- There's more than one way to make a 3rd Gen Civic fast. Builders of each of these Civics chose B20 swaps for their powerplant but built the cars in very different ways.
The white 85 is a modern build with all the features one would expect of a true, 2020s Honda hot rod. Clean engine bay, plenty of custom fab, and a super fresh look.
The black 87 is a street mosnter, exchanging a pristine presentation for big power with a fully built VTEC-enhanced powerplant with short gears and exotic performance parts.

We loved these cars and so much about them here @heeltoe Much more will come from the Black Civic on our channel. The white Civic is off with the new owner and already has suspension from Heeltoe installed!
My best friend had an 87 Civic SI and we would always compare performance and parts to my 86 CRX SI. CRX was always a touch faster than he would upgrade something and be faster. Was a blast!
Good times, haha, both cars are fun as hell, but the CRX feels like more of a sport car, the way you lay out in it. Civic is more upright.
I was a 4th Gen guy but I can appreciate these. Very nice setups.
I was one who ran a caravan bar in my 1st gen crx. Crazy how well the chassis rotates with it.
My car was the blue 84 dx 1300 swapped to 86si driveline.

I remember your silver 1st gen CRX Si with the HKS turbo kit, Mugen Kit, and wheels from the forums back in the day and in Honda Tuning Magazine. Marcus from Heeltoe was a legend to me growing up lol

@@Heeltoe. That guage cluster came on the Asian third gen civic e-at. The same version that got the browntop zc and the power bulge hood.
I have an 89 integra and would live to put a B20 in it if the D16A1 ever dies on me. Wish I had a list of what I would need to do it. Love these little civics! I had a few crx si’s but I gave up kn fixing them up due to the plastic body panels. The panels in the crx’s just cracked and fell apart and it was too hard and expensive to find replacements. The civics were all metal though. Glad to see video’s on the old torsion bar cars.
List for a B-swap: Engine, Trans, and related stuff like header, clutch, etc; Engine mounts, wiring harness, axles from Heeltoe; mod the stock factory shift linkage (cut and weld). That's basically it.
Just picked up an 84 civic wagon , pretty clean looking close to the white one. Looking to go b20v. Any advice on a front lip fitting and rear spoiler?

Where did you get the clear indicator and side marker lights for the 85? I've got an 84 and I have had no luck sourcing those for a while.
These cars were not built by us, we don't have info on those markers.
So….what can we do to lower the suspension
