One of the challenges for writing non-fiction is to get the balance right. You don’t want to write a dry, academic tome, but neither do you want a fluffy book of no substance. You also want to feel that your writing project is a creative experience and not a painful college assignment. So how can you turn what feels like a boring book into an engaging read?
    In this video I discuss:
    - Sharing your story and personal experience - YOU are original and your voice will bring your book alive
    - Don't be too academic
    - Eliminate jargon
    - Use active language
    - Use quotes, images, illustrations, photos or other visuals

I think this is great advice! I always think of nonfiction books today as halfway between a blog and an article, but obviously a lot longer. The additional of visual tools as well is always a good idea to help people learn.

Brian Tracy says much of the same things for non-fiction books.

Very interesting. I included anecdotes to illustrate points, which caused my editor to grumble that I was mixing genres. Thank you Joanna!

In what form should permissions be, to be legal?
Will this form also apply to photos of people, and places, that may be used?
Does the permission form also apply to cover models?
    Thanks in advance!

Can I really put my story into my book. It doesn’t sound too selfish? Bring in emotions. More open way. Put in diagrams. Make it more visual. Bring yourself and your personal experiences to find interest. Bare your heart. Bring other people’s quotes. No jargon, less big words, people’s words. Put in diagrams. That adds visual.

You have to bring yourself into the book, or it's just another boring non-fiction book. There are already books on every subject under the sun, but there is no other book written from your perspective.

How would I go about creating a non fiction book correcting the evolution of history.
