The most essential mod in Payday 3 is an another mod by nuttyak2taps which translate every text in the game to the Secret Alien Language from Payday 2

Tbf, the upcomming update has announced to have 200+ bug fixes
But they haven't released it yet due to some game crashes that need to be fixed first

@captnd7902 It was 200+ qol features and bug fixes, so we will see, i think atleast we will see a few needed qol things for sure, but we'll see when the update comes i guess

if you hate the default hit sounds as much as I do I highly recommend the MW hit sound replacer mod. It works cause the new cods also got armor etc. Finally doesnt sound like someone is ripping out the headphone cord anymore.

Man I bet most if not all dialog in payday 3 is AI generated, just something so unnatural about all the lines.
I need a mod that mutes Shade completely during the Final Assault phase in Loud. The constant "GET OUT OF THERE FOR FUCKS SAKE" drives me crazy.

Turn off audio in settings and listen to some pd2 tracks
I highly recommend the Classic armor regen sound mod and the PD2 Assault indicator mod, really add a lot more charm to this game.

hope the devs see this and take some notes to increase the game
All of the mods up until the enemy health numbers should be part of the base game. All smart choices or stuff that was in the previous game, so should be in this one
Toggle-able, since enemy health gets in the way.
But i suppose No HUD can be used to hide those and it's nice to look at enemy health in a coop based horde shooter
i don't like it, it feels like its an arcade game and not a heist game. so if they do add it, it should be toggle-able like the other guy said

I never experienced Payday 2 on launch, but I have seen a video that shows what it was like. And there are so many parallels I wonder how OVK/SB come off like they learned nothing from Payday 2's cycle. They added so many QoL features later and just have missed them again in this sequel.
You would be surprised just how many live service games have made this mistake. Destiny -> Destiny 2, The Division -> The Division 2, even Halo 5 -> Halo Infinite. All of these games started out in rough shape, slowly added content over the course of months or even years to end up in a really good place, and then when the sequel came out everything was right back to square one. I really don't know what causes this kind of thing to happen, when a sequel lacks so many QoL features the previous game had and is pretty much a step backward in almost every metric. I honestly don't even know why Payday 3 released like this, the community is strong and loyal enough that they would've stuck things out with Payday 2 another year or two if it meant Payday 3 would actually be finished and playable.
Fr. It’s so wild to me cuz they were things they changed because players didn’t like it. Like the stat bars were in payday 2 but nobody liked them cuz they’re super unclear, so it got changed to show the stats as actual numbers, but now in payday 3 it’s back to the unclear bars for no good reason

The main focus is to just release the game in a state where it mechanically works. Even though modders can get these mods out in days, it's just not worth development time, when you want to meet unreasonable deadlines.
I just want you to know I had TF2 open when watching this video and your detection sound made me look at the game more than once

Nice to see you back playing a Payday game... started playing Payday 2 and found your channel, found it very entertaining. Was a little bit sad when the Payday2 content was slowing down and stopping. But now all back to good old days, videos popping up regularly and seeing your passion about the game again.

Another game that needs mods to be playable. Best mod would be a 3 year time skip, because that's probably the amount of time we'll have to wait for it to be a good game.

I'm in the same boat on Xbox lol. You could always play Darktide, that game's really fun now.
at this point if you’re still on a console in 2023 it’s on you. Cheapest decent prebuilts are like 700-800. Save a bit more money and you become apart of the glorious master race…as a console player of 20+ years console sucks. I regret not upgrading years ago

@@mark73765 quality mode is at 30fps while preformance mode is at 60fps. problem is prefo mode looks terrible especially on a 4k screen.

We had mods during the beta already, since it's unreal it's known process how to mod the game.

Damage/Kill count mods are absolutely essential in coop games
At first I was iffy about it in Mhworld but after installing it and seeing that I do 80% of the work every time I felt enlightened
I always had a sneaking suspicion that half the lobby was doing nothing but having concrete proof feels much better
Same in payday3 everyone is gonna have like 80 kills and then one dude just has 5 like wth bro
Im glad the honeymoon period is over and people are realizing Payday 3 is as soulless as Starfield.

They said on a dev stream that they couldn’t stop the motors if they wanted to. They are currently working on a position statement. But they do plan for full mod support.
I actually use some of these, glad to see them getting the attention they deserve :)

Actually Starbreeze/Overkill mentioned in their FAQ that they're looking into how to better support modding Payday 3, so it seems that they won't be taking much repercussions against people just using mods to change things locally, unless it's cheating I guess.
I sincerely hope the devs note which mods are gaining the most traction and *work with the models* to create truly what the fans want in the game. I understand that the challenge tracker mods will be outdated and it's not really stealing that idea. Basically, I hope noone's hard work is stolen either. Please SB bite the bullet and do this.
Imagine you can create your own HUD, paint your suits+gloves+guns exactly how you want, change phone screens, music selection (even from older titles). these little things will make the game feel ridiculously tailored and unique
All of these should genuinely be in the base game, good choices.

