Having the option to switch between two characters in missions or in the open-world would be really cool, Just like games such as AC syndicate & GTA V has for example .

Great story like in Mafia 2 (and longer) including rich open world, many optional things you can do when you get bored, and a good atmosphere so you can feel the early 1900's vibe.
What i'd like to see in Mafia 4, is whatever era it takes it should consider the historical events of that era (like if it was late 40s it'll have the WW2...), And probably it'd be great to see the story of Leo Galante since he's got a major role in the creation of Vito and Sgt.Clay
And the ability to buy cars or maybe boosting cars and considering as a special personal missions (collecting cars and guns probably)

From my point of view, I want the game Mafia 4 to be like Mafia 2. In Mafia 2 there is a wonderful story that makes you live with the atmosphere of the mafia and gangs, in addition to the various facilities in the game: guns shops and luxury suits shop, restaurants, bars in addition to the possibility of modifying any car you like.Even the missions in Mafia 2 have some fun that makes you fall in love with the game.
I want to be able to run small businesses (liquor stores, restaurants, department stores, dealerships, etc.)
The one person we’ve never been able to become is a capo and this is the best way to do it.
I hope Mafia 4 will be thousands of times better than mafia 3

I have 2 ideas for mafia 4!
1. Optional tasks you can do (Side missions unique tasks) but even if that gets in the game, then there should be a feature where you can bring along pals or associates.
2. If the game takes place after Maifa 3, we should have options to buy property, busniuess etc. Like in GTA Vice City where you can buy rackets/busniuess etc. And it give the player some upgrades. Kinda like in Mafia 3.
And Takedowns like Mafia 3

Taking over businesses and Rackets, unique hitman missions, customize clothing and even character, buy black market weapons, fun side missions, buying houses and even customize them, upgrade your skills, climbing up in the rankings or even be a Don like in Godfather 2
Facts mafia 2 will always be my favorite but there's nothing like godfather 2

Fun side missions and unique hitman missions is an absolute must.
I think GTA San Andreas got the lifestyle stuff perfect, In terms of player customisation (Haircuts, Getting fat, Getting muscular and fitter, Running faster etc)
And more missions and cutscenes/characters based on real people.
I think 60’s to 80’s New York would be perfect, Perhaps a longer storyline with loads of time to complete side missions and free roaming

I would love it if Mafia IV adds businesses that the main character could operate, which serve as money laundering schemes/and or "protection" for various stores. You would receive weekly payments, but if the owner refuses to pay up, then you could go over to their store and intimidate them.
This would be an excellent way of allowing the player to feel like a Mafia boss who controls the city.

Yh but it shouldn’t be too incorporated because then it becomes an annoying task that occurs too often, There should be some issues that happen from time to time but not too often
In a lively world, I would like to see side missions, AI or half-scripted events, and a realistic, not brutal police AI.
They would be more aware of their surroundings while driving.
Prolonging the chase.
Public transportation is an option for a different playthrough experience.
In Italy, buses.
Maybe even horse carts if it's a plan to be the prequel of the 1st Mafia.
There were only a few cars in 1920s Italy.
I want a gambling mission/chapter similar to the Executive Card Game/Bust Out episodes in season 2 of The Sopranos. That's one major aspect of mob life missing from the Mafia and Godfather games. You could run the game like Tony or directly participate in the game like Silvio. Challenge your poker skills, snare the civilian deadbeat gambler into a trap.
When it's time to pay up and he doesn't have his vig, beat him up. And when he's completely bled dry, take over his business like Johnny Soprano did with Satriale's meat market or totally Bust him out like what happened with Davey Scatino's sporting goods store.
If it's set in Sicily, I want to come across people from Vito's family like his dad or mom. Picturing the rural Mediterranean roots of key series characters gets me excited for Mafia IV. From what small hints we've heard so far, there's so much potential character development and as many setting choices to explore. I'm hoping for a satisfying and detailed narrative/playthrough that builds more context for every game in the series and resets expectations for Mafia series game play - this installment could really rival R*
I think to say in line with The mafia series we should go too 70’s/ 80’s Las Vegas/ Los Ondas, at this time the fall of the mafia was taking place with law enforcement taking a harder stance as well as drugs poisoning a lot of the families, they definitely should continue with the Italian mafia maybe even a family we’ve already seen from previous games, the actual setting would be amazing from the music such as disco, Motown, rock, rap and reggae. The clothing could be so much more varied from the classic suits to more adventurous flares and colour options as well as more casual clothing, with Vegas comes casinos which could be so easily implanted with other side activities such as controlling businesses/ areas and the actual area itself could feature massive indoor areas as well outdoors from the city to the desert
The only thing we can really agree for the next mafia game, Is that we want the WORLD of Mafia II, the STORY of Mafia III, And the GRAPHICS of Mafia DE, Put all that together along with a GOOD fan service in an awesome 1970s LAS VEGAS With a touch of the Godfather part 2 Style and bang pure gold my friends. This is the route of the greatest mafia game of all time.
I want the character we play as to have a backstory mission that shows what kind of person we were before joining the mob
That would be amazing, Being able to play as a non initiated character and work your way up the ranks optionally.
It shouldn’t be too forced and feel automated, It should be something that you can take control of instead of it being forced on you.

