Ooh, nice! I'll give my thoughts on all this.
*"A Contrast From Skyrim":* Beyond just the overall arid climates & high temperatures felt across _most_ of Hammerfell (and this also goes into your "DLC Opportunities" topic), there's the northeastern border region shared with Skyrim, which can be much cooler on average; incidentally, this border region was also featured (even with snowfall) in the old _Shadowkey_ side-game. High up in the mountains, this is also where the new Orsinium (after the previous one was sacked in 4E11) can be found.
*"Variety":* To further elaborate on the Alik'r Desert's true size, it's mainly concentrated in the northwest, extending only as far east as the city of Lainlyn (which may or may not still be around, since it was absorbed into Sentinel's territory following the "Warp In The West" event). Also, let's not forget that the span of time between the events of TES Online & _Skyrim_ is roughly 945 years, and *_a lot_* can change in that amount of time, including the landscape. Lastly, here's another fan-made map of Hammerfell [with some outdated place-names, but you get the idea]: loginportal.funnyjunk.com/large/pictures/97/73/97732b_8099596.jpg
*"A New Culture":* Since the story will most likely continue sometime after _Skyrim's_ events, the political structure (and its problems) gets even better. It's not just the Crowns & Forebears vying for control against each other & Orsinium; but the *_Lhotunics_* (party formed by King Lhotun in the previous era) and the *_Alik'r Nomads_* (since they were a major factor in helping drive out the Dominion force that invaded Hammerfell during the Great War). Arguably, you could count the Imperial *_"Invalids"_* as well, since they were soldiers discharged from their Imperial Legion & had to stay behind in Hammerfell to continue fighting.
*"New Enemy Potential":* Don't forget about Sep Adders, Centaurs, Harpies, Dreugh, Wormmouths, Wights, Ogres, & [possibly unique] varieties of Lesser Daedra. *Technically,* two of these listed enemy-types were already seen in _Oblivion,_ while Centaurs & Harpies were only ever encountered in _Daggerfall_ (you could even use a "language" skill to calm them). In my personal opinion, these enemy types definitely all need to return for the sake of variety; especially *Wights* as a bizarre type of undead enemy.
*"A Replacement for Shouts":* There are a few options for "Shout replacements" for a Hammerfell-based game, though *_"Sword-Singing"_* is certainly the most popularly known of them (it can be ridiculously powerful if we look into certain lore sources). The alternatives are *_Shadow Magic_* (literally empowered by conflict & known to rival the Elder Scrolls themselves) and/or *_"HoonDing"_* powers (always involving a _pair_ of heroes rather than just one). Though, personally, I'd prefer if these special Powers were optional; i.e. not necessary to complete the Main Quest (but necessary if you want certain Endings).
*"Unfamiliar, but not too Unfamiliar":* In my personal opinion, a Hammerfell setting in a single-player game should have a very similar feeling to what may have been _if there was ever a Lord of the Rings story set in _*_Numenor_* (or what remains of it); as the background story of *Yokuda* in TES seems based on what happened to Numenor in the lore of Middle-Earth.
*"DLC Opportunities":* While I also hope for Stros M'Kai & Orsinium both being in the base-game, as both likely remain involved in Hammerfell politics, I won't hold my breath (and for all we know, Stros M'Kai may have been lost to the Aldmeri Dominion during the Great War). I do think that greater DLC opportunities may be in the Yokudan archipelago, and/or newly fleshed-out Planes of Oblivion to explore (such as Malacath's or Peryite's realms).
*"High Rock and Hammerfell":* If such a thing were to happen, allowing us to explore both provinces [fleshed out in their entirety] in a single-player game, then that would definitely raise expectations for naval exploration/combat through the roof. Personally, I'd want more playable *Races* to be included then... such as the Reachmen/Forsworn (very different passives/bonuses from the Bretons), Nereids (reclusive "sprites" found across western Tamriel; known to be masters of "water magic"), and even *Maormer.*
There's plenty more where that came from, and some great ideas can be found on TES-related subreddits too.

Im already super excited for this long anticipated game but the on theme pictures got me even more excited! I've read in numerous places now that next gen games won't necessarily just have bigger maps, but that the maps will be way more dense in terms of content. Npc's having daily routines and personalities, many more items being interactable etc. Imagine being able to choose whether you kill the antagonist with poison, befriend them or burn their house down.

Best setting because little effort will have to go into outside cities, all Barren wasteland, I really don’t care where game is, I just want them to actually start the new game. Only one team works on Starfield and ES6, just planning the game now until after Starfield is done

Iliac Bay would make for such an awesome landmark in the overworld, looking across to High Rock, and knowing you are able to swim there or to travel around, being able to then look back towards Hammerfell and feel like you've come such a long way would be briliant.
Likewise, I think traveling from Alik'r all the way to the border of Skyrim, to the snowy mountains, or to the grassy plains by the border with Cyrodiil, would make for such a great nostalgia trip.
I think the best opportunities for expansions for TES6 set in Hammerfell would be a Redguard DLC set on Stros M'Kai, a reference to the old 1998 Elder Scrolls game by the same name and setting, and a DLC set on the Balfiera Isle, the site of Adamantine Tower, an important place especially for the Thalmor and Aldmeri Dominion. A conflict surrounding this place on Iliac Bay would've been interesting to see.

also, a tidbit of trivia regarding Sword Singers, in a non-canonical text, Michael Kirkbride, the lead writer for Morrowind, apparently wrote a story about how one Sword Singer was able to create a nuclear explosion that sunk Yokuda, by swinging his sword so hard it split an atom in two. now if that isn't badass, idk what is

They were pretty tame. I hope in this one more factions have oppositions. I like the choice. None of them had foes you could join besides the Civil war. That alone would make it more replayable(we’ll probably have to play it for 6-10 years before another one)

@@cooterjesus Great point! When Skyrim came out, I initially didnt noticed the flaws arond it and thought it to be a good game. However, later down the path replaying the game I noticed the obvious flaws:
      1. Questlines in the game are typically kill this, fetch this or explore the nordic ruins.
      2. Faction questlines doesnt make any sense. (Thieves guilds main questline doesnt involve any thievery or heists, or you can basically complete college of the winterhold questline as a warrior....)
      3. You really dont make an impact overall to the world around you. People dont really react to things you are doing in the world. (Dark Brotherhood, companions-vampires relationships)
      4. Combat is pretty boring. Same goes to oblivion. At least Skyrim didnt have broken leveling system as in Oblivion. Skyrim and Oblivion belong to the action rpg group. Morrowind is an rpg.
Forgotted to mention, oblivion gates and dragons doesnt seem to pose a huge threat in both games. The list is endless.....

I really hope Bethesda drops the whole destined messiah/chosen one/you’re a god shtick. I’d at least like the choice of being a nobody that becomes powerful by their own actions and practices. I want to be the best master illusionist/thief in Tamriel but not because I had an unfair divine advantage.

They should give us back ground choices and that could change how certain people/factions treat us and how certain main quests unfold. Make it a big difference at first and then merge somewhere around the end of the main quest line.

Imperials. They conquered all of Tamriel to prove how much they tolerate other cultures. Also Bretons I guess, never met a racist Breton in my life, they are probably chill with foreigners, it's just that no one wants to come to High Rock.

Hard to say. Of course, I'd prefer there to be no loading zones but if both high rock and Hammerfell were in the game, both to scale with Skyrim, I don't know if current-day consoles would be able to handle all that content.
