Being a die hard Mac Miller fan for so many years, it’s still incredibly hard to listen to Godspeed. I get so emotional still today as I watch this video. He will be in my heart forever. Rip Malcom 💔
I find peace in Godspeed. It’s confirmation I guess that Mac didn’t wanna die. He wanted to live. Because on Faces he made it seem like he was accepting of death and was almost wanting it

If I had to choose one album to listen for the rest of my life it would be Faces, but no one understands. Everyone stopped sleeping on him after his death. Only a couple people really understand , everyone else is so superficial
Dieuson Octave WMWSO came out at my closest to suicide and hearing Mac speaking on feelings I had and seeing him overcome addiction and heart break helped me. Faces made me kinda sad because I felt like Mac would never recover and die young.

Mac Miller's sound post Blue Side Park is something different like Cudi, Ocean etc. His own genius, creativity. He worked really hard on himself and so his music. I'm glad to see people getting a look at his work. RIP my friend

This song became so hard to listen to after he died. I hate how he somewhat “prophecized” his death in God Speed. Always brings tears to my eyes when I hear this track. RIP MAC

FACTS
This one never gets easier to listen to, despite how beautiful the song is. It's so hard to watch a man fight with his own demons right in front of you when you know what the eventual outcome of that battle was. As always, you guys handled the reaction with the insight and class we've come to expect 💪💪

I’ll be 2 years sober in October. As a massive Mac Miller fan this song is more than art for me. It’s a living memory and living inspiration. It helps keep me sober and it is like a diary entry. Some days it can be so difficult but things like this exist and help. Thanks guys for doing this one. Godspeed.

his verse in god speed always makes me tear up a bit. you can hear the emotion in his voice. what hurts even more is that he seemed to be going better at the time that swimming dropped.

But honestly, I don't care which song you react to by Mac Miller at this point, he's been painfully overlooked by a lot of reaction channels including this one. Mac's discography is legendary. He's one of the MC's in the game that produces, mixes, engineers, plays instruments, etc. He was one of the young kings in the music game.

Ive heard this song 1000 times. Really enjoyed watching a first time reaction. Macs music isnt normally this blunt. Often finding meanings after the 4th or 5th listen for instance. He was a powerful lyricist. You really got to know him through his verses. Thats why the pain is real for us all.

Uh... this one would hurt, but REMember is one of my favorite mac miller song. He's talking about a loss that affected him deeply, and the raw emotion is one of the best I've heard from a rapper talking from the heart. I doubt you'll see this comment, but if there are true Mac fans over here, which I'm sure are here, you'll feel me. Miss you macaroni, rest easy.

This song is hard for me to listen to. I loved Mac so much and still do. As a young kid from pittsburgh i grew up with his music. It was the soundtrack to my youth. I felt like he was a friend of mine even though I never knew him. This song makes me wish we could have done something to help him. I’ll always miss the funny and amazing person that he was just as much as I’ll miss looking forward to a new album or seeing him perform in his hometown. I’m so happy you guys were able to listen to this and to hopefully introduce someone to the wonderful world that Mac has created with his music. RIP Malcom

This song brings tears to my eyes everytime, and I rarely ever cry. I grew up listening to this dude, I have so many homies who are exactly like him, it almost felt like I knew him. My homie died 1 week before Mac did, both of their deaths have scarred me.
The worst of it is knowing Mac died suffering.. He didn't die happy. He was fucked up from the whole shit with Ariana leaving him for his homie Pete, Mac has always been a pure soul, a happy dude who loved and appreciated everyone.. He wasn't supposed to go out like that, but he did, and it fucking sucks yo. I wish he hadve died happy

Really glad y’all chose this one. To add some helpful context, I’m about to turn 23 and people in my 2 year age window have a special place in our hearts for Mac. He was coming up when we were around 13 and starting to develop our own musical identity. We watched him progress as a musicians and kinda grew up along with him. When we were young, his music was young, but as we got older, his music got more developed. I was eating lunch when I got the news he died. My roommate came into the living room and we just played Best Day Ever. His music hits different now that he’s gone, and lines like the one about his mom cut really deep. He was our first celebrity to die. We saw Michael Jackson die, but Mac was different Bc he was ours. For y’all, I’d recommend the Faces mixtape. RIP Mac

@@bliss9280 faces was great, but Macadelic is when Mac really was vocal about his problems - he was just early in them and didnt know the consequences yet. Thats why 2009 is such a powerful song. He had been going through addiction and vocal about it since as early as 2012..

When I was an addict this song saved my life, the second verse (god speed) describes coming to terms with addiction so well and it made me realize I needed help. “I need to man up admit there’s a problem, I need to wake up, before one morning I don’t wake up”

I hope you don't get the wrong impression about Mac. He was honest and had his fair share of dark songs but he also had plenty of positive songs and coming through the ongoing struggle of drug addiction.
In order to really grasp who Mac was, you gotta start from the beginning of his music (But My Mackin' Ain't Easy) 'til the end (Swimming). Mac was just a kid from the 'Burg, lookin' to make a name for himself in Hip-Hop. It's unfortunate drugs were attached to his name along the way, but that doesn't discredit the fact that he truly is a LEGEND and Legends never DIE!

I’m from Pittsburgh and met macs mom before through one of his really good friends and hearing that line about her just hit real hard. I always liked Macs music especially from macadellic and on but since he died I find it hard to listen to his music most of time now and it sucks. Rip 🙏🏼
