So a couple years ago when we were house hunting, we looked at a 2 bedroom house except, there was a bed in every room. Dining room? Nope being used as a bedroom, living room? Bedroom. Basement? Bedroom. Hallway? Bedroom. The master had two full size beds crammed against opposite walls with a thin walk space in between. It was crazy. Like 17 people must have been living there in this 2 bedroom, 1 bath house! (They had added a second toilet in a curtained off area of the basement (yes near the bed). And that's what this build reminds me off, because yes, people do live like this.
In an 8 sim household I generally leave it on. But in a household with 1 or 2 sims it bugs me to death. There is some stupid bug where sims will chancellor their queue for no reason. It is the worst!

Same here, living in Sulani so I think it wasn't even hard to build a house for them. Didn't even have to do those sneaky fake rooms, I just built rooms and left them open. In a world with real winter that wouldn't work but Sulani, Oasis Springs or Del Sol Valley... not a problem. You could easily build a house that could sleep much more than 8 sims

Lol I had a similar experience like this growing up. I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment with my 2 siblings,my 2 cousins, and my parents. It was torture with only one bathroom lol. The couch was basically my bed. We even had bunk beds which is something they should definitely add in the sims.

A microhome for 8 sims works, I made one without using move objects. The bathroom is outside behind the house though. And you have to have Sims scoot to the other side of a full bed.

oh god. i made a couple 8 sim micro homes when the pack came out so i know your pain. you definitely pulled it off better than me though lmao. i didn't """"cheat"""" with extra tiles, so to speak, so i really had to CRAM stuff in, to the point where i had to overlap beds foot to foot to get it all to fit. (it actually looks surprisingly okay to do that with certain beds, but i pity the four kid sims i built one bedroom for in one of them) no true kitchen either, just a mini fridge and a microwave. and not to beat a dead horse but building like this would be SO MUCH EASIER with bunk beds and ladders
4:50 when I was younger and my whole family lived in the same house, I had a little nook in the dining room that housed my mattress that we put a curtain around, so that fake room speaks to me.

Yes! I'm average height, but that means that virtually half of all ladies in my country are taller then me and virtually half are shorter. It would be cool as well if sims could comment on each others height, since that's an IRL conversation a person might have. I find it disconnecting that sims never really talk about each others appearances in a meaningful way

Downstairs, the L-shaped couch could be turned into a double bed I think? Or at least a single bed. And that would take up the whole living room at night. In the basement there were two more beds but it's dusty and cold down there so we used it as storage. We had a bathroom but also an extra outdoor shower, of which the water was stored in a little overhead tank and was heated by the sun. Sometimes this place would have to house my aunt, her gf, her daughter, his bf, both my parents, me, my grandma and my sister all in this one house. And at the few times my sister would bring over one or two of her own friends they would just sleep in a tent in the garden (which got boiling hot at like 7am from the rising summer sun hitting it). It was WILD
I've heard it's possible to gain some extra space by building diagonal walls as those doesn't count as a tile or a half-tile. Haven't tested it myself yet but maybe worth a look? Also a thing I've noticed with fake rooms with seasons installed is that sims act like it's outside (since it's /kinda/ is) so they'll wear their outside clothes while inside those rooms. Which is kinda a downside with having rooms like that.
Hi Kayla! Next time you could put the kitchen outside. You can build a porch and put the kitchen there, it would always feel like your sims are having a bbq :) and you'd have more space for beds and bathtubs inside LOL
With my micro home I put a nice like outdoor kitchen on the patio and used the perfect patio kitchen counters and stuff and then put like an outdoor projection movie theatre as the tv and stuff. Just really utilized pavilions and outdoor space.

