i still prefer him in mkx. his strings and normals look so good and crisp with hint of magic in every hit
Very in character for him he always had others do his dirty work for him (the revenants, Bi Han, Dvorah, Scorpion etc), he’s always talked a big game but when he can’t weasel his way out of whatever corner he’s backed himself into he gets folded pretty easily. Silver tongue but glass bones and paper skin lol

I like that he and shang tsung are still buds for the most-part 😂
I would honestly say that there isn’t a single dialogue in the game that puts them against each other per say. The only lines of disagreeableness are really just them having a little bit of competition with each other where they don’t want to reveal some of their new abilities. Even when they claim that they aren’t sure if they will team up again I find that this is more or less a refusal to commit but every reference points to them clearly still being a pair. Both of their ending towers also point to them finishing the main ending being lonely and desperate, no way in hell they don’t want to team up again 😂. It’s also likely that neither side wants to take orders from the other hence the need to not fully be a team. Makes it more organic most likely. They’re a fascinating pair

They certainly seem more copacetic than the last timeline. Even after defeating Raiden they went straight to betraying the other.
They kinda have to stick together at this point or the earthrealmers will capture them both

OK, that was a FATALITY before the match even started.
For those who don't know, the tenticles that are coming out of the portal behind Quan Chi, are the same tenticles that appear in Mortal Kombat Mythologies Subzero.
They serve as an obstruction(even fatal) to Subzero while in the Netherealm to get back Shinnock's amulet, under Raiden's order.
Quan Chi loves adult anime across all timelines too much, I guess

I like how Shang Tsung and Quan Chi actually seem pretty chummy with one another in this timeline.
I always liked the villainous group and/or duos that were actually friendly and shared a sense of camaraderie, as opposed to it just being a partnership out of a mutual interest and them being ready to stab each other in the back at a moment's notice.
Granted, I'm sure they both have plans to eventually usurp one another but I like to think they'd be disappointed if either one didn't.
That has always been their relationship since deadly alliance.

The rational ones see his old voice as too calm and overly faux affable, unfit for a wicked sorcerer like Quan Chi, the voice of which would work perfectly on Shang Tsung. This new voice is more fitting of a card-carrying evil sorcerer, and he's more than glad to ham it up even more.

It makes perfect sense if Quan Chi was the one who made the Tarkat virus. In the original timeline, Tarkatans were Outworlders with Oni blood, and Oni originates from the Netherrealm.

8:31 What's weird is that Reiko once did serve the Brotherhood of Shadows (before and during MK4), that's why his face was marked originally (similarly to other early series BoS characters like Quan Chi and Sareena), it would've been interesting if NRS would've revisited Reiko's relationship with Quan Chi, because later on in the original timeline Reiko hates him and even in the second timeline Quan Chi led to Reiko's downfall by manipulation Shao Kahn and using Nitara and Havik to allow Reiko to self destruct, hence elminating him as a threat
