The Italians have almost invented everything in this world. In music alone, they invented notes, staff, treble clefs and many musical instruments. Then they invented the helicopter, the engine, the telephone, the radio, the keyboards, the typewriter, the personal computer (computer is not an English word, but Latin), the mp3, the microchip, the plastic, the coffee machine, the glasses, thousands of things were invented, not to mention art and architecture

Hey, I'm italian and I can tell you that Monna Lisa is exhibited in the Louvre museum in Paris because Leonardo Da Vinci moved to Paris at one point of his life and he donated the painting to "Francesco I" who was king of France back then.

    1) it shows the ireland flag not the italian one
    2) biggest part of italian export are industrial product and particularly industrial machinery and farmacauticals, it's the second manufacturer in EU after Germany. So it's a little bit misleading to picture its primary export just in food, wine, shoes and similar craftmanship products.

Vatican is just what remains of the old Ponticial States, which covered most of central Italy until 1870. The new government of united Italy took those terrotories and added them to the new state, with the exception of the Pontificial buildings and Saint Peter on the Vatican hill. Now Vatican owns also several places in Rome (Universities, some convents, and other buildings which bear the Vatican flag, and the basilicas in Assisi). Their laws are more or less the same that ruled the Pontificial states. About religion in Italy, italians are no longer very religious as you said: we have free abortion, divorce and gay marriage. Churches are everywhere, especially in Italy, because they were built centuries ago and preserved.

As for fashion, beautiful cars Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini (who wouldn't want to drive at least one?😀), Italian food is delicious but only if made in Italy or abroad but from high quality restaurants and with Italian chefs and staff. Otherwise the dish is disgusting, a mixture of ingredients that they want to pass off as Italian but in reality it is inedible. Cream You never put it in Carbonara, you put guanciale and not bacon.Spaghetti is absolutely al dente otherwise it becomes they stick together (this applies to all types of pasta, penne, rigatoni, farfalle, fusilli, etc.) and this ball stays on your stomach for days. The same goes for pizza which must be seasoned with fresh ingredients. The blended tomato and mozzarella fior di latte or buffalo mozzarella from Campania and a few fresh basil leaves. This is the typical daisy and in fact it has the tricolor, green, white and red like our flag and owes its name to the 1st queen of Italy, Margherita.
If you are interested in the Renaissance period you can visit Florence and you will be truly satisfied. The Medici, famous aristocratic family of the time were great patrons and called all the best artists of the time to Florence. In Rome, for example, there are the Vatican Museums and there you will find treasures from all overl the eras. Being huge there are many things but most of the precious artefacts are found in the basement of the Museum as we have not yet found a place to display them. But if you turn there Italy you will not be disappointed. Even the smallest of villages has ancient delicacies such as mosaics and castles or paintings, statues and walls painted by great masters. If you go to the Tuscany-Lazio you will find the territory that belonged to the Etruscans, a great people who were highly evolved even before the beginning of the Roman Age. The area is controlled as there is always construction going on leading masterpieces of inestimable value brought to light. There are Etruscan tombs made more or less like the Egyptians. With the grave goods that belonged to the deceased, carts, amphorae and jugs, utensils for the home or the war or the work that the noble guest did. Tombs with wonderful sculptures lying on the shelf above the dead man. In a museum, in the tomb of the deceased there was also his beloved horse. But yes, you could find dogs, cats and other pets. The currently famous Rock band is Måneskin. After making stops in the largest cities in the USA and Canada, sold-out concerts have now landed in Mexico. I love them so much.❤Listen to them and you won't be disappointed. We have a lot of good music that ranges across the board. Turn on the radio and tune in to Italian frequencies.

Hello I'm Italian. Vatican City is one città dentro la città (Roma). Sorry, I'm going back to English. I wanted to say that on average Italians are very believers in Christianity but mostly the older ones. Young people tend to be secular or peuddist of other religions. Many boys and girls are Buddhists for example. But in any case we are predominantly Christians more than all other European countries

      L'arco a Parigi ti ricorda nulla? 😊

A huge % of Italians are Catholic ... but they are the first in the world for profanity. Croatians and Slovenians speak interspersed with profanity in Italian! Northern Italy has 13% surplus of GDP while Southern Italy has a Deficit of 15% ; so the country has 3% deficit of GDP. It means that Northern Italy pays taxes to cover 87% expenses of the South. In Italy we speak different languages (..despite they are defined as dialects..); if someone from Milan and Palermo speaks each other in his original language, they cannot understand. In 1861 (more or less the date of unification of the country), Prime Minister Cavour said to the king: "...we have been lucky to unify the country before the citizens knew each other". In fact, there were 8 kingdoms and duchies before the unification, all independent and with borders to cross.
