Sir, nice review as usual. I never miss your reviews. One thought from my side- I think Mahindra positioned the gear-lever in this peculiar fashion deliberately. They are probably expecting that majority of the buyers (of this AMT version) would be having an upgrade from a manual car and first time automatic-users, hence it would be easier for the users to make that shift (from manual to AMT), as the gear-lever positions resemble that of a manual gearbox.
So much negatives for xuv 300 in most of the comments. But I took test drive feels really awesome. It’s spacious stable and powerful in his segment. I booked W8 petrol.

I’m manual car driver and definitely this AMT is seems to be most practical, whenever you want to take manual control you just need to push and pull gear liver and for putting in neutral just pull right, logical thinking i believe!!

In my opinion physical buttons are less confusing endless distracting while driving it is good that they have given the physical buttons for the controls and also the gear aur very very intuitive and similar to manual gears Hindi type of gear system the reverse gear cannot be engaged so easily
Xuv300 and Sonnet have created a benchmark in Diesel Automatic Sub compact suv segment. Ecosport lacks at that doesn't come with Diesel Automatic. But Petrol Ecosport At is best in its segment.
In city driving, 1.2 turbo amt and 1.5 naturally aspirated engines will give same fuel economy....It's on highways wherein you can churn out economy. It's personal choice one wants performance or compromise on automatic.

Sir, why are you continue blaming the gearbox? Its a matter of personal choice. The norms for manual gears were also regular 1,2,3,4 & 5 or 6 and tham reverse in back side but than few companies start giving reverse gear in 1st place or to hook up gear lever or to press gear lever etc. That was also odd. So if Mahindra brings something new than too it should be a personal choice, I think? And I know boot spce is least in the segment but also front and rear seats space is best in the segment. And its a compact SUV under 4 meter so we can't get everything perfectly.
If boot is not an issue then xuv 300 Mind you xuv's bootspace is as big as an alto's only And if you need boot then nexon Nexon is a better value for money product thwnn xuv though

U got it right sir. I too dropped it after seeing boot space. I didn't even bother to test drive it after noticing poor boot space. Otherwise it is such a good car.
If you don't travel with too much luggage regularly and are only a family of 2-3, you won't have an issue with the boot space. Take a test drive I would say. Also, the competition which has more boot space has compromised a lot on rear seat space and legroom. The Nexon and Brezza are probably the only ones with balanced boot and rear seat space. The Sonet and Venue feel cramped and even hatchbacks like i20 and Baleno feel more airy. So yeah it's upto you whether you want better legroom or more boot space.
Sir don't u think that nissan must look for interior premium black and bage combination with at least decent sunroof ...with turbo disel for better milage and power....

Me too. I just watched the video 10 minutes back and I think this video helped me finally decide on the Sonet. I wish the transmission quality across the power bands was discussed in greater detail. Also if you really want to highlight the NCAAP 5 of this this brand you should tell what way the metal would perform in the case of a crash as against the performance of say a Sonet or Venue. That would be a real gutsy review
We just bought our new XUV300 W8(o) Petrol Manual last month and I am in love with it.The thing I loved about this car is it’s beige leather seats. Also (it may sound silly but) the windows controller that is having greyish metal finish. It just reminds me of the Mercedes maybach S class

Well then brother you can compare it with any other one having the analogue meter. I have seen venue owners going gaga over the meter console of xuv. Looks are always subjective brother. But then looks is one of the criteria not the only one but sadly we indians (including me) go by looks.
Only due to three main reasons I did not consider this case, No automatic in petrol, very outdated looking Central Console and small boot space. I wish they sorted all these 3 , then this was a superhit car.

7:15 In my opinion, AMT gearbox is the strength of this vehicle, it is the Most convenient gear shifts you could experience if you get use with it.

The AMT is jerky for the driver and the passengers, don't expect an extremely smooth ride . But you'll get used to the jerks in a few weeks .

That MID, infotainment system and that look and feel of center Console is soo dated. A big big negative of this car.

I think it’s definitely a feature loaded car, but the tech and the finish looks quite old. The infotainment and the buttons. 🧐🧐🧐
