It's fun to play, and fun to watch others play it (which you can't say about a lot of games)
I used to think I knew this game inside and out, but watching this run, I never knew about the Bongo Hills clipping exploit, the trickshots against Mr Stone, the plum-to-vine trick in Moskito's Nest, hitting that cage early in Eraser Plains or the trickshots against Space (Viking) Mama.

This game is so difficult. Props to you for speed running it.
Just beat this game today, I'm so happy that I finally beat it. I used to play it when I was a kid, but I had never beaten it, until NOW :) Congrats on this run, it's very well done.
I maintain that this is the most difficult game that I have played in my life. Yeah, I played it when I was, like, 3-6 years old but screw it, it was a properly hard game especially in the later levels.

Those grasshoppers from band land are so irritating especially the one in Mr. Sax's Hullaballoo
Really like this game. It's challenging, but very fair. If you die it's down to your own fault and not because of a cheap death pit. You also start to understand the psychology of the game's hidden cages after playing through it a while (Always walk to the end of the stage rather than touch the ending post LOL!)

I've fought Mr. Skops the wrong way for all these years
I honestly feel like the only one who was terrified of this game as a child. I have an older brother who completed the game and the only levels I could play without feeling scared were the very first one, some picture city levels and candyland xD

Watching you play this is nerve wracking, I never found all the cages so I had never even seen the last levels or the fight with Mr Dark. I'm actually appalled at how hard they made this bright, colorful game.

i played this as a kid and got the end of the cave of skops. a few years later, when i had better access to the internet, i decided to look up how to progress beyond that, and to this day i still havent found all 102 cages. ive beaten every other main series rayman game, but this one still has me bested.
This is really amazing
You kind of sound like that guy from how to train your dragon. Not Jay Baruchel, but the guy character that was not the nerd nor the twin lol. The one that was always trying to show off for Astrid. The fact that you can speed run rayman at all is suuuper impressive. Even with the mistakes!

Man this gamr was so brutal. Around 16 minutes - those music levels were so hard. I always tried to take everything out. Clearly running past everything works too.
Coming from a casual player, you're freaking incredible in this run.
Apparently, Rayman is arguably the hardest game on the ps1. And what was one of the first games we had for the system? Rayman, of all games. I remember our very first game, Tekken, which is also an arguably difficult game. What games help start my gaming addictiom, right? Lol

It took me a week to complete this game when I was young, and very few succeeded to do it among all kids in my school.

Amazing because this game is really difficult. I watched the whole video and found it interesting, especially the last level. I was never able to play the last level because there was one cage that I just couldn't find and I didn't have internet for help.

I remember spending a good 2 months trying to beat this game when I was younger, and when I finally got to the end the absolute annoying hatred I had towards the final boss. I wanted to actually fight the dude with the cape (I always thought of him as the mystery guy). Instead you don't really fight him.

This is so satisfying for someone whos vigilance failed after reaching mr skorp as a kid. And never finishing this game. This game has a fond place in my heart simply because i was never able to finish it.
Please, can you tell me if you need to free all purple little dudes in the whole game to be able to fight the final boss? Or I can beat the final boss without getting all purble little dudes? Thanks
+Tiago Gardel Yeah, you need to Break all 6 Electoon Cages from all 17 levels to unlock Mr. Dark's Dare, the final level.

+spikevegeta probably won't reply as this is a old video, but I just wanted to ask, how many times have you played this game, not just speed runs, but for fun as well, ice probably only played this a handful of times and completed it maybe twice
Good job I enjoyed this video, and just realised its fucking hard to beat this game. I came around to get all the cages afterall realising I nevere did complete this game as a kid. Im keen on completing the boss and save the fairy, but I got nerves. Whis me luck. BTW havent seen the end yet so I am excited also.
