Thank you for keeping the game alive, and for being a player-oriented company. Thank you for your engagement with the community. Thank you for the amazing mechs that make the game so much fun to play!
Congrats gents! You guys do great work! It's been a blast to dive back into the world of the Inner Sphere these last couple of years after enjoying it so much in my youth.
In 1987, I had a habit of spending about $50 every two weeks (payday) at the local gaming store, Iver's Dungeon. I was in the store one day, digging through the bargin bins when Iver called over and said, "Hey, here's a game you'd like." He pointed at FASA's display near the front, something I had barely glanced at upon entering. It had the Mech' box set with rules and a half dozen House Manuals, as well as some other odds and ends. I bought House Liao, which led to the next, and the next. For me, the lore was the real attraction. The saga of humanity's never ending search for stupidity and cruelty to our fellow man. Plus, big, stompy robots. How could you go wrong?
This year is going to be an incredible year for Battletech. I can't promise it'll be incredible for anything else, but for Battletech, ti'll be top tier. lol
Happy 40th! Have to say, hearing you thank the community pillars like Big Red, Black Pants and the rest really shows you guys have your heads on straight, and know what keeps the game and hobby alive! Good luck and keep being great for another 40!
Hello everyone. Thank you for keeping the game alive . I started with the first box you showed ,in french... Nobody s perfect ... Near 1987 if i remember well. And bougth my first mini , a Ral partha Marauder . Such a mech ! And i m still playing with it. Hard to find what i d like here, still there are one shop in France and the other in UK,where i can find my addiction. Thanks again guys, keep going for the next 40.
Got my first Ral Partha mini back in 2001, and got fully into it this past year now that I've got time, space, and am, well, older. XD Thanks for giving us a franchise and a world that we can all love and adore, you guys! And remember! INFORMATION IS AMMUNITION!
I'm with this game for over 30 years now and started my own channel last year. I made it into the backround, I was a top 10 Player at the Martial Olympiad twice and, the most importend thing, I meet my wife through Battletech. Thank you for the last 30+ years. Lets get on with the next 40 years.
I Had to come back and watch this a a second time, because my brain in this world has gotten so accustomed to everything being an Ad or a sales pitch and was genuinely left confused that I had indeed not heard one... But, none of that here 3:45 runtime, without a link, a new product flash, a future announcement. 3:45 of a pure, genuine, and honest thank you, to a community at large. The honor is mine, Catalyst. Truly and genuine. Battletech saved my life (and continues to be a pillar I lean on)...a story for another time.... and to keep seeing affirmations like this of genuine appreciation and thankfulness to the customer base and of having success.....It's very touching. And it's very comforting to know that the IP that is so dear to me, is in genuine and passionate hands. Thank You.
Here is to another 40 years of Mech on Mech Action! My first Battletech game was in 1988, when I was 12, and it has been one of my favorite games ever since! I am so glad that I meet young folks who know and love the Battletech Universe. I have been reading Shrapnel Digest on the regular and seeing all of the new fiction writers is so awesome. The fiction is what draws you in met many people in the 90s who played but had not experienced the novels and I was happy to introduce that to them. Thank you Randall and the whole Catalyst Team for your dedication to staying close to the community. 2024 is going to be an awesome year!
I remember picking up the 4th Ed. box set in Barnes & Noble as a kid. Since then, my favorite gaming franchise/fictional universe -- one of the best of all-time. Thanks for the memories and hard work & God bless!
Happy 40! Thank you for keeping this universe alive. It’s been a very important part of my life and has seen me through some tough times. Greatly appreciate all of you and your team’s work!
If it wasn't for you OGs holding the game up 40 years ago, youngsters who only found it 20 years ago couldn't have found it wide eyed, and for that I'm thankful. Here's to another 20 years!
Speaking as someone whose first Battletech game was 4th edition... thank you. If you couldn't do it without the fans, we would have nothing without the work of you and your colleagues.
Thank you so very much for all the fantastic games I’ve had playing BT. I started with the second edition boxed set when it came out and have been playing it ever since. I did buy the newer boxed set when it came out a few years ago and the minis are just gorgeous. From a BT fan in New Zealand, thank you. Can’t wait to get my Eridani Light Horse on the table this year!
I was in 10th grade in 1985/1986 gaming at a school club when I first encountered Battletech. We took a break from CarWars and played this cool new game with giant mechs. I immediately bought the classic 2nd edition set. Thank you for keeping this alive!
Been playing, collecting and painting Battletech since 1985, so I am right there with you. Amazing game system with amazing lore. Thank you for keeping it alive and going in the right direction.
Thank you for being a part of the story of this great universe and community. Catalyst has done amazing things for this I.P. I have faith you guys will comtinue to carry the torch forward.
My first experience with BattleTech was 30 years ago in 1994 with the SNES MechWarrior video game. I'm so honored to have been a part of the fiction team for the last 5 years and can't wait to see the reaction to everything still yet to come. BattleTech is the best it's ever been and I'm delighted by all of this.
Here's to 40 years, and another 40 more! Thank you for your incredible work in keeping BattleTech the wonderfully engaging and supportive hobby that it is. From a life long fan I truly appreciate all the work that's gone in over the years to keep it going, and CGL have been nothing but amazing in all their work in making it known that BattleTech is for everyone. Thanks to everyone at the CGL team, y'all are incredible! And let's all get hyped for what those dropships are bringing us in 2024!
I've never been a tabletop gamer, but MechWarrior 2 was my very first game I bought for my PC in 95. I got back into the series a couple years ago, and I'm so happy to see that a part of my childhood to teens is still very much alive and well! And with MW5 Clans on the horizon, it's coming full circle. I'll definitely need to try getting into tabletop, but for now? Putting on a Jason Skye BattleTech mix, and leaving the Leopard in my Otomo Mauler!
Been a fan of Battletech since 1996 thanks to the Novels and Mechwarrior 2. Got into the board game/sourcebooks in 2002 and have been happily playing Battletech for over two decades. During that time, we've had ups and downs. This is definitely an "up" period and I'm happy with the direction CGL has taken Battletech. Here's to another decade!
