The blue mosque is to me the most beautiful mosque I have ever experienced. The approach, the size, is perfect. The first time I entered, I was so mesmerized, enhanced by the contrast of the grey exterior and the blue tiles of the interior. The mosque is both monumental and intimate. What a magnificent building.
St. Peters Basilica is amazing and much larger of course, but it doesn't capture the intimate symmetry of Ottoman Mosques. Selimiye in Edirne is the most perfect symmetrical building ever constructed. Suleymaniye and Blue Mosque are just as grand in their own right with not just the main dome but the semi domes. As a someone who has visited many cathedrals, basilicas and mosques, Selimiye, Suleymaniye and Blue Mosque the Sultan Ahmed mosque are the most amazing structures I have ever been in. The architecture is way more impressive than St. Peters Basilica. The only thing that impressed me with St. Peters was the sheer size. If it wasn't fir all the paintings the architecture is underwhelming at times.

If the Blue Mosque was built to rival and out do the Hagia Sogia (which is now a mosque), then the Hagia Sofia should be changed back into a church again. Also, the Hagia Sofia does not face east like most early churches do but faces Jerusalem (and not Mecca) instead. If the Muslims had permitted the Hindus to use a portion of the Babri Masjid like they are now doing at some other sites in India, then perhaps the Babri Masjid would still be standing!!!
Jerusalem is south east from Haghia Sogia, so is Mecca. We are not giving it back, thank you😊. Not to mention Christians are not as interested in worship as Muslims are so especially in today's time turning it into church would be a waste of space. You are welcome to come inside though. 😊

How would you feel if Christians conquered Mecca, turned the Main Mosque into a church, and then said to Muslims "Hey, you can still visit it, just not when we are praying OK"?
Also, many churches in England are being abandoned, turned into homes, demolished or being sold to Muslims and some turned into Mosques since people don't seem to be following christianity as they once used to.
