Wednesday, August 28th, 2024: Jackie's DMV Forecast: Triple-digit heat returns today

We are looking at what could be the 6th day this year with highs at or above 100. Heat Advisories have been issued and go into effect at 1pm and will remain in effect until 7pm as the heat index could reach over 105 degrees. A cold front will dive in, sparking some thunderstorms later this evening. Behind this front, it will not be nearly as hot for the rest of the week. We still have rain and storm chances Thursday, but highs will be in the upper 80s. Highs will be around 80 by Friday.
