- A full English breakfast is the ULTIMATE weekend treat. Greasy, hearty, substantial. However we're not quite sure that a FISHY full English, a STEAK full English and an ITALIAN full English quite fits the brief...but when have we ever been conventional?
Here are the places we headed to and don't forget to tell us your fave places for a full English in the comments!...

Best part of a full English brekkie aside from the actual meal is the friends with you at your local spot catching up with everyone's week :)
Shobha Maharaj Wenger IN
Smh you sound like a neek with the smiley face at the end

Shobha Maharaj and catching the very fast ride to heart attack, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and stroke avenues . 😆😆😆
Shobha Maharaj fat shit
Man, the vibe in that Italian Cafe was electric!
Everything Italian is electric! 😊
@@Grumbledookvid no u
Those chips homemade 🤔 hmmm ok
@@Grumbledookvid mate shut up that's the greasy spoon full English for ya
I'm like that where I work (Germany in an Irish bar), but Germans don't like it that much 🤣
My mum used to have a burger van up here in Scotland and her breakfasts for £3.50p you got 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, 2 black pudding, beans, fried bread, or potato scone, a buttered roll and a cup of tea, or coffee. Couldn't beat it! 👍😎🍺⚽
Jon Mowat That sounds so good 😋
Thats a breakfast right there fella! Hope shes doing well!
Needs tatty scone for sure. Fried bread too if you're heart isnae fucked
Haggis too
RESPECT Jon to your Mum and a serious plate at a fair price 🤘🏼
Went to visit E. Pellici's on a trip to London because of this video and LOVED it. Great breakfast, brilliant atmosphere, the staff were super welcoming. And we did get some bread pudding to go - amazing! I will be going back every single time I'm in London for as long as it's open.
The pellici bloke with the London accent stayed in the villa next to me in Italy! Got to know his kids proper well, he’s a top fella! Crazy to recognise him on here
Small world huh
No one cares
You sound sad
@@MrCraigbry i care. Sorry. But I care a lot. It's very sweet
@craig bryson Dude, who hurt you? You're kinda cringe.
Go to #1 for a bit of a change. Go to #2 for Sunday brunch. Go to #3 for the classic breakfast. I've got to admit that 9 out of 10 times I would choose #3.
maij32 I thought #2 looked absolutely gorgeous and would definitely go for that but yes I feel like it lies in the brunch territory.
I think with the price as well it has to be a "treat" breakfast unless other people chip in and its brunch, so later in the day and you've got the room for the food. Otherwise, number 3 all the other times
It's not bad for the price between 3 I'd pay £10 for a fry up round my way.@@bellewestley6856
I live just down the road from Pellicci's and spent so much of my childhood there. Food is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is incredible. Would highly recommend you stop by if you are ever near Bethan Green/Hackney Road
true darling
Yeah the famous bread pud.
The third place seems like instant comfort, a place you would go at the end of the week to catch up with everyone. Its got s very family like atmosphere. You know everyone and there something comforting about that
Pellicci's is absolutely amazing. Grew up just down the road and it was a massive part of my childhood, still make sure to go there whenever I'm back from uni. My personal recommendation is the spaghetti bolognese, make sure to get some chips to mop up all the leftover sauce
Mopping up bolognese with chips. You just got perma-banned from Italy xD
E. Pellicci looks like the ultimate happy place!
kiki12kara I visited in summer ‘18 and it was indeed a happy place! Great fry up. Wonderful hosts, try the desserts, too, delicious.
The krays loved it
@Materazi Islam the kray twins, London’s most famous gangsters from the 60s
Best full English I had while visiting was from a van outside a train station in Manchester (I think?) during an unexpected gap in a connection. They grilled the sausages and bread over coals and used a fearless amount of butter.
If there was a Pellicci's near my house I'd be eating there every day.
surprisingly the only full english breakfast in this video is at the italian restaurant
All 3 looked good, but the Hawkmoor looked best. Can't beat steak and eggs. That said, I'd love to check out the Italian place for the atmosphere, but I'd have to skip the mushrooms and blood pudding.