-Buying and owning property and businesses
-Owning houses and apartments
-Companions that help you with missions and doing activities like gambling and mini games like playing pool or poker
-Gambling on horse races, underground fighting clubs (like in the ballad of gay tony) and black

-In depth customization like in the godfather game
-customizable bodyguards
-full money system
as a fan of the mafia series, I would like to see a big map and a big open world online, more activities and side missions, more cities, that's my wish for mafia 4 🙂😊

Im down for it to take place in Italy. I think it would be dope to see us start in Italy and then coming to The States, to Empire Bay. Kinda like Vito's story in Godfather Part II. What I would like more to see would be for it to take place in Florida and Cuba as a prequel to Mafia III during 1950s to early 1960s. I think there are so much potential in that time period and so much they could include. Giving us the opportunity to travel back and forth in those 2 maps which is a gameplay feature we haven't got in The Mafia Franchise yet. Take inspirations from The Irishman, Godfather Part II, The Trafficante Family, Fidel Castros story and so on. Could also include some characters like Tommy Marcano who we know worked in Cuba and also of course Fredo Clemente. Take a lot of inspirations from The Godfather II game cause the gameplay is some of the best I have ever played. Let us own a family who we can send out to kill or take over a rival business, rob stores and banks, extort, hitman missions, races, buy clothes, upgrades to cars and weapons... But what would be the best thing to give us now and what is top of my list is a good and proper Mafia II Remake with the same voice actors.

Yes, it would be interesting to see an interquel between the events of Mafia 2 and Mafia 3, taking place in the very late 50s and early 60s. If we say Mafia 2 originally script ended around 1955-56, then we have a free period from 1959 to 1965.

Everyone is talking about the 70s in Vegas, but I don’t like it very much, because it will already be pure GTA style. The 60s were the limit. "Mafia" is the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, early 60s. Mafia 3 was just set on the edge of time, when GTA starts further.
Or rather, I knew even before the announcement, that is, until 2015, according to simple calculations, that Mafia 3 will be somewhere at the turn of the 60s and 70s. And she will show how that same mafia was destroyed ...
But I think the series of this game will not go further in time, this time they should return to some past periods.
After i watched a documentary explaining all the links between the CIA and the Mafia in america, i would be amazing to have Donovan showing us theses stories.
Okay, I got this spit ball idea:
- "Turf Wars, in Mafia's Free World, where you can take over Turfs, Strongholds, and Rackets. But they'll be under attack, at random intervals of time, until a faction you are at war with, is either destroyed completely, or irreversibly crippled. Reducing the likelihood of your newly-claimed territory being taken over again."
That way, making the open world, more, "ongoing" outside of the main story, side stories, random encounters, etc.
I want the next Mafia to be as good as the first. Nothing has surpassed it for me. Love the series and can't wait for the next addition.
Seeing something like free ride would be nice, but with new features, like driving with our colleagues or just some side locations where we can go and do something that we couldn't in campaign
personally even though their has been a Joe's adventure I would like to see a full game on Joe himself in which you play his come up time during Vito was at war ect and then follows on to when he was split from Vito but I would rather that be a add on rather than a full game itself

And let me be honest, the blood system sucks, we definently need a new blood system with bulletholes like in mafia 2
It would be so cool to see Tommy Angelo make an appearance in Mafia 4, like assuming he never died on his front yard, I mean we never saw a funeral, he could have still been alive afterwards, who knows... also I think it would be cool if they brought back some of Mafia 1's characters even if it's just like a cameo
In my opinion, the mafia series should start going to the 80s, hangar 13 made a great setting in the last titles of the Mafia series that I keep imagining what a Mafia in the best VICE style would be like.
A game in the old country sounds so good! Mafia 4 in Palermo, Sicily could be something so original and unique that will revive the genre altogether!
In my opinion, I think Salieri and Frank can make a cameo, but a new story and characters are needed. A sandbox in 1900's Sicily needs a main character who is decided in making it work there.

