Yeah konami doesn't usually hit new cards (there are no new cards on the list). That doesn't mean that they are not keeping an eye on essel, it's just that they want to make as much money as possible from the new boxes
I understand that but I would like to think they'd make an exception if the card was a real problem. I think the issue with Essel is that it's not always a problem and thus it's effects can often not be felt.
Royal Rebel got slightly nerfed, and Dragons got a huge buff. Pitcher going from 3 to 2 is an upgrade, as it means you can play Dragias again. Clear Ice Dragon being free is good too.
I think I overall would have been fine with this list of we knew there was going to be some kind of Skill Rebalncing. But overall, the only hit they did for Rebels also hurts the other decks pushing for viability. I guess Konami REALLY wants us to play The Guard.
Highroll cards like Essel are really frustrating to play and play against; always seem to do nothing when you’re the one using it In the GR Festival, someone summoned Dragias and then used Essel and milled a SECOND Dragias
I definitely imagine in the future we will see a big Essel hit, it's such a strong card at times and even when the reborn effect doesn't happened, it's main effect is still good for example I'm experimenting with a Zombie dino deck and Essel has been a big help to make that deck feel better in a sense, able to dump my 0 attack zombies or normal dinos in the graveyard feels so good for resources.
I guess they looked at Rebel being a bit overtuned and wanted to get Heavy Metal with something on its same limit. I don’t think it should be cut. I think it’s better to run 2 Heavy. We shall see what this means.
And well, I'm still laughing at Rising Light Angel Essel. I remember when almost everyone said that it was a niche card and that it was very situational (not worthy of being an SR for some). The actual Rush Duels format supported the idea: Rising Light Angel Essel was not used at all in the Main Deck and was an unsuccessful Side Deck option. And yet, Rising Light Angel Essel became a powerful card in Rush's Duel Links. I think that's because we don't have cards that can mill the GY for multiple Decks (and we don't have Monster Reborn as a Legend Spell Card) I would only cap Rising Light Angel Essel at 3, but (in the future) it would be one of the silliest limits since better cards will have come out that do what Rising Light Angel Essel seeks to do, but better (and without depending on being the first or second turn)
Everything seems to indicate with that Banlist that Dragon Decks will return strongly in the future. DRAGIAS NEVER DIES! (Royal Rebel's will die due to the advancement of power since many Decks will come that will be stronger than Royal Rebel's) I still say we'll get Shock Dragon in the future: it's the only Dragon Boss Monster that can deal with Maximum Monsters. Likewise, little by little we get closer to Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias and the possible Skill that will make it work. Miragias was not used in the actual Rush Duels format as it was very expensive to activate its Effect. In Rushs's Duel LInks? A Skill would make activating the Effect of Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias much easier.
The kings majesty limit could indicate further level increases to the sevens characters? Either way it now makes the RR strat more offensive and the skill slightly less obnoxious as you only really worry about widespread now. The essel “issue” won’t matter. I’ve stopped using it in thunder. It’s good in Harpies and will be good in Ancient Forces going forward. Every now and then it’ll do something in aggro but aggro is a good stuff high risk high reward playstyle so it’ll not change much there.
You don’t? 2 1 sounds fine. What game is going to have you summoning 3 and ignore the utility of good backrow? Is removal so rampant that you have to go minimum backrow in Rebels?
@@SexyPotatoDancer There is one thing nurf you probably haven't noticed but Majesty is the only card that can negate with a monster on field while The Guard can only be used on direct atk I guess it's strong against The current stongest Invasion deck plus you can run multiple copy Basically Overload don't care about this card since it don't need to direct atk to win but I find The Guard Really good on Maximum Overload since it can recycle the parts😉
Finally after months of waiting, Ancient Forces is coming back. The only deck i invested 2,38€ to get 2 copies Ancient Arise Dragon from guaranteed UR offers. Maybe is time to get one Dragias.
Tomato said it in the video. It is very high-roll. The player going 2nd can just Summon her, use her effect and get out a free boss monster which can turn the duel one-sided very quickly. Every deck that can play it is playing it for this reason.
I hope they ban RR, the skill is unfair while in the Goha Cup there was some variety, i pray for my mental health they don't takeover the format like when Dragias was the tier 1 deck.

We all know that Trike Fox would break Dragias and skyrocket it to tier 0.
