      @@TheSewingRoomChannel Sherrill, you are going to think I'm crazy. While in the shower, I've decided there has to be a better way to build a shower cap. If you buy an inexpensive one it sits on your head and spins like a bottle, and good ones seem to be hard to find. Not sure about the fabric to use for the lining or the outside. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone making one either and it would be a unique gift. And the last thought would be Sherrill would know.

    I have watched many of your potholder tutorials before and this is my very favorite. You explain and demonstrate the binding well, much better than other people's videos that I have watched (also a lot of those!) Only thing I add is making the batting and backing a little bigger and cutting the extra off before binding, in case it squirms off track while quilting. I have learned how to make good potholders in the last year. Keep up the good tutorial work. Manny is a crack-up! I loved the part on your first mask tutorial where you kind of scolded the people who say they can't sew and you said, "If I can do this with my disabled RIGHT hand, you can do it too!" I loved that because you show you are powerful & persistent and lots of people don't think they can do easy things.

    Front squares 4 1/2"which 2 are dark 2 are light, Back layer is one 8 1/2" square, binding is strip of fabric 2 3/4 wide by 42" long, you will also need 2 8 1/2" square of batting, or same size one batting, one insul-brite....stitch is standard 1/4" seam allowance.

      Just enter your sewing machine brand and model number. Hope this helps.

    • @TheSewingRoomChannel
      @TheSewingRoomChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Soory. Did you buy the scissors or rotary cutter? If you are using scissors to cut the fabric, make sure you use straight pins to hold the layers of fabric together so they don't move when you are cutting. I like using the rotary cutter to cut my fabrics because the fabric does not shift or move apart. Stay safe, and happy sewing.
