) features a Chopin Nocturne as an encore that's a dreaming experience for the audience. (This great artist received the "Life Achievement Award" in 1998 in the UK which is the highest distinction a classical musician can get. )