One of my favorites is the "secure bag notifier" one
I just started modding a couple days ago and its given me so much fun with the game. Challenge notifications and damage numbers are just some of my favorites.
I've replaced the main menu music with the BO2 multiplayer theme and the nightclub music with the club music from Sly Cooper 2.

TF2 for Payday's detection noises is just masterpiece xD
It's just sad that many communities are the one fixing the game instead of the developers
I highly recommend using the pak mod enabler instead of using the launch option, as using the launch option seems to have a pretty big impact on fps.

Someone who’s only had payday 3 for a few days, I can say that the only thing that I would desperately want off this list is the pager mod where it shows you the count

Payday 3 needs more heists, I feel like. I don’t know how many heists there were at Payday 2’s launch (tbf it was 10 years ago now), but I’m pretty sure there was more. Don’t need new guns for now, just more maps and more heists
There were only 12 in payday 2 which may sound like a lot, but keep in mind this includes stuff like four stores, jewelry store, ukrainian job, and all of the bank heist variants. In terms of replayability and scale of heists, payday 3 was absolutely better at launch.

There could absolutely be veriants of some heists like they did on PD2, even though it's unfair to count them as additional heists, they add a lot to replayability

One essential mod for me is the Cuckatoo Mod which changes the Rock the Cradle music to Always Cuckatoo 😂
I kinda don't understand why there are so many things not included in pd3 that are BASE in pd2, literally tons of quality of life things that I miss.

The idea of it being a mobile game is more thought provoking when I remembered I came across a weird thing when using a touchscreen laptop, for some reason, the game had built in touch controls (movement only), so I was so confused.
UE has that built into the engine. The movement call automatically makes a touch input.

Its... kinda sad how it feels like game devs are taking the modding community for granted and whenever a useful feature is put on table they usually promise it months down the line yet modders get it out and almost bug free in days. Sometimes mods add so much QoL that the game becomes unbearable to play without them like HUD mods for PD2 or Community Patches for Bethesda games, yet developers don't seem to care and just expect the players to know this and do it themselves. Mods are supposed to be complimentary not mandatory
My favorite and basically essential mod is DannyG Boston pagers 10/10 for stealth players

Payday 2 has 25k people online. Payday 3 has 4.5k. Sadness. Hope it gets better.
Payday 2 used to have manual reporting, where you would send a person's SteamID and details of what they were doing in an email to the developers. I used it in the early days and from what I understand, some people did get banned. I assume this was abandoned within the first year or two of the game coming out.
Banned from what, though? Overkill had no power to issue VAC bans or any sort of Steam ban, at most they could kick people from the community group, which really meant nothing.
Some of these mods should be in the game such as challenge notifications and the timer being on screen

No official modding support has been announced so far for PAYDAY 3. We are aware that our modding community is too commited to be stopped by that mere fact however, and we're looking how we can support modding.
For me that sounds like its ok to use but without support.
The state of this game at release is truly depressing. We all wanted so much more and they had plenty of time to deliver

Personally, i wouldnt say that payday 3 is ''broken'' per say, but more void of content. Doing the same heists over and over again is starting to feel tedious to some people and the progression system is slow. Im sure there will be more stuff to do in the future, but right now, its not the worst game possible, but it isnt what payday 2 was.
I dont think ive ever been quite as underwhelmed with a game quite like with PayDay 3.

Why not ? Sure, It's a extra (potencialy huge) chellenge in creating, but mods, especialy non invasive like hud or UI, are present in online games for dedades now.
Fun fact: Theres already cheat mods that give you stuff like infinite ammo and god mode, so payday 3 has no point being online-only since people have already bypassed this game almost entirely. It just inhibits modders even more as they cant do the same stuff that they did back in payday 2.
if it's like payday 2, you could enable modded players to join your game or not in the lobby settings. so, if the players dont want modded people potentially ruining their game, they can opt out. so, no harm done really.
that being said, i have no idea if payday 3 has this feature or not, hope so tho lol
They don't have to allow mods to have them working, you just inject code into the unreal engine

At this point i only play cradle and gold bank on stealth for loot, but even that is feeling worthless.
No infamy, cant spend it on more guns cuz no infamy, and increasing cost for c stacks is stupid when the highest payout is like a 20-30 min run for 1.3mil.
Maybe if we could double loot carry sooner rather than later...
