Trip to Scotland - A93 The Old Military Road at Cairngorms - The best drivers road in UK! Day 1 4K

- The Old Military Road must be one off if not the best drivers road in UK. It is fourth time we are visited Cairngorms and every time we love it more an more! The most exciting bit of A93 starts at Spittal of Glenshee at the bottom of the valley. It provides absolutely amazing views, you can see the road climbing and bending in the distance right up to the top. We had a pleasure to drive this road in both directions as our amazing hotel, was placed right at the bottom of the valley.
Luckily, in the morning of day 2, we will go on that road again before leaving Cairngorms and moving towards the West Cost.

Driven that road so many times in everything from a tractor to an Austin 7 to an XJ6 to a tour bus never gets boring and the views! Anyone who loves driving should drive this route.
I just drove it again today. I absolutely loved it!
The first time i ever drove down this road i was in a 18 tonne HGV. It wasnt as enjoyable in a truck, so i made the 7 hour drive back in my car to enjoy the road properly. Arguably the best road to drive in the uk

Can't believe you stopped at the ski center the road that continues from there to breamar is equally as good and only another 30 mins. Then the road from breamar to tomintul is a must if your already doing glenshee and breamar. We do the three ski centers in a day glenshee, to the lecht to the Cairngorms ski center in aviemore then return it's one of the best drives ever
Hehe don’t worry. We gone back up and down that road few times at 6am day 2 before moving on.
Great road, I was up that way a couple of weeks ago in my M140i. Spent a couple of days driving the North East 250 route. So much fun.

Whats with the gloves? Just need a flat cap and pipe to go with them now.🤣. Good video, just need to organise the wardrobe a bit better. 😁
There is a reason behind the gloves. I like to keep the steering wheel clean. When I drive enthusiastically my palms can get sweaty sometimes when it’s warm. Not everyone’s cup of tea I guess.
The best road in the UK, only an hour from me. I had my old M2 up there too earlier this year, a total hooligan of a car ive now got a GR Yaris and it is ridiculously good up there.
I bet GR is even faster on this road
@@MDrives yeah on the twisty bits it’s way quicker and a lot less scary! I felt the M2 was too fast for it’s chassis on the tight bits……or maybe I just needed to slow down a bit!

Great content as per usual. A group of us did the best of North Wales last month but suspect Scotland is even better. Happy to share the North Wales route if of interest. Would be great to have your Scotland route (the good, bad and ugly). 😉