Hey,I would like the MC to be a son of the godfather who was seperated from his father when he was young as his mother wanted to get away from the violence of the gang and when he comes back to age come back to the city family and work his way to the godfather, experiencing various challenges and maybe a even bit of inter family rivalry/war would be really exciting. I would love to see the relationship and conversation between family members during a civil war.
What I want is an open world with lots of activities (criminal and non-criminal) to do in the city, things that the real mafia really used to do. Earn money in these activities and things to buy, to spend that money. I want to feel like a mafioso playing Mafia 4. A mix between The Godfather 1, Scarface: the world is Yours, The Godfather 2, GTA San Andreas, and Mafia 2.. it would be amazing
We all want Italian mafia. I wanna see like a Godfather movie game. Mafia 5 about las vegas 1960'S Mafia 5 about 80's mafia 6 about 90's 00 like a sopranos.
Mafia 2 really made it feel like I was in that time period like the music was amazing I love how it changed from when vito got arrested like I hope mafia 4 does that cause when I played mafia2 for the first time my mind was blown I was like how didn’t I know about this game before
I want a drug distributing mafia between Vegas, Miami, New York(optional), and Italy during the 80’s. You can also travel by plane to each location when you want and the story goes from being an associate to a don. Lastly, you have the ability to take over other families and steal their associates.
I want a prequel game set in a fictional 1920's Atlantic City with a hybrid of Mafia 2 and 3's open world mix with buying up and taking over stores and rival business.
I want mafia 4 to be open word game like red dead redemption 2 Customise mafia revolver pistols make your own Choice
1. Feature historical mobsters like Capone
2. The main character runs the family
3. Customization
(businesses, clothes, real estate, and the mob colors/emblem)
Personally want them to try their hand at an open world sandbox again, preferably looking towards the first godfather licensed game for some inspiration, i.e. the extortion and racketeering/territory system, money having a purpose such as clothes weapons maybe even being used for properties...if it's a prequel it could very well be focused upon the rise of that empire so it could make having the money have a bigger purpose in regards to expansion. In terms of empire building, the game could also take inspiration from the 2022 Saints Row, as one of the features I personally liked is the optional businesses that can be placed and the side missions that accompanied them. As much as I personally loved the original games especially the remake, which I hold in true high regard, I am personally yearning for an open world crime sandbox game that is a solid alternative to the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
Frank once said that Tommy can rule this town someday, it would be nice to see Tommy's family.
I Wish we could get a mafia were they could also focus deeply on the game play and good gunplay with having a good story which they normally have good stories

A game just about John Donovan is something I will buy , he is maybe one of the best character in the maffia serries...and seeing him follow-up what was started and the end of maffia 3 will be great ... Plus why else end with a cliffhanger...
I would really like to see these things in mafia 4/5:
- Keeping the simulation thing going with laws, red lights, the ability to change clothes, license plates, getting tickets and such so it doesn't just become a gta clone, mafia Def. Kept it to the original pretty good but would be nice with elements from both mafia 1 & 2
- Good combat system as in mafia 2, or maybe similar to sleeping dogs
- Ability to own houses aswell as racketeering, gambling and such
- picklocking as in mafia 2 were you have to unlock pins to steal cars or get in to locked doors
- An ending to the mafia 2 cliffhanger
At the end of the first Mafia game, after Tommy was shot, it looked like he had a son (sorry if I’m wrong about that), but I would be interested in seeing the aftermath of Tommy’s death and perhaps his son looking for revenge for his father’s murder. It could be set between the mid fifties to mid sixties.
Dlc valued. It's not worth being a whole game.
For the next mafia game I want a Is continuation of tommy Angelo's story we can be able to play as his grandson trying to redeem his family legacy from his grandfather past

