Going from a very chatty spool pinned dimple lock to these types of security pins (barrels, tapered pins, etc.) the learning curve changes for a very steep one. For me these locks give almost no feedback on the tensioner. Same for the TESA TE5. I think I'm going to avoid locks that have these types of blocking pins, it's too much of a pain to figure out what they want. 😅
I can understand that. For me though, I found my Goal S easier than the 1100 and even my 575. It's my go-to comfort lock when I'm having a bad day. The next time I order from Wyte, I plan to get another one just to see if mine is a fluke or not. I'm guessing not, as my bitting has a good range of low and high lifts: #3 is a max lift, and #4 & 5 are almost zero lift T-pins but do require a nudge. I do think that having this lock and enjoying it so much probably delayed my understanding of the jiggle test (a recent realization), since I pick this lock anti-jiggle. I've recommended this lock many times to people for blue belt, but I'll include a disclaimer/warning from now on.

Oh, and I believe these don't come with barrels or tapered. Just spools, mushrooms, and T-pins.
