I'd say that about 50% of the field was in Janikowski's range when he was in his prime! He had an attempt from 64 one time that hit fairly high up the right upright and bounced away.
@@Harpoon2theRescue shoot bro same! In my 28yrs of life, I’ve only seen the Raiders make the playoffs 3x!!!!! Tuck rule, Superbowl, and then in 2016. Just plain sad lol
@0:16 Chris Carr interception for some reason was reminiscent of Charlie Smith's catch and score in the Heidi Game because they both wore the same no 23 . Great play ..the reaction of the crowd in a very disappointing 2006 season.
It was very explainable. The Steelers are a zone defensive team with average speed. The Raiders were known as the fastest team in the NFL. The Raiders got their playmakers in open space and the Steelers couldn't catch up. As Al Davis said, "Speed Kills".
Interesting. I know that was the argument from Al Davis against playing the immaculate reception game- because the field was frozen over and they couldn't run fast. I never thought about it in a modern sense. I remember about 10 years ago (maybe more), the Raiders had a guy named Jacoby Ford who, to this day, ran faster than any player I can recall seeing. Don't know whatever happened to him though.
It's actually not inexplicable at all. It's always been a speed issue. The Steelers run a zone defense and use slower players. The Raiders under Al Davis cornered the market in speed. It always came down to match ups. The Steelers just couldn't cover all game long.
Some of the worst Raiders teams in Raiders history, beat some of the Best teams in Steelers history,That's why this game is so beautiful,ANY GIVEN SUNDAY
Was at the 2012 game where THE POLISH CANNON made all them steeler fans Shit Themselves....ONE OF THE BEST TIMES I EVER HAD... They Cant BEAT US Especially in THE WEST 0 WINS
I was mainly referring to recent times. I find it surprising because the Raiders haven't been very good lately (nearly every season since '02) and the Steelers are always contenders. However, the LA/Oakland Raiders are 3-3 all-time against Pittsburgh in the playoffs. I don't root for either team
Well technically they can't play each other in the Super Bowl... but you're right, the Steelers did have some big postseason wins against the Raiders in the 70s. However, anything can happen in a playoff game (See the "Immaculate Reception" lol). The reason for this video is because I find the fact that the Raiders, who have been so horrible over the last 15ish years, have managed to dominate the Steelers, who are usually one of the better teams in the league.
They won at Heinz field in '09... and, if you're going to make that argument, I'd argue that the Raiders would've won the Immaculate Reception game if the field wasn't frozen over at Three Rivers. The Raiders' pass and speed oriented offense suffered more due to the field than the Steelers' run heavy offense did.
@@IanMalcolm-rw5pn Very true. Although I do think that Steelers fans did the same thing back when the rivalry was competitive. Seems like the rivalry moved to Baltimore along with the team back in '95
@@IanMalcolm-rw5pn The Browns haven't swept them since Chuck Noll was the Steelers' coach and Bubby Brister was their quarterback (I think). You're right, they have had a few big games since the return but I can't remember the Browns winning a single one. The ones that stick out are the 2002 playoff game and the 2007 game at Heinz with Josh Cribbs running all over the place
Was at every single one of those Raider Home games, my dad is a Steeler fan. They never won in Oakland when we went, great memories.
They never one in Oakland when Big Ben was qb
Great memories bro. Me and my dad was there as well. Great times in Oakland 😔😔
Hard to believe that Ben Roethlisberger has more wins against the Patriots (4) than the Raiders (2).
That 2015 game vs the Steelers was a heartbreaker. We couldn't stop AB all game. Smh!!!
"In Janikowski field goal range."
Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?
63 yards or less lol
I'd say that about 50% of the field was in Janikowski's range when he was in his prime! He had an attempt from 64 one time that hit fairly high up the right upright and bounced away.
Chris Carr had more yards on that INT than the raiders offense that day 😂
That's exactly right,I remember that game,With Art Shell's old as 1992 offense ,playing the super bowl Champs from the previous 🤣
The fact that Big Ben retired with an 0-4 record against us in our house ☠️😤😤

Big Ben has never won in Oakland
And it appears he never will
Is this true?
As a long time Oakland fan I always thought the Steelers were dominant against the Raiders the last 20 yrs.

Steelers and Mike Tomlin are notorious for playing down to their opponents
Absolutely. I remind my Steeler friends of this all the time
This predates Tomlin though. The Raiders were tough on Cowher's teams in the mid-2000s too. The first game here was a win over him.
Raiders lead the Steelers 16-13 in the win-loss over the history of the franchises. Next week it will be 17-13.

The Raiders dominated the Steelers during the Ben years. So Kenny Pickett decided to make hell for them.