For Mafia 4, can we go to Los Angeles/Las Vegas during the 30s to 60s or Philadelphia from the 60s to 80s. They continue to base the maps in known places like Chicago or New York. New Orleans was good but they didn’t stick to traditional mafia standards (Sicilian protagonist). Also can we get online, an actual free roam, more then just 1 or 2 rival families give us 5 like the commission. A ranking system would be good too. Start of as an associate, become a made man, be promoted to Caporegime, then Underboss or Consigliere then finally made the boss of the family. Just a few suggestions
Sorry if this suggestion was allready been said, but maybe they could try to reuse original Daniel Vávra plans for mafia 3, where you would play as two characters, one as gangster, and one as a cop that would be investigating the crimes that you did. At the time it would revolutionary, because these plans were made before GTA 5, where you can switch between multiple characters. Not sure how it would hold up to these days standarts. And then of course, more focus on the story like Mafia 1 and 2 was, and memorable characters. And sorry for my bad english btw, watching from Czech republic.
what i'd like to see in future installments is a focus on melee combat and possibly introducing the 'interrogation' mechanic like in the splinter cell series.
I hope they can give us open world activities like GTA games, buying properties like private homes, businesses, car garages, romance a lot of NPC interaction and I have played Rockstar games over and over again, because I love that open world NPC interaction, and it is not fair that we always need to depend on Rockstar games for this activities, because of this Rockstar games have no respect for the gamers
It would be interesting if they were trying to make a mafia 2 definitive edition, but they would actually add everything they wanted in the actual mafia 2 game so that means every 4 endings dialoge options free ride more weapons that would be dream come true and every other aspect they wanted to add back then
They need to work on the overall aspect of the game such as side quests, rag doll effects, gun play, clothing customizations, factions and recruiting members, random turf wars, vehicle customization, live able city with random mpcs committing crimes, some sort of parkour or climbing feature to be able to climb on roof tops and escape cops on foot like how you can on red dead 2 in saint denis.
Imagine mafia 4 set in the 70s in Argentina, during the dictatorship. The fact that Italian immigration in Argentina is the largest and most important migratory movement that the country has historically received makes it even more exciting.
It also makes sense to me, all the protagonists of the mafia saga are victims of their own time.
It would also be a good opportunity to explore a totally different culture from the one we are used to.
I don't want to make it sound like GTA, but I'd love some free mode heists, maybe a bank job, or a jewelry shop. To case them until you're ready, or just go right in, which obviously alter how easy it is.
mafia 4 should take notes from the godfather game. racket control, extortion, vendetta, mob wars, and more.

It would be great if it was like the movie Casino. Vegas has obviously already been mentioned but there could certainly be a casino aspect to it

If its a prequel to mafia 1 in Sicily, then i would love to be set on different years like 1918 after the WW1 and 1925 when mussolini came to power, it would be interesting to see the traditional cosa nostra in early years and during mussolinis time because he really hated the mafia and it was like a civil war in sicily between the mafia and the government, the map i want to be like red dead redemption 2, since we talking about late 1910s then i want te see small villages, big areas with wild animals or something like that and one big city like Palermo, each village has its own family and we fight against each other for control (remember there is no commission or something like that) i dont want a lot of cars (Sicily is a poor place so people cant really afford, so when you see a car is either the army or a rival family) on free roam i would love to see stores around the world (restaurants, cafes, bars, clothes) and some activities, like gang wars like in gta san andreas (after all is Sicily and the law enforcement doesn't really exist) open illegal businesses like to make alcohol and sell it, deals with other families, gambling, play cards or bet on dog races and please, it would be perfect if the voice overs are in Italian, just put sicilian traditional stuff and it would be perfect

I would love an arcade mode on the main menu, with games such as capture the flag etc. Though I would only want this if we get a more immersive world
Id like to see a " Dodge a Hit" feature where your enemies send hitmen anywhere on the map to kill you at random times.
What Mafia 4 needs is an improved combat system. So far all the combat systems have been extremely mid, but a more heavy and immersive hand to hand combat system would help a lot to make fighting other characters a much better experience. Another thing we really need is NPCs that react and can fight, for example if you were walking along and bumped into one, that it wouldn't just fall over but react and fight. Or being able to interact and invite one to your apartment, to chat and connect, or to make deals or even send them on a mission for you. Maybe you'd be paying rent, and you could find a roommate to split the cost. There's so much you could do (and improve) with realistic, and almost alive, NPCs.
We want to experience the story of joe after the events of mafia 2 in mafia 4
I just really want an immersive world like RDR2 for a Mafia game. As you said any of the iconic mob eras with an immersive city would be amazing, with random encounters and varied side missions and many ways to make and spend money both legally and illegally
I really think the smart thing they should’ve done is set it in the early 70s/late 60s in Las Vegas. I used to live in Vegas and there’s just so much of the mafia that is in the history of the town and even the present. Even more than you see in cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, or New York. I personally think doing a prequel’s kind of a dumb idea.