Thank you so much for keeping Battletech alive and bringing out the current renaissance! I wasn't able to get into the tabletop game growing up but had a PC where I was introduced to Mechwarrior 2 - I've been waiting many years and have jumped into the deep end with the two recent Kickstarters. Here's to another 40 years!
Started in 04, though I did catch the cartoon as a very young child. First game was Mechwarrior 4, but spent most of my time in the old fan BTMUX Frontier Lands. Keep it up y'all, my little boy is already interested in MW5. I can't wait to get him looking at hex maps.
This was my first year with Battletech. I've made friends, painted mechs, read books, fallen in love with characters and reveled in the chaos of the game. Heres to 40 more years!
Happy 40th anniversary! I bought my first TRO way back in 1988, and really got deep into it back around the time Total Warfare came out. I love the way Catalyst has shaped the game and I am very excited to see what comes next! Happy hunting!
I'm happy to be here to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this great IP with everyone involved. Battletech is great and I love seeing its resurgence! All systems nominal!
Happy 40th! Thank you for keeping my favorite game around long enough to have this renaissance. I've been playing since the very first box came out under another name, and I haven't seen this many active player groups and players since the late 80s (35 years ago). At the current rate once the Merc box sets hit shelves I believe we will surpass those heyday numbers if we haven't already. A group of us are planning an unboxing party for when our kickstarter stuff arrives. Thanks everyone!
Doing my part - I started in late 84 a friends birthday... now I am teaching my five year old - starting with basics thru HBS/BTA - she has her own unit and LOVES kicking vehicles and mechs - it kills me every time she knocks an opponent over and cries out with glee "Welcome to the Floor!!". I told her that I am going to start teaching her table top this year. She is super excited. so am I ... so many caffeine filled weekends of planetary assault campaigns in my youth... first battletech... next shadowrun .. Shrug... she likes math...
I started playing the game this year, after I purchased the introductory box in a hobby shop on a whim after having learned some spatterings of the game’s lore. When I showed my dad it he lit up as he used to play it years ago, and have been getting only more into the game since.
Thanks for the video Randal, nice to see you again, lookin' good in that 40 anniversary shirt. Keep up the good works, hope to catch you at a Con again soon.
Got into this game when my dad brought home the 3rd edition boxed set, telling me it was the board game version of this cartoon I'd been watching. I've been playing ever since. Never thought when I was first running through those introductory scenarios in that little green rulebook that I'd be a Big Kappa one day. I just hope I get to pass this on to my kids like my dad passed it on to me!
I may have only found battletech in the last few years becouse of my brother, but thanks to this amazing community and your fantastic company: the 'fortunes favorites' mercenary company is ready for action!
Learned about Battletech when I was little but am only getting into the minis in earnest now and played for the first time last week. Seems I chose a good time, keep up the good work!
I've still got my 2nd Edition Boxed set purchased in 1986. And the stack of paper that used to be the first edition Mechwarrior rule book, and stack that used to be the Merc Handbook, and the 3025 Technical Readout.
Thank you for the dedication through all those years when the game needed an initial direction, at keeping the game alive for a long time and now well as it goes into its own renaissance.
As a refugee, I appreciate the thanks going out to the heavy lifters, the content creators. Keep doing right by us and we will keep doing right by you.
I remember the original Battledroids that had the same cover. Amazing as things have evolved and improved! Love the Marauder 40yr anniversary shirt - where do I get one of those sweet swags?!!
Started playing when I was 12, so that puts me at playing for 38 years too! o7 o7 o7 Shout out to all Battletech and Mechwarrior players out there. Maybe we'll face each other across a battlefield some day, and may it be glorious! Keep playing, watch your heat, and remember to shoot Mark first!
I also started playing BT when the 2nd edition came out and I am still rocking the BT universe!!!! Thanks for everything you guys have done for BT and I am eagerly awaiting all the goodies I ordered in the Mercs Kickstarter! 🤘🤘
I hope we get more new warships. I've always liked the Aerotech and Battlespace side of the franchise. My biggest complaint about the Dark Age era and Blakeist wars is I was expecting new warships to keep coming since every major Inner Sphere power had warship development programs running in the 3050s and 3060s which logically would lead to the Clans launching new Warship development programs only for the Blakeists to come and ruin the fun. Some new Frigates would be nice since I've had a massive soft spot Frigates since I started Tabletop gaming and of the main warship types their the one that has the fewest representative classes in Battletech lore AFAIK. Well outside the Dreadnoughts which are basically the Warship version of Superheavy designs. Some more Succession War compatible Jump Jet Equipped all energy weapon Heavy designs would be nice to. I know we just got the Viper-5 last year and the Ostroc 2M, which was ok but far too lightly armed for its weight, back in 2009. But the Viper-5 is no lostech design that lore didn't state only entered production around 3040 for some reason that I truly adore from my favorite Mech weight class and I want more.
The only games I keep in my house now are battle Tech and a few select books of first and second edition D and D. I've gotten rid of most all the other games. Because I just don't have time to bother with anything else except the great battle tech
Congrats! Im so glad Battletech becomes more avaiable all around, especially here in Scandinavia, its been difficult... sporadic avaiable PC games and tt stuff for years. VERY happy the Flea ( My fav light from MW4, MWO etc ) got into the Mercenary Box. I do would like pure Flea and Locust boxes ( with 4-6 each ) since they are 20t and kinda swarm/ harasser mechs. The Urbie pack is due to well, Urbie is cheap and slow as an Atlas. BTW I bet its the Mercenary box from Kickstarter that will be avaiable worldwide as supplement/ expansion to A game of Armored Combat? If so, instant buy from my dedicated tabletop/ miniature game stores here in Norway.
Thank you for keeping the game alive, and for being a player-oriented company. Thank you for your engagement with the community. Thank you for the amazing mechs that make the game so much fun to play!

