After the game both APA and I discovered that, indeed, Garen E doesn't self slow anymore, I just think it's still super bizarre that 1) he and I feeling like it is, 2) it almost even visually appears as such. But yes it is an illusion given you can test in practice tool it doesn't self slow.
Garen is my top 3 most played champ since I started playing in 2011 and I had NO fucking clue it didn't slow anymore
Its the same thing as when ur playing apex and feel slower as a big champ like gibby or caustic compared to, say, lifeline. They technically go the same speed, but due to the animations being slower on the big champs, it feels slower in game. Visual thing i suppose!
Maybe it's because we are so hardwired, passives, abilities don't feel like they've changed at all. Full placebo effect. Even I forgot that indeed Garen E does not self slow but I guess Riot never changed the little nuances that showed it used to slow.
It feels like it slows because you lose the 20 ms from hearthbound axe since during E you can't auto attack

I haven't been keeping up with the pro scene recently, but I was an asol otp a few years back and would always watch this guy called alwaysplanahea and try to emulate his playstyle. looks like he's doing pretty well for himself these days lol

As a frequent Garen player this was both funny and infuriating to watch, because of so many opportunities to outtrade Ksante, or missed kills, or flashes for kills that should be free.
What a difference not knowing your champs damage and defensive stats makes. I bet most pros just don't even try Garen ever, because of his reputation as a low elo only champ.

Herald eye threshold is 15% of it's HP I usually get the last proc around 1200-1400 but when I jungle I try to time it with smite obviously if it's contested..

I only had suggested videos of him casting pro games and just thought he was bad/a troll - seeing this puts it into perspective that he does have a very deep understanding of the game

The new update.... "Ghosted" state is same as using ghost in league pc... So it scales down till the duration expires

Hullbreaker first item on Garen is garbage. Second item it can be really good, but the resists don't start scaling until level 12. Trinity then hullbreaker is significantly better.

And then faker watched APA absolutely Smurf on the whole lobby
Then later in the day, APA asked again but faker said no - and APA smurfed in the toplane with pantheon once again
E only self slows when you're hitting something. COACH BTW. Also PD attack speed passive doesn't effect Garen E which is a known bug (just tested it to sanity check). Honestly still might be his best item here but it's so cringe, I hate the item system right now.
E doesn't self slow, neither when ur just spinning nor when ur hitting something. I just tried it.
same thing with lethal tempo, it doesn't affect Garen E for some reason while it still lowers Yasuo's and Zeri's Q cooldown