I'm glad it's a prequel, we need more 40s/50s action games, I don't know how I'd feel about a mafia game based in the 80s
I never paid much attention to actually looking at the collectables after picking them up. The "Fredo Clemente" thing was a great nod to The Godfather 2. But they should have squeezed in a description of him as a "heartbreaker" for the extra grin value.
Everyone wanted mafia 4 to be set in the 70s in Vegas. At the very least, we wanted something similar to mafia 2 with that goodfellas feel to it. Instead they take us back to to just horses and mountains. I’m sick of the mafia developers constantly disappointing us.
Also you can buy mansion/house buy houses and possibly became mafia Don by climbing the ladder of ranks ( at the Free ride mode )
While it is understandable that videogames move forward but I would like to see the Mafia series go back and play as some old characters
like playing as Antonio Scaletta and his life among the mafia in the early 1900's Sicily ,what made him move to America and the role he played in WW 1

A believable story like Mafia 1 and 2, not a one man show that takes on an entire organization.
Something more close to a real life that one might have had by being connected to the mafia in a defined time period.
The reality of that has so many intricacies that there is no need be so far from the truth as we were in Mafia 3
I would like to see a game set between the events of mafia 2 and 3 and play as 2 separate characters Joe and Vito and show how Vito joined the marcano family to see him rise in the family. And see Joe as Leo's chofure chauffeur and play various missions through their 2 separate lives.
I think Mafia 4 should have you continue the story of Mafia 2. It would be cool to see it continue from the ending and let you play as both Joe and Vito, with Vito trying to find Joe and Joe trying to find a way of finding out where Vito is. The game should also try and answer everyone's questions of what happened in appropriate ways to fit the story.

Perhaps this may add too much to the narrative structure of the game to be feasible, so perhaps it could be put into a mode that you unlock upon completion of the more streamlined narrative mode, but an experience where you start off as an associate, climb the ladder to become a soldier, then a capo, and then eventually the Don would be pretty damn awesome. As you climb the ranks, you begin to earn more money, you get more respect (which would affect the way all the NPCs treat you or interact with you, make business deals more favorable to you, give you discounts on purchases, etc.) and more responsibilities and control within the family.
For example, as an associate and a soldier, you basically are just an errand boy; doing hits, extortions, arsons, robberies, carjackings, running shipments of booze or drugs (depending on the era/setting) etc. But once you become a capo, you can start to manage rackets, purchase new ones, order soldiers or take some along with you to carry out those more grunt like missions, and manage the soldiers and associates under your command. It would add somewhat of a strategic element to the game. Guys in your crew have beef? Find a way to settle it. Rumor goes around one of your associates is a snitch? See if it’s true and if so kill him. Pick which soldiers to promote and run each racket depending on their skills, personalities and acumens. Plot and scheme your way from the position of a capo to that of the Don.
Once you reach that level, you have full control. Negotiate with other families or declare war on them to take their rackets and control the whole city.
This would come with an expansion of different systems and things you can do with your money. For example, purchasing houses, cars, clothes and other properties or businesses. Bribing or blackmailing police officers, the mayor, detectives, journalists, judges etc. to manage your heat level. Finding ways to and hiring bankers and lawyers to launder your money.
This would also work crazily good as a persistent multiplayer mode, sorta similar to the RP servers you see on GTA. Have permadeath enabled so that if you’re whacked you have to start from the bottom as an associate again.
While it would obviously take an insane amount of effort and development time, a mafia game that could implement something like that would give GTA a run for its money, and have the potential to takeover the open world crime game market.
Honestly think they should set it between 78-81 that was a very exciting time, the fashion, cars, music
I would love to play as a kid of one of our previous protagonists. Weather Tommy had a son (we didn’t see?), Lincoln had a kid, or especially Vito had son! Playing as Vito’s kid sometime during the 70’s or 80’s would be amazing. Perhaps he had one sometime in the fifties he didn’t know about.
I hope for the atmosphere for 1&2, the gameplay of Definitive 1&3, the story beats of all three hard hitting, and to be in the mob once again. Hopefully the side content balances what made Mafia 3 enjoyable (to me at least) and bring along the great stories they all provide
i want mafia 4 to be just as chaotic as mafia 3 but as AMAZING as mafia 2.