@@SirLyonhart There wasn't any steak on their plate thoo
@@Smithy250 They went with a short rib, but they still called it steak. I imagine it's an English thing. I'd have been happy with pretty much any cut of beef, without the mushrooms and black pudding.
@@SirLyonhart they had a bacon chop, so it would be from a pig wouldn't it? I'm with you though, any cut of beef is awesome. I always like ordering a full breakfast, or big breakfast as it is commonly listed in Australian menus. For some reason the cafes and restaurants don't label it as an English breakfast. Shame though, considering Britain is our mother land.
@@milkshakemuncher Well, I can understand. For us, a full breakfast is either steak and eggs, or eggs and bacon and/or sausage, with buttered toast, and maybe pancakes or biscuits and gravy on the side.
Mushrooms and beans, on or off toast, aren't even a thing for breakfast, and blood pudding isn't a thing ever.
The best are usually at a greasy cafe and no where near central London
50
Yeah spot on..these guys are going to ponsie restaurants and not cafes
Ad Digi first one wasn’t
Speedy’s do an amazing, really cheap breakfast. Proper greasy spoon cafe. It’s on North Gower St, closest tube station is Euston Square so it’s all still zone 1 and not far from Euston station. Staff are all great and all the customers seem to know each other - it can get a bit touristy though it was a film location for BBC’s Sherlock (which tbh I see as an added bonus)
@@addigi5598
Ponsy? One of them is on Bethnal Green road ffs.
Love E Pellici, grew up in east London and was always there, now living abroad and places like E Pellici make me homesick.
I love breakfast, I just don't like waking up for it.
I eat mine before I go to bed...
Mood 🌚
AMEN
that's why we serve em all day ;)
Thing is, for me I agree that the mushrooms and tomatoes are the most important parts of a Full English, but not for the reasons you'd think. It's easy for a restaurant or "greasy spoon" to get somebody to enjoy bacon, sausage, egg and fried bread, but to get someone to enjoy mushrooms and tomatoes as part of the same dish is a different ball game altogether. if a place can do the basics well, but make the mushrooms and tomatoes stand out, then they'll always have my custom.
Went to E. Pellicci twice when I visited London, absolutely amazing. They gave us bread pudding both times! Also a scene from the film "Legend" was filmed at E. Pellicci, they have a picture of the scene hung up on the wall there.
Andre Ho they are amazing!!!
The reason the scene from Legend was filmed there was due to the Kray Twins regularly using this cafe in the 50's and 60's
Legend production was based at the 3Mills studio in east london and they used a lot of local places.
I am headed to London in 2019 - it's now on my list!
All three looked amazing! Think my winner would be Mike’s pick. Great food at a great price and it looked really cosy! 🍳
Ayesha McGrego
Ayesha McGregor I
cosy cosy cosy dumb ass
TheLiberalMachine cosy*
Hawksmoor is amazing though...
"unlimited toast!"
"there's actually only four slices, so I don't kno-"
"I think we can ask for more"
That last place put a smile on my face.
I've just added E Pellicci to my must visit list on my next visit to London. Thanks guys!
Mike's choice is the winner for me. Good food and better atmosphere. Nothing wakes you up faster than a full english in a lively bar.
Scallops on a full english behave yourselves!
Scallops are a proper working class coastal food. They used to be served in prisons in Georgian and Medieval times they were so cheap
I'm for the Italian one for breakfast and then the Scollops one for lunch. Sounds like a damn fine way of saving money and getting stuffed at the same time :)
James Hughes bunch of sputniks these lads
Ben's a bit of a lad himself.
Should get their cunts kicked in for that
Liking the Hawksmoor breakfast - esp the way it was served, so you could take what looked good, and serve yourself. And unlimited toast says it all!
Came here straight from listening to the podcast, my morning is full of Sorted.
Or is sorted-full
Yep! They have a link in the description of some of their recent videos that takes you to sign up for their newsletter and once you sign up you'll get a link to their podcast that just started this past Friday!

