@@rosaital4641 There’s an old saying “be careful what you wish for.” I made the choice together with my ex husband, to be a homemaker. He later started to resent that I wasn’t earning money. He belittled me by telling me that if I wanted to work outside of the home, that I would never be able to earn as much as he did. He became increasingly abusive in his attitudes and words. I felt completely devalued & disrespected by him. I then found out that he was being unfaithful, so I decided to end the relationship. It’s not a choice most women can make any longer . Husbands now EXPECT women to work outside and inside the home , so it’s actually a moot point unless economic factors change . Single income households are a luxury so this idealistic view of full time mothers is only likely to create more discontent for all the devoted exhausted mothers out there who are having to juggle the stresses of real life balancing demands of home income ending . Rich husb like this guy can afford to have their wives be full time mothers

They would be better off if she, or one of them, stayed home and managed the household without all the extraneous expenses that two income families might incur.

Mom did help supplement income while the kids were at school, but she was there when the kids came home. They didn’t take Disney trips, nor big family vacations. They camped at parks. They didn’t fly to vacations anywhere. They did have two cars, they didn’t have air-conditioning in their house, they didn’t have brand new furniture every few years, kids shared bedrooms. She made a lot of their clothing, they used thrift stores and hand-me-downs! She home-cooked 90% of their meals. They were also able to buy a home! I had the same experience and I think women are their own worst enemies. They constantly judge one another. Why should I care if you continue to work or you stay home. Some moms are better moms when they can get away and work. Others feel they cannot give either their everything so they choose to stay home. Others have spouses with very demanding careers and need a spouse at home for stability. Many stay at home moms keep schools going with their involvement in PTA/PTOs, help in their communities, etc. just because you are not getting paid does not mean that you have no value.

Megan, what you said at the end about how stay at home moms are looked down upon, I’ve lived that. I decided to stay home with my children 10 years ago, and so many times I’ve been in conversation with people, they ask what I do, and I tell them. I get the roll of the eyes, down cast look, the pursed lips, and then the conversation is effectively over. It’s as if people think I have nothing of value to add to a conversation, or that what I choose to do is less than in comparison to having a job or career in the working world. What these people don’t know is that being a wife, mother, and homemaker has brought out all of the very best parts of who I am. I’ve learned so much about so many things because I meticulously researched about so many things so I can know what products, foods, educational tools etc would be the very best for my family. The other side of this, also, is that there are so so many women who desperately wish that they did not have to work at some random 9 to 5 so that they could stay home with their children. I think that, many times, the husband pressures his wife to work… especially if she is in tears about it. That’s been my observation. …. Reminds me of the abortion issue. Many times, from what I’ve observed, men pressure women to get abortion. If it was still against the law, women would be protected from men’s pressures. This factor is not talked about enough, and it’s a BIG factor, I think.

Yes, I think once a woman actually has a newborn in her arms- she realizes the absurdity of paying a stranger to take care of her baby. Most women work when the children are young because they have to. Inflation has made it very difficult to survive on one income and many men subscribe to the myth that women can raise a Baby from the office. I know women who end resenting their husbands when they have to go back to work after their baby’s born. And I also know couples where the man does whatever’s necessary to make sure his wife is taken care of…

As a Catholic I can tell you that "vocation" refers to our role in life. Husband/Wife/Clergy/consecrated celibacy are the vocations. It's a spiritual world view. Husband and wife are self explanatory. He's not a punter, he's a husband. Clergy and consecrated celibacy are priests and nuns. Those are the vocations in life. "Vocation" in the secular world equals "job."

How sad is that? In the big scheme she has the most important job, raising our future. There is too much poopooing stay at home moms and this kerfuffle is more proof that, instead of being honored, stay at home moms are being treated like something on the bottom of one’s shoe. I really don’t think more women are able to stay home now at all in light of cost of living and stagnant salaries. If the husband is a high earner or the family lives with much less it’s possible. Truth is that apart from the elite class, women always worked, whether that was on the farm or domestic production of goods prior to industrialization. The conversation right now isnt about putting down women who have to work it’s about “vocation” or priorities/purpose and social expectations. I had one unplanned child but then went to law school. I didn’t like my career or how grinding and demanding it was but had student loans to pay. by the time I tried to have more in my late thirties I could not. I wonder if it was from decades of birth control since my mom and grandmother had kids in their early forties. I 100% only prioritized career because of social pressure and expectations and know many more who also feel like they were sold a bad bill of goods. I wish people had encouraged me to focus on being a mom in my twenties and took a normal job if we needed the money instead of chasing accomplishments. It makes sense to socially encourage motherhood because fertility wanes and a career can always be pursued after you establish a family.

However, now that I’m retired and my children are grown, I can say that my job as wife and mother were the most demanding and rewarding jobs I could ever have. I could regret not having a satisfying career, but I would regret more not being there for my kids and husband. Of course, there are women such as yourself that can be great at both. Megyn, please remember that your three children were brought into this world through IVF, and many women have not been as fortunate with this process. You were one of the lucky ones. Many women find their vocation in different ways, with marriage being of utmost importance, alongside a love for God and family. As a career woman yourself, it's also important to acknowledge the struggles many women face, such as divorce and miscarriage.