If possible, in Mafia IV I hope they also include purchasing safe houses, and different melee weapons and include modifying weapons like extended magazines or silencers. I also hope they include a sleep system where you can sleep and change the day to afternoon or nighttime. And include scenes like eating, drinking, smoking, and interacting with other characters to be more realistic. And also hope we get to see in the Donovan DLC, an aging Fredo Clemente working as Castro's importer and exporter and one of the conspirators for JFK's assassination. And also in 1970s Las Vegas, I hope to get to see an aging Louie Romeo who still rules the Los Ondas underworld.
I would like to hangout with my friends in Mafia 4 after finishing the main story and NOT LOSING THEM LIKE IN MAFIA 1 AND MAFIA 2

i hope it has more things to do than just the story. Races, big time car and player customization. Being able to buy businesses and run them and upgrade buy houses, mansions, penthouses all features id love to see.
They should add motorcycles in it like they did with the first Mafia, make all cars able to be customized like Mafia II. Have the story line like Mafia III. And add more guns and melee weapons

Not mafia 4 but dlc for mafia definitive edition which will have the story, flow, characters and dialogue of the original 2002 game imagine having the new graphics of the game but with the same story and old dialogue they can just re-use the mafia definitive edition map
I want to see an immersive open world, where the map has so many unique districts that compliment each other as well as the map to be its own character independent of the players actions.
Plus, i dont want it to be linear anymore. I want to do stuff once i am done with the game. For example, maybe we could be on the hunt for a serial killer that has been killing our soldiers plus id love maybe a dating activity
What i want is a completely new mafia trilogy, full of new characters and new places to explore, and a brand new story that would go on throughout the whole game trilogy. It can be a prequel trilogy set in 20s or a sequel trilogy set in the 80s and 70s, but nonetheless i just want a new mafia trilogy.

Well, since other Mafia fans in the cmt section alrealdy said most of the things that I wished for Mafia IV, I don't have much to say.
But there is something that everyone haven't mentioned yet: a COMPLETE, NO-BUGGY (or maybe as few bugs/glitches as possible) FULL GAME at release. That's my biggest wish.
Tbh, even though I'm a Mafia fan, I don't like the state of Hangar13 recently. Let just hope that they can somehow manage to deliver what we want.

What I want from a Mafia Game is crazy ambitious
I Want it set in New Vegas,
Where you start from nothing, And can work your way up the ranks where you could even become the Don. If you make the right choices

(3) (The building an empire) like the Scarface the world is yours game

Where you could recruit your men / crew and they can have different levels / attribute,
You would have to be careful because They could betray you and could be a snitch and working for the other gangs also you could recruit snitch’s and get them to get information on your rivals gangs and so on

If you buy business you can expect them to be attacked and even taken over if you don’t recruit the right men to guard them,
Your business can be blown up which will stop your income for a few week until you pay to have it re-opened but you will still own the business.
But…. If Your business is taken over buy a rival mafia You don’t own it anymore and you will lose the money it makes every week until you take it back over
Also for owning other businesses like for example if you own all the gun shops in the area you can get buffs / perks - like unlimited ammo for your weapons or every crew member of your gang will where body armor and so on
(3) (The building an empire)
I Want all choices to matter, and it has an effect on the story but not only that I want it to effect the open world, for example you can buy land and building casino’s, Restaurants, Clothing stores, Hotels and even Night clubs / Bars,
And so on, where these make you money each week, with your money you choose how to run that business.
Either legit or a illegal
If you choose to run them illegal you could choose to sell drugs, prostitution rings, sell jewellery that has been stolen, loan shark business. Gun shops, car dealers e.g
This could be your side missions you do to keep the business going
I would want a (Morality system), where if you run things illegal, The police/ FBI start watching you more and could shut you down but if you run things all legit the other mafia / crews will see you as an easy target and try attacking your business to take over them or blowing them up

You start as a teenager, And you are sent from New York or Chicago to New Vegas to learn the ropes of becoming a (Made man)
At first you have a mentor as you are young and learning who the big players are in vegas
But as the game goes on this Is where You can choose to be loyal to your mafia / Don by doing everything he says taking all the other mafia / gangs out his way and owning New Vegas
Or
Betraying your Don by take him out step by step, And you becoming the new Don where you call the shots from now on and do things your way

If John Donovan made an appearance in Mafia 4 I wouldn't want the entire story of that game to revolve around him at the end of the day the mafia series is about the mob not about conspiracies and the murder of a president but possibly they can have a DLC kind of like the DLCs for Mafia 3 or Mafia 2 . The DLC would revolve around John Donovans story after Mafia 3