Hey Sorted, I’m giving you free publicity, can I get a brownie point?😂😂😂
lizatonix indeed this is the 1st time I hear about the podcast and it's from you
When you're so accustomed to London that a £4 bacon roll is considered cheap!
With scallops? Bargain
Oh god, 4 years and a hell of a lot of inflation in the UK later...a £4 bacon roll is cheap now 😢 it's probably like £8 in London now
@@Handleshmandle1 Stop talking shit mate. The Bacon rolls in the average London Pret A Manager are only £3.90.
The Hawksmoor breakfast is literally making me drool it looks excellent
Sorted food I have an idea for you to try. Why don't you cook some recipes from various points in history and see how our tastes buds (and stomachs) have changed? Could be interesting and funny :)
Lol it's buzzfeed but way better
max atkinson it’s buzzfeed but not sh*t
The Worth It Series can't be beaten sorry. But the rest of Buzzfeed except that and Unsolved are trash content.

We don't mention Satan here.
Buzzfeed is sh*te!
0:31-2:33 Piggy's Cafe is in Poplar, Tower Hamlets, 2:49-4:54 Hawksmoor in Spitalfields, Tower Hamlets, 5:01-7:26 E.Pellicci is in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets.
Isn’t that Hawksmoor at Guildhall? Spitalfields doesn’t do breakfast does it?
That Hawksmoor is the Guildhall one, it's the only branch that does breakfast.
“We know Iris, she needs to keep her knickers on” HAHAHAH
Going to London next month, and this series just made picking the restaurants to go so much easier.

Brilliant! What are your top picks so far?
SORTEDfood Definetly E Pellicci, The Sea Shell of Lisson Grove and Yoobi!
Great shouts! You'll have to let us know your thoughts once you've been

£10 is the high price point for me 😂
Posh millennial toffs think a full English means 40 quid of their dads money and some pan fried scallops 😂
10 pounds is cheaper end for London
@@mukiwabanda2794 For a tenner I could make a full English 5 times that size (all of them)
@@OpinionatedMonk yeah, now rent a shop in London, pay staff and make a wage.
@@tmarritt In London?
Rather top mesen ;-)
My heart almost stopped dead just by watching that feast of heat stopping deliciousness. Ow! That looks good.
Minor criticism. More distance between the eggs and the beans. I may want to mix them but I’d like that to be my decision. Use a sausage as a breakwater.
Apart from that is it a 10 on 10?
@@slabhead 7 on 10, let's make love on the bonkette.
@@harryflashman2029 I find a Full English makes an excellent aphrodisiac.
Agree, weird how so many people have egg touching beans phobia
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dunno about the "full English" but the next time I'm in London I'm going for that Billingsgate breakfast. Scallop and bacon roll? Yes please!
Top 45 restaurant in London on TripAdvisor? yawn.....
Can't hold a candle to the Shed at Dulwich.
YESSSS 🤣🤣🤣
Caleb Fong so happy someone else knows about that
The first thing that came to my mind when mike mentioned trip advisor hahahaha
Caleb Fong Top tier troll. I loved that so much.
camelpissflavour im going liverpool next week do you know where abouts it is? Would love to try
Went to E.Pellicci couple years back. Highly recommend
Went to Hawksmoor with my friends the last time I was in London and DAMN! That was probably the most delicious breakfast I have ever had!
love how Mike can read Jamie's mind for the love of chips 😆you guys really know each other well 😛
When I lived in Norwich the place we ALWAYS went to for a brilliant full english was at the Street Cafe on Magdalen Street. SO good!
amyamo1 have you ever been to Prescott , by liver pool?
