    Looks like the MSRP is $160 US, so that's good. One small mistake though, in the table at 2:04 I wrote 'Gbps' for the memory, I meant 'Mbps', the memory's not that fast ;)

      Nvidia knows how the market works, if someone buy cheap graphic card will stick with brand for many years, because most praise and defend what they buy, so later they won't switch to other brand for personal reasons. Entry level is more advertisment than real business, so AMD have double problem, to compete rx5500 must be cheaper as underdog, and to win competition in that price range rather significantly cheaper than 160$ assuming similar performance.

      It looks like none of the 1650 supers will have 75 Watt TDP, so the 1650 models with a 75 W TDP do have a place. Those with higher TDPs don’t make a lot of sense. However, if you factor in the price of such regular “1650” models they are essentially eliminated from competition, except in a few use cases.

    I'll be honest here, I was forced into this card due to stock(I wanted a 2060), but having used it for about 7 months now, it really does the job. Most of my games reach the 120fps my monitor is capable of(I don't play super demanding games, mostly JRPGs) and was pleasantly surprised. For what was only £10 more than a 1050(at least at the time I bought it) it's a real bargain if you can find one in stock.

    Minor problem with your charts and analysis graphs... you used/tested the most expensive version but used the price of the lowest cost version (with no guarantees they perform the same)???
    Newegg lists the MSI GeForce GTX 1650 Super Gaming X 4GB 128-Bit GDDR6 $179.99 + $3.99 Shipping = $183.98 ($184). 1650 supers ranged from a low of $159.99 with free shipping to $179.99 + $3.99 Shipping = $183.98 ($184) for the one you used.
    The RX 580 8gb starts at a low of $159.99 (with $90 in premiums included from two companies, Power Color Red Dragon and MSI Armor OC versions) and the 8gb RX590 is available starting at $179.99 (Power Color Red Dragon and Sapphire Pulse - both include $90 in premiums). So, you can buy 4 different RX 580/590's that include $90 in premiums for less than the your reviewed 1650 super... OUCH!!! That makes the value far from competitive.... Too bad NVidia decided to cheap out and NOT give the new 1650 super the 8gb of memory or the 256 bit memory bandwidth of the cards it has to compete against... then it might have actually been good. But, NVidia, like Apple figures it's customers are either too loyal or not smart enough to notice and will buy it anyway... Looking forward to the new AMD cards, maybe AMD can do to NVidia what they trying to do to Intel in the cpu market... It would be great to see a real, thriving market competition!!!

    It seems like despite the larger VRAM buffers of the higher-end cards, the VRAM is being heavily under-utilised, you would think that, with 8GB of VRAm, you would want to have features to store more textures in cache, and reduce the time to draw visuals to the scene.
    It feels like the software is still a few years behind the hardware....from all hardware manufacturers and software developers...... depressing for sure.

      🙂 no, its because of market share, everybody is seeing that both amd & invidia are selling brand spankin new 4GB ddr5 or ddr6 video cards to the whole wide world for 2020, so if u really want to sell video games to the masses you better be fn dam sure that ur game runs on 4gb of vram ✌😏🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢

    • @longnamedude3947
      @longnamedude3947 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrSamadolfo That doesn't explain the LACK of optimisation for larger VRAM buffers...... All that explains is why 4GB VRAM is the usual"Recommend" amount of VRAM for most modern AAA games.
      VRAM capacity above 4GB has been available to mainstream consumers for the last 5 years, thanks to AMD (HD7000 series and the R9 2XX series of GPUs).
      The issue, is that developers aren't being pressured to put effort into better utilising the available hardware that consumers have. And, so the games they are developing see barely any performance increase in relation to an increase in VRAM, which should NOT be the case.
      TL;DR: Software & especially game developers are lazy and don't put in the effort to effectively utilise the available hardware that different GPU's have, especially VRAM capacity.
