There seem to be two reasons for these attacks on the Scripture story: 1) The very early gospels tell a story that is powerful emotionally and the authors of these attacks are angry at Christianity, its chastity and meekness, so they grasp at ways to reject it in favor of their preferred cynicism and hedonism; 2) The very early gospels tell a story that is full of miracles and the authors of these attacks have miracles as a stumbling block to faith (Pagels, Tabor), so they credulously embrace much later works conceived with obvious malice against Christianity. But both nativity gospels acknowledge that the story is incredible: Luke 1:34 Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” Matthew 1:19 Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly. This should give Christians patience with those who don't believe: It is normal. But would God logically enter His Creation normally? This is the problem of internal logic for these scandalmongers: If Jesus is God, the nativity story makes sense.
I find it so ironic that they have such high standards for the reliability of the Gospels and Epistles. But they would believe anything when it’s slander against Our Lord Jesus Christ King of the Universe, the Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God, and Saint Joseph Terror of Demons. They would cite the apocryphal gospels and 2nd-4th century texts as “early sources.” Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on us poor sinners, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead the poor souls to Heaven, especially those who need most of your mercy. Just because one or several claim these things about Mary doesn’t make it good evidence. In fact, there are many statements put forward by one rabbi that are then refuted by another and dismissed.
The scholar Christopher Zeichman also wrote a pretty good paper debunking the theory that pantera was the father. He concludes by saying hat Pantera's cohort would not have been anywhere near Judea from 5BC-6AD
I'd like to add some defense on the Romans from being "awful". Now, maybe the local recruits in the region were not exactly up to par, but Roman soldier traditions and doctrine made them some of the most honor bound and effective police the world has ever known. They weren't going around breaking the laws they enforced or set down. Which takes even more points away from the article's claim. Could a Roman soldier have secretly committed SA? Sure. The likelihood? Mehhh. They'd more likely just go find/wait until they are back in a region that allows brothels. A lot less headache that way.
And think about it - let's, for a moment, agree (for argument) that all differences are contradictions - you still have both sources agreeing that Mary was a virgin. That point would stand. Then that means that two authors independently came up with this story, which is very, very unlikely. Or you have to admit they were passing on early accounts of Mary's virginity. Pagels and other skeptics don't want to admit to either of these...
The Synoptic "theory" wouldn't be a problem here "bro" because the virgin birth story is neither in Mark or Q, and their stories appear to be independent, and even Pagels would agree. 💀💀💀
The gospels are replete with intricate deatails. Somebody who would want to hide or whitewash an embarassing truth would not give away so much details in their account.
Any ancient document that supports Christianity is somehow considered 'late' and 'anonymous' e.g. some of Paul's letters from the 50's where he references even earlier Christian creeds and writings. But if some account is 100 or more years later from biased inconsistent sources; eg rape vs adultery, somehow that's the real deal.

Mary is not holy nor can she pray for us let alone anyone because she is dead. We don’t pray to anyone except God
@@JesusisliterallyHim Who is we? The Holy Mother is always receiving my prayers for her intercession
@@JesusisliterallyHimMary is holy, she is alive in heaven, and prayer is simply to ask
@ Mary is dead she can not receive prayers not can she pray. Our intercessor is Jesus, God alone is holy.
@ Ofc she is in heaven but she is dead in Earth nor is she holy only God alone is.
The scholar Christopher Zeichman also wrote a pretty good paper debunking the theory that pantera was the father. He concludes by saying hat Pantera's cohort would not have been anywhere near Judea from 5BC-6AD
Remember guys you can let the video play again in the background to increase his watch time
Play it again at 0.25x speed to quadruple watch time.
Geez, what a mess.
I donno. Check their early life.
“Billy Carson level scholarship” 😂😂😂
to hate the virgin mother, is to be complicit with the serpent!
Leave our beloved Theotokos alone!
0:20 Pc is sooo accurate 😂😂😂. Merry Christmas everyone and a happy New year with health above all.
They hate God so it make sense for them to hate the Ark of God.
Some people enjoy insulting others religion,.. and the NYT enjoys printing it.
Imagine the public reaction if the nyt posted the same story about Muhammad on Ramadan
Romans were pretty notorious for SA
Boudica went on a murder spree to avenge her daughters because of it
The romans were not good dudes
Is that Billy Carson🤣🤣?! 3:12
Bro never heard of the synoptic theory 💀
The Synoptic "theory" wouldn't be a problem here "bro" because the virgin birth story is neither in Mark or Q, and their stories appear to be independent, and even Pagels would agree. 💀💀💀
@@JunkYard-omarnour I just don't respect it.
i love your content keep it up
Ah repackaging the accusations of Celsus.
I'm Sorry Dear "Holy Mother" ...
Pagels has an agenda! She is a questionable source.
The gospels are replete with intricate deatails. Somebody who would want to hide or whitewash an embarassing truth would not give away so much details in their account.
Cowards going after the royal family
Any ancient document that supports Christianity is somehow considered 'late' and 'anonymous' e.g. some of Paul's letters from the 50's where he references even earlier Christian creeds and writings. But if some account is 100 or more years later from biased inconsistent sources; eg rape vs adultery, somehow that's the real deal.
It’s called cherry picking. This is an easy lawsuit for defamation and slander against the NYT, which confuses me as to why nobody has filed a lawsuit yet.
Anyone who reads Contra Celsum can easily see Celsus doesn't know Christianity. Wrong ideas and full of hate.
3:12 Billy carson was not harmed here 🤣
Now Testify will be Defendant Number 3001 in the Billy Carson sues everyone arc.
@@Seomushaha!
Can't be surprised when sinners act like sinners but dang leave Mary alone! Let her rest, she did her part!
They have a script that begins with "T" and ends with "D" that they pull this stuff from.
People are sealing their own fate.
Great Video! Have you done a video on the contradictions in the talmud?
Good flippin grief, NYT staying consistent from Walter Duranty to now & in this case going full Zeitgeist/Billy Carson.
I really recommend The Grey Lady Winked by Ashley Rindsberg
Story out of the Talmud btw
They had to open Panthera's Box...
God Almighty sees! Those who mock and insult Him do not meet nice ends.
The aim is to discredit the Biblical account in order to call into question the Christ. That is what is happening. But the virgin birth was predicted, Isaiah 7:14, Psalm 2:7, Micah 5:2.

I assume it was not a pun of parthenos but it is the hebrew was of writing patera (Father)
We gotta find a way to cancel New York Times post if possible because that’s disgusting, hope they repent
What was the jurno’s last name again?
Some Ashkenazi Jewish name
The same news agency that covered up the Holodomor controversy
Here we go....ad infinitum
0:04 As it typical, the New York Times left some Gillulim here.
(Gillulim means idols made from round things, literally balls of dung.)
Oh so that's what those guys were yapping about
Off topic I've been hearing to Onward Christian soldiers it's Soo Epic. Back to the Point Christ will and cannot be mocked
THE BLASPHEMY OF VIRGIN MARY NOT WILL BE FORGIVEN!!!BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!
Hey, i was wondering why the Book of Enoch is quoted by Jude and referenced by Jesus if it is a pseudepigrapha. Why would Jude and Jesus quote (or mention) from the Book of Enoch if Enoch didn’t even write it.
btw Christ is King ✝️✝️