Patrick McCarthy nope!
amyamo1 well the Wetherspoons and mccdonalds are better than normal mccdonalds and Wetherspoons, all so we have the flaming grill restaurants with weard burgers in St Helens near by , you should visit
Patrick McCarthy i will keep that in mind next time im in norwich. Live in sweden now!
amyamo1 aaaaah..... you nabbed a Swedish hottie and got swooped away!! Send me one of them by post!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can't remember its name, but there was a cafe we once stopped at in Peterborough. I thought £12 for a full English was outrageous until I tried it. That was years ago, but a week doesn't go by without me thinking about that breakfast. I should really go back and find it.
Let us know if you find it
Went to London for the first time in October last year and made a POINT to get to E Pellici whilst there. Was staying on Bethnal green and it was HANDS DOWN the best. Walked in and immediately put at ease. Was served so much food I couldn’t possibly finish. They whisked my plate away and packed me a lunch to take with me sightseeing.... the balance of my breakkie in buttered bread and pudding AND tea to go... no additional cost!
I’m going back to London for 2 weeks tomorrow and this time staying in Kensington... trying to work out getting back to Pellicis without breaking the bank in transport fees.
Go! You’re not going to be disappointed!
Excellent choices all around and I don't know how I would rank them!
Hawksmoore looks like a great place to go on a brunch date with and like Jamie said, if considering the ambiance, amount and quality of food that you get, pricing isn't bad at all.
Piggy's Cafe - beautifully cooked scallops for that price? Absolute bargain. It's definitely a spot that all seafood lovers should visit.
E Pellici is so charming and I really want to go just so I can meet everyone - especially you, Iris! The food looks fantastic and is so affordable. Out of the three, this is the spot I'd be most keen on visiting.
In 2015 when I visited London the hotel I stayed at was in Shepard’ Bush and there was this super tiny breakfast/brunch place within walking distance called Hummingbird Deli. Arguably some of the the best food I got to eat while there 😍
More of these!
Like best Curry, Best Meatballs, Best Thai, Best Vietnamese, Best Chicken, Best Dessert, Best Icecream, Best South Korean.
And there's gotta be some idk, Swedish inspired places etc as well, it could just swing into "Best Chinese inspired" etc.
Best cure after a hangover with a glass of OJ. I always keep this in stock for the weekend after a heavy night out.
bacon and fried egg is literally medicine
Why is it so quintessential Ben to 'marrow' his toast rather than butter it 😂
Because he went to culinary school and now his standards are too high for butter Lol
Basically meat flavoured butter, I get it
Do a Sunday roast next
billyk lufc yes!
I'm an Italian American and my aunt and uncle owned and ran a bar/restaurant near Pittsburgh. Pellicci's has the same vibe as their place. Everyone knows everyone and it's a local hangout. This actually brought a tear to my eye.
A traditional full English breakfast should consist of Sausages, Bacon, Eggs, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, bread pudding, fried bread, a side order of 2 slices of bread with butter, cup of tea or coffee. Anyone in the UK selling that for more than a fiver (£5) is ripping you off because all the ingredients are bought in bulk which means each individual ingredient is a couple of pence. The reason I know this is because my father started out as a chef in his younger years working in hotel kitchens. My aunt was also a chef who had her own B&B on the Isle of Sky. One of my cousins married a chef who worked in hotel kitchens in Essex and I currently have a nephew who works as a chef in the South East, has worked in hotels, pubs and cafes, so yes I have a very good idea of how much food items cost in the trade.
What tends to put the prices up is when food establishments add different ingredients to the breakfast, ingredients one would not associate with a full English breakfast. Gammon is a popular choice as an alternative to bacon but one thing that should never ever be done to a full English breakfast is too add any fish related ingredient.
Calm down, Ramsay.
Omg im drooling over here.
Thanks for posting guys! ☺
E.PELLICCI... ☺

All Good kray twins local
We love the twins
Recommended Pellicci to my Husband,, our daughter treated him to dayin London to visit where his granddad lived, Bow end of Old Ford, he still raves about the meal he had, they did a facetime from BG road and around to St. Matthias where I was a pupil.
Lovinspoon in Dublin, Ireland. Best breakfast I've ever had.
I have to disagree with the guys. Ben's breakfast satisfied the full English definition.