I fit 6 sims in Crick Cabana in Willow Creek. It was actually my second household. It is a 2 bedroom house. I had one teen and child in one bedroom, the parents sharing the master bed, and an uncle and grandma in single beds in the master.
I know you were joking, but that tent idea could actually work well! A family of survivalists doesn’t need much and could totally thrive with a micro home
that outdoor bathtub looked more like a pet's tub to me lol and well, sometimes privacy is overrated lol I remember a couple months that I live volunteering at a hostel and "my room" was the lower bed of a kinda big bunk bed, I used my towel and some pareos as curtains to have a tiny bit of privacy and also "decor" lol fun times
To save tons of indoor space and money, put the dining area outside under a big awning. You can also have an outdoor entertainment center. Then, all you have to worry about inside is a kitchenette, a bathroom, and bedrooms.
My trick for micro homes is to make a massive 'pool house'. As long as you move the last wall segment in and roof it carefully, you can a gym, granny annex, media room or whatever. Works like a charm
Have you tried to save space by doing an outdoor kitchen? like extend the roof and use columns to support it and put your kitchen and dining room outside? I feel like it would help maximize useable space.
I have a build concept. Outdoor home. Every room is outside (except the bathroom), and parts of it are under gazebos. This house would be ideal for sims who love the outdoors, so they don't get the "cooped up" moodlet.
I built my kitchen outside, using a roof and three walls. Kept the main home the 32 tiles, and added 3 walled structures when I needed something. Also: PUBLIC RESTROOM. Use it!
My aunts and their family used to live with my grandparents bc of financial reasons. 10 people in three rooms... sometimes another cousin would stay over and sleep on the couch or in the spare/my room if it’s empty. They moved a few years ago bc they were finally able to buy a house :)

But I did manage to make a 2 story 100 tiles tiny house. I tried to make a micro house and I failed at doing that. But eventually I will try again at making one.

what I usually do, is use the 32 tiles for the second floor and use glass roofs instead of walls for the ground floor to cheat around the tile count

I fit 6 sims in Crick Cabana in Willow Creek. It was actually my second household. It is a 2 bedroom house. I had one teen and child in one bedroom, the parents sharing the master bed, and an uncle and grandma in single beds in the master.
Put a dining area outside!! I put the table on the patio, drag the roof out, add posts, and use room dividers to block it all in.

I love using island counters because you get a table and a counter for sink/prep space my last micro home had no normal counters

that outdoor bathtub looked more like a pet's tub to me lol and well, sometimes privacy is overrated lol I remember a couple months that I live volunteering at a hostel and "my room" was the lower bed of a kinda big bunk bed, I used my towel and some pareos as curtains to have a tiny bit of privacy and also "decor" lol fun times

To save tons of indoor space and money, put the dining area outside under a big awning. You can also have an outdoor entertainment center. Then, all you have to worry about inside is a kitchenette, a bathroom, and bedrooms.

My trick for micro homes is to make a massive 'pool house'. As long as you move the last wall segment in and roof it carefully, you can a gym, granny annex, media room or whatever. Works like a charm

Have you tried to save space by doing an outdoor kitchen? like extend the roof and use columns to support it and put your kitchen and dining room outside? I feel like it would help maximize useable space.

I have a build concept. Outdoor home. Every room is outside (except the bathroom), and parts of it are under gazebos. This house would be ideal for sims who love the outdoors, so they don't get the "cooped up" moodlet.

I built my kitchen outside, using a roof and three walls. Kept the main home the 32 tiles, and added 3 walled structures when I needed something.
Also: PUBLIC RESTROOM. Use it!
You could have an outdoor kitchen so the bath tub can be inside.
My aunts and their family used to live with my grandparents bc of financial reasons. 10 people in three rooms... sometimes another cousin would stay over and sleep on the couch or in the spare/my room if it’s empty. They moved a few years ago bc they were finally able to buy a house :)
I’m doing the 100 baby challenge in a micro home, and I used the wooden bathtub to put behind the house with grass privacy hedges all around it. I actually love it
Frankly im jealous of the toddler he has a curtain seperating him from the rest of the family that literally shares every other inch of the house.
This video reminded me of the problems I had making my first tiny house. With that new pack. Which reminds me I never did get around to finishing it. But I did manage to make a 2 story 100 tiles tiny house. I tried to make a micro house and I failed at doing that. But eventually I will try again at making one.
