I always remind new operators to keep their hand on loader control when loaded. Just dropping the weight to the ground can stop so many potential roll overs. The second or two trying to find the control as tractor is tipping. Maybe the time needed to get it set back down! Enjoy your vacation or whatever you are up to this week! Where is Guy finding room to keep stacking wood? I thought the wood shed was really full in early spring?
Nice Grapple on the Tractor Gord. Staying in this week as Its going to be to Hot and Humid out. Enjoy your Week of Vacation. Hopefully I will be out next Week in the Woodyard doing a Little. I am Restricted to 1hour a day and no More. Stay Safe my Friend, Be Kind, and see you at the next Video. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
Good morning Gord and Guy, you two got a lot of wood moved and split today. Lots of good information about the ground contact moving around in the forest and operation of the grapple while rocking and rolling around. That turf can put you in a bine real quick if you're moving too fast and the load is high off the ground. Have a safe trip and will catch you when you get back. Fred.
I have a little tractor that is tippy too… safety is important… taking 5-10 min to run a box blade or land plane across your much traveled areas could be worth it. It’s unnerving tipping back and forth on the narrow wheel base of the compact and subcompact tractors.
This coming week looks to be a really hot one up here in Maine and one that I would not like to be working in the woods in. Your week off may be a good time to be away. Enjoy and Cheers!
I have an idea for a video that I think would be very beneficial for those of us looking to buy a tractor. It would be nice to know what repair work will be needed as part of the normal use of a tractor and whether you could do the work yourself. Plus, what would the repair entail. I'm not referring to regular maintenance, but what could happen in daily use where you'd need to correct/fix something. Thank you for considering.
Hey Jim. Sorry for the delay. That would be a great idea except I have only once ever had any repair work outside of regular maintenance on either my B2601 or this LX2610. I keep up my regular maintenance and honestly , since 2017, I have only once had to replace a small loader hydraulic cable on my B2601, which cost me $15 CDN. Nothing else. This LX2610, just passed 410 hours, and not a single issue outside of regular maintenance. If you are looking to get an idea of annual costs, I spend about $35.00/mth on insurance, I get about 15-17 hours on a tank of diesel, (about 12 hours in the winter), and other than regular maintenance parts/costs, that's it. I have to top up the hydraulic fluid every once in a while etc but nothing else. I seldom have to top up oil. After the first 50 hours, it barely burns any engine oil. Hope that helps you. Cheers!
I used to have a forested property in northern Ontario . I loved logging it . I had a veried mix of trees from maple ,cherry, oak, & big white pine ! I bought myself a sawmill & JCB backhoe . Best machine Ever ! 4x4 & 4 wheel steer !
Mine is scheduled to ship in a couple of weeks and I also let them know this this channel was a primary part of my decision. They responded by saying how happy they are for the honest exposure GP provides.
Gp , nice work with the grapple. Go slow and keep your hand on the loader control lever. My pucker power is faster than my hand. LOL 😂 had that happen a couple times this weekend. Be safe Cheers
GP you are better off in a cab than on foot in the forest. Those rubber tires insulate you but the cab will direct any direct strikes around you saving you from harm. Without a cab is an issue. I have seen a mechanic get hit on an old cabless combine trying to get it out of the field. Fortunately the steel in the combine kept him from death but he said he was lights out for a few seconds and that he remembers seeing a bright flash just before his lights out experience. I was in a truck probably 200 feet away and it was instant sound (very loud) when the strike hit.
Not that your voice is bad, but it sure is neat to have the sounds of equipment running to get the feel of what is happening. A lot of channels just talk over everything! Have a great day.
I think I would pull the box blade back and forth on that trail to get it smoothed out better for all the tractor work etc... Come on Gord I know you're a snowmobiler at heart, that's a snowmobile drag strip in the making! Need it smooth.
You guys have to come up with an excavator and rip out some stumps. If you were cruising thru there in the winter and deep snow it could be very dangerous. As it is now it's difficult to maneuver.
Gord , I’m just curious as to why you don’t cut the stumps off , even with the ground ? Sure would make maneuvering around and picking up the logs safer and easier .
Great question Brian. Guy's friend has an excavator and he may come in this summer to remove the stumps and he asked that we leave them high - for leverage. But also helpful that they are high so I can see them clearly as I wind through the trail. :)
Good morning! Got a little extra reach which is helpful in the logpile but also a little more awkward to carry around. I think of the two of them, I think the 25" gives me enough length and easier to swing around. There is also a noticeable drop in power with the 28". Hope that is helpful. Cheers!
GP thank you for speaking to mel tast weekweek but no weod from Anyy or his group? sorry to get in to my trouble but you seem to have a in with the company and you might be able to help me no special reatment just some one to talk to thank you for your helplike I told those customer service peopleif I can not get any help from you may be I'll try Dayna
Look at Guy go. And in full PPE. 😊
LOL!!

Looks like a fun day plus blackfly season is over.
Hey Gord! Yeah that pucker factor doesn’t go away with the big equipment either. Today was a stump grinding grappling day. See you tonight. 🌴🪵🚜👍🏼
Cheers!

Great day in the forest, Gord!

My Homestead pinnacle grapple shipped on Friday. I let them know that GP outdoors was most helpful in my decision
Thanks! I think you will like it!

@@robhoffman510 Great news - congrats Rob. And thanks for the kind mention. Enjoy it!

That grapple sounds like my joints in the morning
LOL! Cheers!
I need used tractors for purchase.
For the record, it does have grease zerks on the hinges. Maybe Gord just ran out of grease
@@danfarrell5177 LOL! Honest, I did grease it up a couple months ago but I think it needs a refresher for sure. Cheers guys!

Hey good morning and thanks. I didn;t know. I am glad you and your pal were ok. Must have been a frightening experience. Have a great week!

How are you liking the 28” lightbar compared to the 25” lightbar? Thanks, Love your videos!!😊

What brand and model grapple do you have?
Good morning Yves. it is made by Homestead Implements in New York. It is the Pinnacle model - 55 inch. Cheers!
Gord - always wondered this, but is this firewood all for Guy and you're just a nice guy that helps or do you keep some of this for your own? Thanks!
The firewood is for Guy, sometimes Husky Bob, and /or Ralph. I don't burn for heat. But so much nicer to hang out with the boys. :))

Has the transmission whine gotten any better on your LX?
Sadly, no. But I understand the new 20 series have resolved the issue. :))