It really annoys me that they stressed how it had to be a "full English breakfast" and then have fish at the first cafe.
More of an 'Isle of Mann' breakfast.
lwoody1973 I thought if anyone would put fish in a full english, it would be Barry.
Agreed!
Who cares it looked good
You obviously got too little to worry about then :)
I love the energy in the small Italian cafe it screams community
Would only be polite I introduce you to everyone before we feed and knock you all out with one punch basically is what happened 💀😂 6:15
If I had the money, and the ability to eat that much, I'd go with Jamie, but for good food, great atmosphere and brilliant value for money, it has to be Mike. Sorry Ben, but I really don't want to have Fish so early in the day.
Wow while watching this video I ate a lot and enjoyed you people eating, my vote will be for hawksmoor because it is my favourite also. Service is 5 star rated at my last visit my steak was cooked like hell really enjoyed it. After the lunch we booked a taxi in London from waterloocars.co.uk for our sightseeing tour. Both Highly recommended
Tricia Waldron fair point but you can treat yourself to a hawksmoor breakfast once in a while as they do individual portions of the same breakfast but it’s always worth it as the price is for the quality of food and service.
Shamir Patel still couldn't eat it if it had been for 1 person. I've had a gastric bypass and have to be careful of what I eat and how much !!
Tricia Waldron my bad apologies.
Shamir Patel apologies for what !?!
The thumbnail... It's... It's just so beautiful 😭
it instantly made me hungry
Adrian oh my god same. Totally went into 'I wants it!' Gollum mode.
We are taking my son to London for his birthday and are plotting proper full English breakfasts. Fried toast and blood sausage seem so necessary...
Mixing sauces for sure
Fried toast, ask for fried bread and blood sausage ask for black pudding these are our old names for these, have fun and feel free to eat too much
Love it. All three are on my bucket list now when I get over there with the fam. Please more London's best videos.
In Northern Ireland we have an equivalent of a full English called an Ulster fry. It’s basically the same thing but with potato bread and soda bread instead of toast.
I had an incredible one in Belfast (Ben)
Ugh the best ever
You get toast with an Ulster Fry but more importantly, you get a bit of Dip with it too - could go some fadge, wheaten or soda right now. Also white pudding - yum, I could murder a fry-up right now. Not fussed about baked beans, a modern and unnecessary addition. You always got a bit of fried apple at my grannies, I put it down to that she was a culchie.
A proper full English has fried bread anyway, not toast, IMO.
How is that a full English breakfast without a Sausage?
Philip Burns It isn't. The End.
Philip Burns, I will trade sausage for scallops any day.
Barbara Danley
Not the point though
Barbara Danley uncultured swine
Hotdogs or/ and langgonisa can be alternative
Bwahahahahahha
The combination of brilliant and hilarious, I just love you guys!
Having scallops for breakfast sounds divine to me. :)
Rafina cafe in Reading. Had their breakfast today, been sooo many times and it's always fantastic.
I can't imagine how good the second one smelled
The Italian place reminded me of the places where we get Full Ulster Fry in Northern Ireland, before you realise you are part of a conversation taking place between half the tables, you have made friends for life! The Scollops and bacon were a shock, a very pleasant one for only £4 WOW!
There's a little cafe in my hometown in berwick upon tweed, on the scottish borders (but still english), and they server a cross between an english/scottish breakfast with haggis sliced like black pudding etc. Totally amazing
That guy’s accent in Mike’s choice.. as a Londoner living up north I’m feeling so homesick right now! 💔
Im only two minutes into the video, but Ben gave you scallops for breakfast so he's already won.
Edit: I just finished the video - Ben still won.
Becky ebers is you're new name
I wish it was mine
Last time i checked bone marrow wasnt in full english either!. Ebers hands down won
Becky you are fat, you don’t count.
Yep I am, but I still count. You, however, are ignorant and stupid and unfortunately that's permanent so your opinion will always be worthless. Good luck with that 😘
I think it is still there: I worked at 375 Ken High in 1979-1982, and there was a "caff" on the southwest side of the railway tracks just as Kensington High St. becomes Hammersmith Road. They did (and probably still do) a lovely breakfast!