He did not say btw if you choose, he said to female GRADUATES do no neglect being a homemaker and their lives haven't started until then. the full speech is up there is no cherry picking happening. why would his wife have regrets when she has a sweet life led by his rich and famous career. btw motherhood is likely a ton more fulfilling than pageantry dkm

I completely agree with Butker's encouragement to young women and I have given this same encouragement to young women as well. As a prior corporate business women, I know from my own experience that the biggest blessing and enduring purpose I have experienced is wife and mother. Nothing compares to these two roles. I chose to leave the work place to be a full-time mom. I was not forced to stay home. It was not a financial decision. It was a priority decision. I encourage every woman to leave open the possibility of being a wife and mother.

We no longer have media who just report. Now they fan the flames of hysterical fandom. Intact families do make the biggest difference in the lives of children. Thank you for focusing on the truth of that.

I worked in banking for many years. When I would get customers at my desk to apply for loans I was always amazed by how many stay-at-home moms would say oh I'm just a homemaker!?! I used to tell them no you are not just a homemaker you are far more than that! I was blessed enough to have a mom that stayed home with my sister and I growing up as kids. I have always found that to be a homemaker hands down has to be one of the hardest jobs in the world. They get no paid sick time no paid vacations, don't come at home after a hard day at the office to be able to relax.... I could go on and on. I praise this young man for standing by his beliefs. By how emotional he became you can tell that he knows he wouldn't be half the man he is today without his amazing wife❤❤❤.

One thing these modern feminists need to keep in mind when they are dissing on homemakers, is how helpless they were as children and how absolutely dependent on their mothers they were when they were growing up.

My Mom quit working for 13 years to stay home and raise my sister and I. People don't realize being a housewife is the hardest job on the planet. The problem with society is parents are too busy worrying about their careers than their kids. If you can't afford or spend the time required to have kids, don't have them.

I think the key words in your comment are "can't afford". I don't think all women are concerned with their careers - they're concerned with the grocery and heating bills. I think there are more women than not who would love not to go out to work. It's just not that feasable in this day and age.

Oh boy, do I HAVE to respond to this video & the information you were talking about with regards to Harrison Bucker's speech, at a Catholic school graduation. I grew up in the 50's & 60's and yet in my heart, in the deepest part of my soul, I knew staying home & taking care of our children would be the most fulfilling thing I could choose to do. What I discovered along the way was that it was the hardest thing I would ever do. When my husband and I discussed how we would want to raise our children, we both wanted our children to come home to their mother every day (the way our mothers were there for us). It was a very difficult choice though, as I was the one who was bringing home the larger paycheck, and so it was a sacrifice. I have said for a very long time, that women have been sold a lie, women working outside the home wasn't liberating...all it did was add even more work & responsibilities on a woman's plate. I often wished I could somehow do both, as doing without wasn't always very fun...but staying home was the best thing I ever chose to do. Last Mother's Day I received the most beautiful card from one of my children, thanking me for the huge sacrifice of staying home with him & his brother. I cried my way through that card, and I am so thankful he took the time to write those thoughts down for me, it encouraged me. He said he didn't know any woman who would do that today, and all I can say is, that's a very sad thing to think about. I understand some women don't have a choice, a lot of men today want their wives to work. I also want to say it's nice that women have the choice, but I pray a lot of women will wake up and realize the lies they've believed, and that their children are the ones who are suffering because of it.

What we need is the 10 Commandments in every classroom. Americans have thrown out their religion and heritage with it. A great country without a religion can’t stand. We’re finished.

I totally agree with you. I just turned 59 years old. I remember like it was yesterday when we had the 10 Commandments in the Classrooms. It’s very sad. 😢 I have faith and I believe in scripture that Christ wins this battle in the end. I was raised Catholic. Furthermore, I believe that the Luciferian agenda has always existed since the beginning of the fall of the Adversary. The one thing I cannot wrap my head around is, that there are people who have been deceived and actually believe that Lucifer is the good guy and he was given a bad deal from GOD.
Lastly, we have to pray 🙏🏼 for our fellow man. Good, bad, indifferent. To be true believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. This world needs so much Love ❤️. Not just people but the whole earth itself. In my humble opinion, I feel as though the horrible energy that our fellow humans are putting out into the world is affecting Nature. It’s as though the worse people get the more the worse the planet gets. 😢 Thank you 🙏🏼 for letting me share my thoughts on this. May Our Lord Jesus Christ keep you safe. ♥️🙏🏼✝️

The year i cared for our newborn, while my husband was deployed was ten times harder than the year i served in iraq before having kids and it wasnt because i myself had an easy deployment. And the years ive been a stay at home mom have been the absolute happiest, challenging, fulfilling of my life despite every lie i was told before becoming a mom that it wouldn't be.