Seconding this
Thanks for 40 years of Mechs! Thrilled to play more, create more content, and meet more fellow fans of #BattleTech in year 40!
My son and I are celebrating New Years today by running a Battletech Grinder event this evening. Here's to another 40 years!
Excited to see where BattleTech will go.
Happy 40th! Have to say, hearing you thank the community pillars like Big Red, Black Pants and the rest really shows you guys have your heads on straight, and know what keeps the game and hobby alive! Good luck and keep being great for another 40!
Happy 40th birthday BattleTech. As someone who's been playing for 30 years now, it looks like this year will be one of the best.

I see the Dark Age novels! My favorite novels. I got in through Dark Age clix back in 2003 when I was a gangly middle school student.
Thank you for everything you have done for the game and looking forward to what comes next. Really jealous of that book collection.

Let the hype for the KS shippment, MW5: Clans, and many others begin!!! Kudos to you, CGL, for keeping the franchise alive.
😁
Battletech is my longest IP, thanks for the long work on a world that I love.
I found Battletech in the 90s, with the third edition, and it's been a hell of a ride! I'm so happy to see the game hitting it's stride once more.
Ol' Stoneface himself! Deep thanks right back at you, sir.
Been playing the game since the very beginning and still going strong 💪
Got into this game when my dad brought home the 3rd edition boxed set, telling me it was the board game version of this cartoon I'd been watching. I've been playing ever since. I may have only found battletech in the last few years becouse of my brother, but thanks to this amazing community and your fantastic company: the 'fortunes favorites' mercenary company is ready for action!
First box down. I enjoy the idea of playing BT in England like a Punk against the GW monopoly😂😂😂
Tks to you, we battletech players from Indonesia 🇮🇩 have fun playing. And the price was fairly reasonable. Hope updates for new mech or vehicles.
God that makes me feel old! Started in ‘90
I’ve only been into Battletech for a few years, but here’s to 40 more
The 2nd edition box set was my first BattleTech purchase too, bought it from Infinite Frontiers the local game store.
Load the drop ships! Storm the gates! For another fourth years … forwardddddddd!!!!!
I've enjoyed ALL 40 years, so far. and I am absolutely excited to see how strong the game is today.
thank you for continuing this fantastic universe.
Thank you for such an awesome game and universe! Let's keep going for another 40 years! :D

Taurian Concordate FTW ❤ Thank you and Happy New Year 😊
Happy Anniversary! I have been in the Battletech Universe since the beginning and couldn't be happier. Thank You!

Thank you Randall, CGL, & all the amazing content creators out there that add so much to the universe.
Started playing when I was 12, so that puts me at playing for 38 years too! o7 o7 o7

40 лет большой срок, желаю коллективу дальнейшего развития! Как сказал один храбрый космонавт: бесконечность, не предел!
Its been a grand year, and heres to another grand year!
Hope to do more BT content this year as well!
Congrats ! One of the greatest games ever. Awesome to see it still going strong.

Thank you for keeping Battletech alive. Battletech was my first min game to play and love this game.
May the future bring all of us good fortune.
Been a good long run,. and hope for more metal mashing fun..
40 more years! Never stop Catalyst!
I am new to battletech and i am excited to see where Battletech goes!

Congrats!
Congrats and thanks for 40 years of stompy goodness.
Поздравляю. Хорошая дата.
Here's hoping for an official BattleTroops analog perhaps? a Destiny scale skirmish game: infantry, vehicles, battle armor!