Boulevard cafe, great Yarmouth, I'm an East London boy born and bred and worked construction for over a decade and had a full English from literally thousands of cafes. Boulevard great Yarmouth is the top of the bunch for authenticity, price, customer service, taste, speed, portion size...the lot.
nailed it guys!
Personally I would go for Ben's choice, fish is such a fresh way to start your morning!
JacobEhlers The only suitable English breakfast fish is a 'kipper,' a smoked herring. Often served with a poached egg.
That first breakfast looked amazing! I love scallops.
These all looked really interesting and I'd love to actually try them all as different takes on a full English.
I think you're missing out though if you've not tried Polo Bar over at Bishopsgate, whenever I have to go to London for work I will always try to visit there at least once, and on the plus it's open 24hours so get your full English at whatever time of day you want.
I would never eat scallops for breakfast but they looked good.
Full English breakfast looks so good 🤤
FULL SCOTTISH BREAKFAST ALL DAY LONG
1. HAGGIS
2. SQUARE SAUSAGE
3. TAWTIE SCONE
THEN A SELCTION OF
BACON, BEANS, EGG, MUSHROOMS, FRIED BREAD, TOMATOES.
Great video gents. You guys work well together. I felt like I was part of the family. E Pellicci it is...
Hawksmoor for that exact meal is my first port of call every time I go to London. It's been spectacular every time.
you are a lucky person...
Has to be Hawksmoor based on the black pudding alone. FYI, Polo Bar opposite Liverpool Street station do a great Full English too. I highly recommend their Philly Cheese Steak.
I have to give the win to Mike because he had the key component of fried bread. I only have 4 things in my full English, and never eat it in the morning. I have 6 Richmond sausages cooked in the oven for about 20 minutes, 6 rashers of streaky bacon cooked in the wok with olive oil and salt until they are totally crispy but not burnt. I heat a tin of tomatoes with salt, pepper, and occasionally some basil. Once the bacon is draining on kitchen paper, i cook the fried bread in the bacon fat, about 30 seconds each side, then add salt to it. That's my version.😋
This is the best food channel on TH-cam by a country mile. Loved the Hawkesmore breakfast. Will be there in June.
Here am I just eating a dry piece of toast with just butter on...
How is it dry with butter on!!
Ben would have immediately lost for trying to feed me seafood at 8 AM!!
OMG PELICCI!!! First of all... that gentleman that served them.... he's not putting on an act for camera... He really is like that in real life... The food there is so GOOD!
I started as a chef in a cafe like this..the atmosphere is always crazy.. good times
2:17 This is how I'm going to win every argument from now on.
Spot On Cafe, (Tony Doyle's) on Tir Llwyd Industrial estate, off St Asaph Avenue, Kinmel Bay, near Rhyl, North Wales, the best full English (In Wales!)
Thanks for the recommendation guys. Visited hawksmoor during our last trip...full English with the cornflakes milkshake (with bourbon of course). It was amazing.
I said it on Twitter but dear God "now THERE'S a full English breakfast" is the best way to describe a really attractive person, especially a total beefcake.
banners in crouch end is the best full English for a good price in London!!
went there as a kid, came into the comments to see if there was a chance someone mentioned it!
jelly fishing how couldn't I!
There is no reason to ever pay more than 8-9 quid for a full English
I would'nt pay that, £5-6 maximum, Basildon Market cafe next to the charity shop, full blow-out £4-50, you can't move after !!
pinkyman5155 that's a good deal m8
Anything over a fiver really needs to justify itself.
8 or 9 quid for a full english? Wtf xD they sprinkling gold on that shit?
I agree callum hahahaha
It all looked really good, but if I ate that much for breakfast, I would need to go back to bed. Nice job!
You guys r awesome .. I like the way u analysed n compared the three different places for English breakfast .. I would like to visit the third one
