Build the house of your dreams, then when you’re done go through the entire house and change every swatch to the worst color. It’s a challenge that combines best and worst, but really fun because you first build with no restrictions at all. Just make sure you don’t check for bad colors while you build.

This was me on Sims 1 as a kid. And I thought that the more bright pretty colours the better, so I would do multiple flooring colours in each room and so many feature walls and those colourful windows that looked like bubbles. Hideous.

I live in Central California and honestly, a lot of the "fancy" houses look like this. Ornate, comically large entrances. Chairs for kings. Bizarrely expensive fencing. Apparently money can't buy taste 😂

I've made medium sized, two-story houses that are 350,000 simoleons without even trying, and that number's from when I only had the cats and dogs pack! I'm talking about the boathouse in brindleton bay after I renovated it here- it was a lot nicer, but it felt cheaty to play in the house and I didn't really like it that much.
Edit: I'll put it up on the gallery the next time I play if I still have the house saved, if you give a shit about it just search up FancySwimmer and look for it on my profile, if that's how it works- I'm a console player, so I'm new to the whole gallery thing, but I'll call it 'Brindleton Boathouse Renovation' or something if you can't find it through my profile.

This looks like my single uncle’s apartment that was last decorated in the late 80s or early 90s, and he’s never changed it because he’s still maintains the mentality of a 30 year old in the 90s that is actually 60 and still thinks he’s hot shit. He also definitely constantly wears a gold chain.

This reminds me of the first time I ever played the sims (the sims 3, specifically) and I thought that having the most expensive everything was basically the object of the game. And I’d be like “I don’t like how this looks, but I feel like I’m supposed to use it” just because it was the most expensive item.
I got to be honest. I don’t care if it’s tacky, I love this house!! I would change somethings, but I’d live there in a heartbeat.

Why do i love this house-
This reminds me of a house that was near my high school. It was on a small lot amidst a bunch of old split-levels, on a main road near a high school. Some previous owners built it up and out and now it’s European-looking in style, and has seven bedrooms. The lot also boasts a swimming pool and a three bedroom guest house. It goes on sale every few years because the people who can afford it generally don’t want to live in that area. 🤦♀️
You should do this challenge again but with completing the mansion aspiration in mind. So 30 colloms, 15 paintings. The house has to be 350k simoleons etc.

I totally want to do this now! How fun would it be to do this and then make a rule where once you use the item, you can't use it again and have to use the next most expensive item. But once you choose the room you want it in, you have to stick with it.
