    Someone needs to come up with a crimp tool that lets you shape paracord ends to a point.

    • @grimtt
      @grimtt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve seen guys twist the melted ends into a point. Spent the morning burning my fingertips trying to imitate, maybe I’m not living right!

    • @jamesthe-doctor8981
      @jamesthe-doctor8981 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It takes a little practice, but if you lay the cord down on a flat surface and, using a sharp _knife_ ( *not* scissors), cut *diagonally* instead of straight across the cord, it’s possible to get a much more pointed end when you melt it. Also, you have to be very careful when you go to melt it because the pointed end wants to melt first, basically destroying the point you’re trying to get. It helps to begin melting a little bit below/behind the cut, then move your flame toward the end. It’s not a perfect solution and I’ve had days where the cord just doesn’t want to cooperate, but it works beautifully when you get it right. However, TBH, it’s just easier and way less time consuming to use a lacing needle.

    • @-iceraptor-
      @-iceraptor- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Guys, no crimp tool needed.. just melt the end until it's somewhat hard about a 1/4 or so. Then use fine scissors or a razor blade and cut diagonally, much easier than trying to shape it or laying it on a surface and all that.. just burn a bit the end not too much. Than just cut the point u want..

      As long as the number of crossovers is even, it should work exactly the same way for longer and/or wider weaves. You just need to figure out something suitable to use as scaffold.
