i so agree this record shows macs more mature side and he really just has so much insight into himself i love him so much like we are so lucky to exist in the same time he does ya know his music thoroughly changed me.
I liked My Old Man most out of the songs on the new album. The rest of the songs were good but they didn't really click with me a 100 percent to be honest. Sometimes I caught myself barely listening which usually doesn't happen when I listen to a good album but maybe it will grow on me. I just wished to get more of the catchy riff and solo Mac on this album.

I love Andy so god damn much, his solo on this old dog is soooo good. Reminds me of something that David Gilmour would do, I love it.
theIJPmexican As a huge floyd and DeMarco fan, personally it sounds nothing like Gilmour and Andy isn't half as competent a guitar player as David
No question about that - still, Andy's solo is damn fine
If you haven't already, check out Andy's other band with his brother, Ed - Tonstartssbandht. It's very different and pretty much his dream band, really great imo however
Sorry but no doesn't sound remotely close to Gilmour. Gilmour is basically a spaced out blues guitarists. He does a lot of high bends and actually isn't that reliant on effects despite the fact Floyd are known for using a multitude of effects. The solo Andy played here was completely reliant on effects.. not to belittle his guitar talent.. But the reason this solo sounded so cool was because of how he utilized effects. And it wasn't very bluesy at all... just very trippy and psychedelic.

As an ex heavy smoker myself I appreciate Mac's message to not copy him because people think its cool. It is a crippling addiction that literally costs you a fortune to kill yourself in a very slow and painful way. I thought it was a good thing for him to do and completely unprompted by anyone. Much respect.

this is so beautiful, I think it is the perfect time for Mac to do more of these live streams as we can't go to live concerts! thumbs up if you agree! Ive been lucky enough to see mac twice live with my music producer friend, the second time at the show in "elephant and castle" we had to break up a fight, a guy who was too drunk or on drugs or whatever kept moshing when no one else was, he kept bumping into everyone around him eventually annoying the wrong group of guys, they kept shouting at each other things like "come on then", eventually a stand off occurred. The group of girls standing behind the whole scene decided to leave because of it, it was very close to the end of the show anyway, the part in Mac's shows where they all swap instruments and do random covers. My friend and I had to jump in-between them and push them apart trying to calm the situation. We ended up staying in that spot having to keep deescalating the situation, they kept turning round and shouting at each other and staring. The bass player even noticed and in-between songs said "I don't know what has just happened over here" gesturing to our part of the audience. Some people really know how to ruin it for everyone. I wanna throw my friend some love as he's always been a keeper of the peace and we've been through a lot together. He's heavily influenced by Mac Demarco. He has just released a new tune, try searching Lonely Gimmick - Blue ticked Influencer ,you may be in for a surprise and he would love to hear your opinion
